Philhellene is one of the four Greek restaurants in Melbourne to be included in the 2011 Age Good Food Guide, our primary objective at Philhellene is to present an authentic concept of food and drink while using high quality produce and applying traditional methods derived from our own mothers' cooking, creating a truly memorable and even emotional experience.
The team at Philhellene consists of John & Susie Rerakis, several time 'best greek restaurant' winners by The Age Good Food Guide, also featured in Vogue Entertaining and other prominent media. Along with them their entourage of mothers who are working in the kitchen, spreading love & tales of their country in the dishes that they serve you.

Not our first time here and definitely not our last! We normally do a meat platter to share but instead we decided on a range of seafood dishes and oh my goodness they were amazing! The service was fantastic, the food was exceptional and love the vibe for a date night! Would highly recommend!

Good servings of fresh, authentic Greek food, the staff were very attentive and pleasant with good atmosphere and appropriate noise levels, given that the place wa quite busy. Everything including the price was excellent.

my daughter is coeliac and our waitress last night was very helpful, patient and courteous. She asked the chef if she wasn't sure about having gluten free bread to go with your eggplant dip. She offered cucumber sticks. Also my daughter wanted the cabbage salad without the currents - again the waitress asked the chef and this was possible. i enjoyed the stuffed zucchini flowers . The people at Philhellene serve divine home-cooked Greek food and use their own home grown vegetables and herbs. It's like eating at home with grandma's special dinner. The staff are wonderful; the ambience is perfectly comfortable and homely; the noise levels are just right. The wine list, while relatively small, is very, very good, too. I recommend Philhellene for a regular dinner or a special event.

I found the staff at Philhellene were very friendly and would always be at the table to check if we needed anything else. The food was amazing and love that it is traditional Greek food. The service was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be back.

We've lived in Melbourne for 4 weeks and we've been to Philhellene twice knowing that the food is great, the staff are attentive (but let you enjoy the night without hovering), and the family feel is second to none. I cannot recommended Philhellene highly enough for a night out with the family or date night with the wife :)

Definitley one of the best & most authentic Greek restaurants in Melbourne. Great service & friendly staff. Menu is excellent & offers a wide variety of fresh authentic & diverse Greek dishes that not many others offer. Very well priced, excellent value for money. Cosy atmosphere, not too noisy. A must for food lovers.

The food at philhellene was absolutely delicious. We had a banquet for 2 and loved everything that was brought out. If I can make one complaint it would be the timings, my husband and I felt a little rushed due to the next seating time.
