About this restaurant

  • Great for creative cocktails
  • Great for happy hour
  • Good for special occasions
Palace is located one block from the plaza and one block from the Lensic Theater, set on a landmark site with nearly two centuries of Santa Fe lore — once home to the legendary Doña Tules saloon on the Old Santa Fe Trail. Executive Chef Jessica Brewer invigorates this longtime Santa Fe retreat with a classic and inventive dining experience, with dishes inspired by her career in some of Santa Fe's most notable kitchens. Sommelier Daniel Gonzales curates a wine program to match, pairing each course with thoughtful, well-traveled selections. Sourcing ingredients from local farms and ranches, fresh seafood from the coasts and beyond, blending the familiar with the unexpected, arriving always at the memorable. Our tree-covered back patio is open during the warmer months when the weather permits.

We look forward to seeing you at Palace!

Palace offers a mix of experiences with "amazing food" and "excellent service" in a "gorgeous restaurant" setting. Guests rave about the "best burger" and "wonderful atmosphere." However, some note issues with "inconsistent service" and "overpriced" items. It's a place with potential, especially for those seeking a memorable dining ambiance.

Gosh, I want to love this place! Unfortunately, I won't go back until it's sold and has new management. Worst experience EVER in this town--and I'm local. Drink was fine. Everything else was TERRIBLE. My server in the lounge spent his time talking with his buddy about how smart he is (eye roll) and about what a horrible place Palace is to work in due to turnover and poor management. I had to go to the bar twice for something. They were out of about half the menu items. The host was totally incompetent. Another guests mussels took AN HOUR. Mussels take just a few minutes to cook! Interior of this place is great and the location is killer so I hope it's sold to someone competent to manage it--and soon!

Came here for a birthday dinner. My husband and I had been here about 4-5 times before. We ordered a glass of sparkling wine, a bottle of red, two dozen oysters, the steak au poivre (most expensive item on the menu at $60) and a scoop of sorbet. We were seated on time and no happy birthday wishes. That was fine. Our server didn’t introduce herself as our server and didn’t give us her name. We got our sparkling wine and it took a while for the oysters to come out. Oysters were good, as usual. When she brought our bottle of wine, it was not opened at the table and decanted. It was already decanted and the bottle was tucked under her arm. My husband told her wine is usually at least opened at the table. She said the restaurant wasn’t very strict about how wines were opened. This is supposed to be fine dining, there should be some training on how to present wine. Our steaks were brought out in bowls with a tall edge. The steak completely filled the bowl. How are you supposed to cut a steak in a bowl? I asked them to replate it on a plate. When they replated, the sides were replaced, but I only got half of the mashed potatoes I had the first time. The mashed potato was good and so was the broccolini. The steak looked like it was properly cooked, but was extremely tough and mealy. I expected a prime cut of steak for the price, but it was worse than a steak at Appleby’s. I had a good amount leftover and didn’t take it home. We ended the night with sorbet that was VERY sour. We’ve had sorbet here before, so not sure what happened this night. The service and food has been so inconsistent here and we will not be returning. I don’t mind paying for a good meal, but paying $60 for a barely edible steak and untrained wait staff who don’t know to decant at the table is not fine dining. Our total bill was $437.13, after our server comped the sparkling wine, which was nice of her. We left her a 20% tip, as she did improve as the night went on and was gracious with no attitude.

Not the same palace. Seated in the lounge bar area wasn’t the ambience of what we had last time

This is not necessarily a "family restaurant," but I wanted my young daughters to experience one of the best hamburgers that I've ever had. The fries were a bit off this past visit (not as crispy as usual), but the burger was amazing. Yes, it's a $28 burger, but for a very pleasant dining experience, that wasn't out of line. Service was a bit slow, but this is Santa Fe after all...

A perfect meal. Chef Jessica Brewer is a rock star. Every bite was sublime. Can hardly wait to try her other dishes though we did a pretty good job trying quite a few on this visit.

Good experience overall. The restaurant was understaffed but that didn't negatively effect our experience -- those who filled in for the missing personnel were doing their best to fill in the gaps. The food and the drinks were excellent. Very peaceful ambiance, appropriately quiet in the dining area.

After 50 minutes, we hadn’t even received our drink order. They told us they were really short staffed. Then, don’t accept so many reservations. We walked out.

We were a group of ten who dined here while visiting. We had a lovely dinner. Service was excellent and the food was delicious overall. Good variety on the menu, and wine list.
