Pichet Ratings and Reviews
Very friendly staff that showed respect towards us. The steaks we had were melt in your mouth and the duck was done to perfection, my tomato salad starter was very tasty as well as colourful. I got the cheapest glass of wine which surprisingly nice, the strawberry desert had mint sauce which tasted like the new mojito mint and was scrumptious. The windows have obscure glass which is a great idea as the views are not nice. Now that we have found it we will be back to sample the a la carte as the Sunday menu is a little limited.
The service and atmosphere was excellent and extremely good food.Waiter top notch. This compares with someone who has experienced the finest of dining with La Cinq in The Goerge Cinq Paris which obviously has some Michelin stars but Pichet is equally good in a different way.
Food-wise, Pichet was up to its usual high standard of classic French cooking. However, something went wrong with the service aspect of the restaurant the evening we were there. While the welcome and initial service at our table was adequate, there was a considerable delay between ordering our food and its presentation at the table. It appeared we had been forgotten about for at least forty minutes, and there were no reassurances to us during that time. Eventually, one waiter had the decency to apologise for the long delay and to offer a excuse, albeit a lame one. However, we weren't there to get into an argument or make a scene, so we got on with having our dinner. From then on, the service was correct. When the bill was presented we were told that coffees were on the house and that we had been given a 12% discount to compensate for the earlier delay. This was a fair gesture in the circumstances, in my opinion, and I declined leaving a tip also.
pre theatre dinner.Reception attentive and friendly. We were seated in a small dining room with open plan kitchen.Nicely laid tables with linen napkins. Good sound characteristics no shouting or hearing aids required. Waiter realised quickly that a relaxed meal was the preffered option. Very professional service .Wine poured gently and not to the top.Limited food selection but nicely presented and very tasty. Not much saving going for the preset preheater menu but prices reasonable for the quality of venue and food.Overall an enjoyable occasion
My husband and I received had an early dinner on Saturday to celebrate our anniversary. We were immediately impressed when we were greeted in a friendly manner and brought to our table. The food was absolutely delicious. Every morsel! The service was fantastic. All the waiting staff are extremely efficient and friendly, without being overly so. We took our time over our meal and did not feel rushed. We were also pleasantly surprised to have a little "Happy Anniversary" message on our dessert plate - cute touch. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon. We will most definitely return.
We had to wait for our table. Sitting at the bar we were asked only after 10 if we would like something to drink. The service was good and quite quick. Though the atmosphere was very loud. We could hardly understand each other and had to speak loud as well.
I think the choice of the food was big enough and diversified even if the menu had only one page.
The food was very good for what we paid for, maybe the portions a little bit smaller than average. The plates were not only good in taste but also nice to look at! I would surely recommend the Restaurant.
The food in Pichet is really excellent. Both the lunch and early bird menus are tremendous value for money and offer a great choice in all three courses. The starters are superb - the heirloom tomato starter is so good that I have that every time and would go there just for that! The staff and service are top class. Efficient and not intrusive. This is the best food and value in town.
We had a very nice meal at this lovely and central restaurant. I had a smoked haddock risotto and a tomato salad, with a chocolate caramel mousse for dessert. Very fresh, lovely presentation, and delicious. The portions were just right (these were appetizers though) and the prices seemed quite reasonable. The service was very attentive. The crowd at 7:30 seemed nicely dressed for dinner; not too dressy, but not casual. We were able to have quiet conversation but we were a bit earlier than 730. A great value!.
The food at Picket is excellent, and the chef is clearly quite talented. The service was quite erratic, however, with some personnel being engaged and prompt and others (mostly our main waitress) being hard to understand and slow. Also, the bar service was not good, and one of the cocktails we were served (a dry martini) was terrible.
But that said, the food really is excellent.
We were delighted to find such a well-reviewed and casusal restaurant in the heart of Dublin. It has a great meshing of a cocktail bar and beautiful restaurant. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and delicious. The wife had the potatoes gnocchi and claims it is one of the best she has ever had. I had the Salmon and asked them to make cook it a bit well done. It was presented to me perfectly and was a hearty portion. Certainly suggest this to anyone looking to get away from the pub food in Dublin and have an awesome dining experience.
Restaurant is nice place to be, great vibe but the standard of food doesn't match.
The starter was very tasty but the main was very bland and disappointing , this was the same for my date. We both had the fish but there just wasn't anything exciting to it, used to have such a high standard of food which has definitely dropped now.
Lovely meal and lovely atmosphere. Food cooked to perfection. Had tuna for starter, was melt in the mouth delicious. Highly recommend. Wine recommended to us by the waitress was very good. Great service, water glass always topped up and nice gap left between courses. Only criticism is the rump was tough for my friend and despite being told about it afterwards and the waitress did apologise, no complimentary coffee or anything. Another friend also had the rump and it was lovely and tender so was obviously just the cut of meat and not how it was cooked. I'd recommend this and would go back too.
Possibly the best dining experience I have ever had the enjoyment to experience. The staff were outstanding, the food was spectacular and the vino went down well too. Honestly can't think of enough good words to say about the place. First class experience from start to finish. A very special mention to the staff who waited and looked after us on Sat night. They all deserve a pay rise! Very many thanks. We'll be back the next time we visit Dublin. Thank you very, very much.
