Great vibe, very good food and drink!
It was our anniversary and we really enjoyed our dining experience at Perch. Food and service were great. We had filet mignon and duck breast for our entrees - both were nicely prepared and tasty. A bit pricey and kinda noisy but we would definitely come back particularly to celebrate a special occasion.
The adobe benedict dish was excellent--well seasoned pork and perfectly cooked eggs. The fruit cup was very fresh. The lumpino was too salty
The butternut squash soup is to die for. The duck breast was perfectly prepared. Always a great dining experience at Perch.
Food was delicious and flavorful. The menu was small but I like that.
Had a great experience. The menu is very accommodating to varying dietary restrictions
The food here is phenomenal and the service is always above and beyond. Our bartender, Cameron was the best! Not only was he checking on us as customers but he kept asking his coworkers if they needed anything and if they were doing okay. He seriously made our date night. One of the best we have had. Thank you so much!
the food was great and inside the restaurant looks lovely. I definitely wouldn't recommend the outdoor eating option, (chilly, leaves everywhere, lots of street noise). We'll return and dine indoors.
Everything was handled well. The wait staff was especially attentive and pleasant. My wife’s ciopinno was as good as she’s ever had. I had the duck and though it was good, it was not among the best of its kind I’ve tried in Richmond. The roasted carrots and scalloped potatoes were scrumptious. The after dinner port was very good as well as the dinner wine, a Pinot noir.
Fantastic food and amazing wait staff/service. I would recommend it for special events since the food is a little pricey (though the quality matches!)
Everything about this restaurant has been and continues to be fantastic. Especially the whole fish.
Enjoyed their brunch so much. The food was great and the service was outstanding. My hash was a tiny bit salty but other than that, it was a perfect experience. Highly recommend the lumpia.
Fun atmosphere, great food!
We went for our anniversary. The service was really great and the ambiance was cool. Unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy the food at all.
This is a great restaurant with an outstanding Head Chef, however, some of the dishes are not executed with the dynamic flavor and consistency Chef ML is known for. I did appreciate our server's promptness to remove the most disappointing dish from our overall ticket. I'd suggest the Brussels sprouts - absolutely outstanding, perfectly roasted and seasoned...the Seafood Cioppino - not the best, BUT very good flavor and all seafood was cooked perfectly...the Branzino - cooked and seasoned very well, great for a large, but light whole fish dish. I'd suggest the Hangar steak as a starter, but the "grilled cabbage" was more dressing-less cole slaw...and the scallops, but if they were patted dry and spaced out on their skewers before grilling, they would've developed a better texture on the surface and would've cooked to perfection.
Everything was perfect! From the customer service to the food, they sure do know how to treat their guests!
Outside heaters really worked on a cold eve. Great food and service.
Always a fabulous experience! Love perch. We had three different entrees and loved everything. Fresh and delicious. Great service.
We found this to be a very mediocre dining experience.
Very accommodating to vegans!
Restaurant was great just a bit chilly. Very nice inside. Food was amazing and service was great.
Went to dinner with my daughter for my birthday and we were excited to try the food as this is the only Filipino restaurant in town. My daughter being part Filipino I thought it would be nice experience. Unfortunately the only seating they had was on the patio, which is really a tent in the parking lot, so no ambiance at all. The menu choices were very limited and what we did get had zero flavor, actually that's not accurate, it had flavor, the pimento crab dip tasted like hot spray cheese, and the Paella tasted like it was all boiled together and just took on the flavor of overcooked octopus and bivalve. No salt, garlic, chili, pandan, sampalok and I guess the lemon was supposed to fill in for lemon grass? Filipino food is very rich in flavor, too salty or garlicy for some, certainly not a problem at Perch. Very disappointing. The manager comped the meal because we clearly at like 3 bites, which in itself bothers me because I didn't ask for it to be comped and I don't want my opinion to be invalidated but the statement of "well we comped the meal". I'd rather just vote with my dollars by not coming back. Saving grace is that when I get an opportunity to spend a second with my daughter you cannot bring me down. We ended up just going to Galaxy diner for milk shakes and burgers, and had a great time anyways.
We shared the whole fish… just do it! Delicious:). Chef Brandon came out and shared information about the dipping sauce and even gave us a little to take home.
Service was excellent.
Perch never disappoints. I was jealous of my dining colleague's choice of branzino served as a whole fish. It was prepared beautifully and my friend had no trouble finishing it. My husband and I shared the chef's Filipino version of paella. The portion was just huge! Filled us at dinner and lunch the next day and more. The pu-pu platter was a great appetizer for four! The entree version of saikoro hanger steak was a little less successful than the other presentations but still a good dish. We will definitely be dining there again.
We enjoyed our meal at Perch. If you aren’t a lover of seafood, your options are limited.
Wonderful service. Chef went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our dinner!
We really wanted to love this place. It was just average though and aside from the lumpia, which was outstanding, the temperatures were either overcooked or undercooked on everything else. We're talking the duck (no sharp knife to cut this virtually raw protein), scallops (very fishy and almost too past tense to eat safely) and the roasted oysters (overcooked). Cocktails were very good so hats off there.
They also have an exceptional noise problem and should address the acoustics with sound paneling. The wood ceiling panels were a good consideration, but not nearly enough. It sounds like you're in a school cafeteria. You could barely make out the bass of the music they were playing. We will not be coming back, unfortunately even though we had an excellent server, Kendra.
It was amazing! Our server Ross was super patient and accommodating with my parents.
Our first time at Perch and we went for brunch. Great experience. Highly recommend.
The outdoor dining area was very nice and service was good. We had been waiting to dine at Perch for awhile, but found the food to be fine but unremarkable.
The staff went out of their way to make sure that we had a great table for our anniversary. The chef even made a dish that wasn’t on the menu for us because we saw it on one of the staff’s plates and liked it. The server was knowledgeable about the dishes and was very polite. The food was AMAZING! Hands down best meal I have ever had.
My Birthday! The Butternut Squash soup got better with each spoonful. I love the Scallops meal. And once again, Joey was Fabulous!
Finally ordered the roasted fish, and dayum was it good!
This is a beautiful restaurant with excellent eclectic food and great service.
Food was great but way too expensive for brunch, they should do a brunch menu with smaller dishes and better value
Visited for brunch and had a wonderful time. Not your typical American Brunch but sooooo worth the visit. Food, coffee and staff where wonderful. The Adobo Hash was really amazing - simple blend of eggs over easy, tender pork and potatoes with amazing flavor. We also tried the Stuffed French Toast as an appetizer for the table... OMG... it was out of this world. Suggest you share this dish for its over-the-top-sweetness. Will absolutely go again, next time for dinner to try out more of the menu.
