Piglet Wine Bar
The Piglet was recommended to me by my daughter. I wanted to bring a Spanish friend to a special place, good food , good ambience and good service. Piglet ticket all of the boxes. While it was a busy day, the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. We both enjoyed the meal and the setting. All good!
Outstanding as usual!
I totally forgot to leave tips, I’ll tip double next time I’m in!!!
Such a fun place! We love a decent wine list and theirs was very good. Claire was a delight, let us sample a few wines to order just what we like. She recommended dishes and everything was so delicious. Octopus, deviled eggs, pasta w pork, and the prawns were divine! Plus they played great music. It’s cozy and charming. Highly recommend!
Great atmosphere, delicious interesting food and good value. We’ll definitely be back
We had a great corner table for 4 in the upstairs area. Would easily have seated 6-8 so we had lots of room, not so much at some other tables. Live music was excellent and just right for the small space. Service was very friendly and professional. Lots of variety and options for a small bite or full meal on the menu and all tasted good.
Nice food and lovely wine. I got the prawns but thought three was a small portion. Also tried the pasta and pork ragu which was lovely. Had chocolate cake for dessert and this was lovely to.
Very nice service and food. It was a lot actually. I left being full. :)
This was a lovely refuge on a stormy night last Friday. Music was beautiful as well. Thank you. C
Very enjoyable evening at Piglet with great wine and food. The mussels and prawns were very fresh and tasty. The staff were very helpful from choosing a wine to advising on how much to order between us. They also gave us dessert wine to finish as we were there for a special occasion.
Great ambience great food and lovely staff .Dining area a little bit tight no doubt due to a lack of space .Will definitely return at a future date
Amazing food, great wine and outstanding service! Would highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our visit to Piglet wine bar. Food was excellent and service very attentive
I really like Piglet. One of my favourite Dublin Restaurants. Great wines and lovely food. Was there for lunch and had the set menu. Had a nice time!
A favourite spot that I don’t get to visit as much anymore but a true gem in the heart of the city. Food punches so far above its weight and do I love to see proper wines by the glass. Above all else it’s the warmth of the welcome and the perfectly pitched service. It makes me smile !
lovely food, great service. some portion sizes a bit small for the money, still will return!
Fabulous restaurant/wine bar with delicious food, really lovely staff, gorgeous wine and in the centre of the city.
Never disappoints, this is a favourite go to of ours
Aside from being out of several wine selections by the bottles, but enough of a varied list to suffice, nicely prepared, small but varied menu, excellent service in a casual, bit funky room. Great location near but off the path of obnoxious, nearby wobbly bar mongers
Main course was very small portion and for fish overcooked... mistakez on the bill and 36 eur for a bottle of procecco.. very disappointed.
Tres bien! A delightful lunch on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Merci!
Would highly recommend the meat & cheese platter and pasta dishes--excellent wine selection and great value all around--it won't disappoint!
very disappointing that they have not made adequate provision for wheelchair users in this restaurant. But managed to get a table for two installed downstairs.
Disappointing food. It was okay, but no more. A nice place to sit outside during the summer, maybe, and have some of the pinchos With wine. The main courses are very bland.
it was the type of place that you’re groovy you went at least once toga e a drink with friends with some bites, but not the one that will become you HQ because it’s quite expensive for what it offers overall (3€ for one single tapas is too exagerate- it is not like you had cabiaryon it)
To summarize it was nice but I won’t go back instinctively
Had a great time at piglet! Our server was wonderful, friendly and helpful with suggestions. Food was delicious and the wine list was amazing!
Lovely little wine bar with an interesting small menu of small and larger plates. Service, food and wine were excellent. The restaurant is small and tables are very close together so it is a fairly casual place.
Creative cooking and friendly welcome. Lovely wine and food - French and Irish staff very pleasant.
Busy and crowded - not a place for a quiet tete a tete. However my friend and I had a lovely evening and will definitely be back.
Lovely place for a Friday night. Great service. Had a sweet onion soup and seafood pasta. Yum
Food and wine excellent - will definitely return. Outstanding experience
Fantastic place, the duck gizzard was class, quietest coolest part of temple bar, so good sitting outside with a glass of wine, the music was not keeping with the theme or vibe as it was techno dance tunes, but other than that my new go to place
Great food, really enjoyed the Panna cotta, extensive wine list. Very welcoming service
Very ............GOOD FOOD. Nice folks, nice wine list. Small, outdoors is best. Quiet corner of town.
Don't let the "Temple Bar" address scare you.
I've been to Piglet many times since it opened and I've never been let down by its food and wine nor its service. This time was no different. In fact, it was great to see so many new dishes on the menu such as poulet Basquaise and the gratinéed rock oysters with lardo. As well as the gratinéed oysters, our party of three also enjoyed some goat's cheese tapas, the burrata salad, the duck hearts with mushrooms, the gambas pil pil and the scallops with crispy chicken skin. All in all, it was a veritable tasting menu but not extravagantly expensive. With two Aperol spritzes, two bottles of San Pellegrino and a bottle of the Burja Estate Zelen white wine (really excellent with the various dishes) and coffees, our total bill came to €136.
The bartender had numerous delicious suggestions and fantastic wine pairings. I would recommend you try and sit at the bar to take advantage of the expertise of the bartender. A surprising delightful meal.
The food here was fairly good, and the wine was excellent. However, the service was genuinely very disappointing. We were booked for 5pm, so we were really and it wasn't busy. We were seated upstairs and had to wait over 10 minutes after they seated us before we got a menu, then a further wait to get drinks.
The gluten free options weren't great as most things were served on bread, but they had no gf alternative.
After asking for the dessert menu, we had a further wait of nearly 15 minutes, after which we decided to just pay and leave without dessert. Another table of guests upstairs had to go downstairs to order their own drinks, and they were having the same conversations about poor service as we were! They didn't seem to realise or care they'd forgotten about us. If the service has been better we would have had more wine and 2 desserts, so it is their loss.
If you are tired of Irish stew, Italian food etc, and appreciate innovative cuisine then this place is for you. It is small and cramped, but quiet with excellent service. The tapas are one bite only but so creative that you should order a few to precede the main course. The mains are wonderful and each is innovative and delicious. Wine selection good too. You should make a reservation because the seating is limited.
Food was very good and service was perfect.
Amazing quality and presentation with our food.
Excellent wine selection
Very attentive and relaxed service
Felt like we were eating dinner at a house of an old friend!
Excellent food. Where we were seated was a bit squashed, three two-persons tables where there was really only room for two. Service excellent also however.
Absolute find! Fantastic food and attentive service, would totally recommend!!
Food and wine was really great, but the decor was lacking so that would put me off going again.
