Unlike many of today’s restaurants, Pearl does not use a microwave, fryer or a freezer. Rather, our chef prepares only the finest meat, fish, and vegetables selected from the market daily. Our pastas are homemade by Nonna Carmela and many of our desserts are prepared table side. The freshness of the products coupled with the skill of our chef, will guarantee a meal that will delight your palate.
At Pearl, you will be greeted by Maximilian, a second generation restaurateur. Max will immediately make you feel at home with his gracious demeanor and friendly smile.
Dinner is served seven days a week in two of our elegant dining rooms.
Was a pleasant experience except for the parking. Don't think I will be returning because parking is miserable
Great family restaurant! Max and his team do an incredible job serving their customers delicious food!
My favorites are the Bronzino, octopus and beet salad appetizers. BYOB too. Don’t forget the strawberry zabaglione! So delicious and unique- you won’t find that anywhere else!
Highly recommend if you are looking for quality food and courteous service. They also do a great job with private parties!
This restaurant is incredible! From superb service to the quality of the food, Pearl Restaurant is our new favorite authentic Italian restaurant!
We had a very nice meal. The food was well plated beautifully. My friends and husband liked their dishes very much. My dish of branzino was very skimpy at any price. The vegetables were small portions also.
We sat for quite a while and they did not rush us out
It was great on all counts. The food was delicious and creative. The service excellent. The atmosphere was perfect. We were delighted by our experience at Pearl and will certainly return.
Family owned and it shows. Friendly and comfortable vibe. At least two generations of the family are out interacting with the diners. Italian food well executed by people who live Italian food.
Great little restaurant. Great food! Great staff!!!
Great byob in ridgewood. Parking is difficult as always but the food choices were interesting and well presented.
Relaxing, enjoyable, delicious. Great friendly service. Only little complaint was music was a bit louder than we like.
Very good food and very good service. I will definitely go back.
I had the beet salad appetizer and pumpkin ravioli entree, my husband had the octopus and the ossobucco. My dishes we just “meh” at best, my spouse complained his octopus was tuff and the osobucco was fatty. All around a meh experience
The food especially pasta was extremely fresh. Staff was very attentive. Great options on menu. We could have chosen several. We will be going back to see Nonna! Lovely lady.
My husband and I came here to celebrate our one year anniversary. We had a small reception at Pearl after our elopement last year, and the owner, Max, remembered us and sent us a dessert. The food was amazing as always. Some of our fellow diners were complaining that the service was a little slow because they were very busy, but it was a nice opportunity to relax, enjoy the moment and not rush through our meal. Pearl is a hidden gem in Ridgewood and we'll keep coming back as long as it's open.
Food is overpriced and service was terrible!
The owners are very accommodating and sweet.
Really below par Italian Food. I’ve had better dishes at pizza parlors, which in hind sight, we should have went to. My “homemade” pasta was over cooked and gummy and my wife’s chicken was bland. We had melon and prosciutto which looked rookie made. Could you spare the prosciutto? The service is so slow we had to track down the one waiter multiple times. I do nor recommend - you’d be better served at your local pizzeria.
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak. S
Everything about Pearl Restaurant was excellent - food, service, ambience. Noise level would have been fine except for a very loud group of women (6) who were seated next to me & my friend. However, it didn't take away from an wonderful meal & service.
we have been there twice in a month. the food was very good, presentation was
pleasant to the eye, very tasty. the home made gnocchi were not heavy
but light and cream sauce delightful. one is able to eat either inside or on a pleasant
night outside. we will go again and again.
I love family run restaurants and this one was one of the best family run restaurants I have been too in New Jersey. They care a lot about their ingredients and for how good the food was it was a great price. I have not had pasta that fresh since I was in Italy. Everyone is so friendly and inviting it is my new favorite restaurant in the north jersey area
Food was good! Place needs a make over! No ambience.. $$$
This was our first visit to Pearl Restaurant and we were extremely pleased with the experience. The food was amazing, the service courtly, and the ambiance cozy. Would definitely return.
A absolutely love Pearl! Authentic Italian cuisine and Massimo and Lena are wonderful hosts. Brought the grandchildren and they were treated like family. The food is always fabulous....you will never have a bad meal here.
A pleasant surprise. I had been there a few years ago, and the meal was good, not great, and the menu was limited. The menu is much expansive now, and the food was excellent. I would go back again in a heartbeat!
The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside the decor is pleasant. The staff was very courteous and attentive. The food selections were a bit limited in the entree selection, but we all enjoyed our dinners.
The food is great, so is the service and ambiance but it was a little noisy. Plus it's a BYOB.
Lovely. Beautiful presentation. Good service!
Very underwhelmed with this rest.
Food is very good. Owners make nice with guests. Very gemutlichkeit. Service is a bit slow but then it is the sort of place where you shouldn't be in a hurry.
The service was terrible. We ordered our meal before the table next to us. They received their food first when we asked they said our food was coming out. A main course was placed in front of us but it was another tables meal. When we questioned about our appetizers they realized the mistake and took the main course away and gave us our appetizer. . The food itself was excellent the anchovy appetizer as well as the hamachi was tasteful and spectacular. When it came time for dessert our waiter was nowhere to be found and when asking for the bill it took 15 minutes to get someone’s attention.$28 for squid based pasta is pretty out rages for New Jersey
Great food. Abysmal service. Several people came in at same time, and they had to triage tables because either the kitchen or wait staff were inadequate
Our 2nd time there in this past month, 3rd time not far off!
This was a Tuesday night so may not be totally typical. It was very quiet and great for conversation. A chicken special was absolutely delicious but a regular menu pasta dish was a bit over cooked.
Wife’s birthday. Mentioned with reservation but it was never acknowledged. Very dark. Older woman, owner, was a little crabby that night. 🦀 Food was good but small portions.
Outstanding dinner at Pearl. House made pasta genuinely Sicilian with many choices as well as daily specials that also include seafood, poultry, pork and beef entrees. Everything ordered was perfectly prepared, professionally served and the BYOB makes evening more affordable than other Bergen restaurants that have highly marked up bottles. Quiet ambiance a plus allowing for easy conversation. Pride of ownership shows as Nana comes to each table to ensure all is well. Great place.
Mother / Daughter dinner
I was turned off because the salad was awful. Description said "house made" and it was far from house made. It tasted like the typical balsamic dressing you get with your free salad at the pizzeria. I'm sorry to say. Also it was very hot/spicy. I had to keep drinking water. Not what I expected and it set the tone for everything else. The bolognese was good. My husband enjoyed his zuppa de pesce. The decor is hideous, again, sorry to say.
Really good food. Nice selection. Homemade pasta's really good. The seafood was excellent too. Very reasonable prices.
