Piglet is a wine bar in the quiet side of Temple Bar in Dublin. No mention in glamorous guides but the wine is bloody good.

Very ............GOOD FOOD. Nice folks, nice wine list. Small, outdoors is best. Quiet corner of town.
Don't let the "Temple Bar" address scare you.

I've been to Piglet many times since it opened and I've never been let down by its food and wine nor its service. This time was no different. In fact, it was great to see so many new dishes on the menu such as poulet Basquaise and the gratinéed rock oysters with lardo. As well as the gratinéed oysters, our party of three also enjoyed some goat's cheese tapas, the burrata salad, the duck hearts with mushrooms, the gambas pil pil and the scallops with crispy chicken skin. All in all, it was a veritable tasting menu but not extravagantly expensive. With two Aperol spritzes, two bottles of San Pellegrino and a bottle of the Burja Estate Zelen white wine (really excellent with the various dishes) and coffees, our total bill came to €136.

The bartender had numerous delicious suggestions and fantastic wine pairings. I would recommend you try and sit at the bar to take advantage of the expertise of the bartender. A surprising delightful meal.

The food here was fairly good, and the wine was excellent. However, the service was genuinely very disappointing. We were booked for 5pm, so we were really and it wasn't busy. We were seated upstairs and had to wait over 10 minutes after they seated us before we got a menu, then a further wait to get drinks.

The gluten free options weren't great as most things were served on bread, but they had no gf alternative.

After asking for the dessert menu, we had a further wait of nearly 15 minutes, after which we decided to just pay and leave without dessert. Another table of guests upstairs had to go downstairs to order their own drinks, and they were having the same conversations about poor service as we were! They didn't seem to realise or care they'd forgotten about us. If the service has been better we would have had more wine and 2 desserts, so it is their loss.

If you are tired of Irish stew, Italian food etc, and appreciate innovative cuisine then this place is for you. It is small and cramped, but quiet with excellent service. The tapas are one bite only but so creative that you should order a few to precede the main course. The mains are wonderful and each is innovative and delicious. Wine selection good too. You should make a reservation because the seating is limited.

Excellent food. Where we were seated was a bit squashed, three two-persons tables where there was really only room for two. Service excellent also however.

Très inégal selon le plat choisi. Les bruschetta ne sont pas inoubliables par exemple. Les poissons fumés sont bons en revanche.
Sur le choix des vins merci pour le conseil en rouge.
Le rosé au vert était en revanche décevant.

It was my first time in Piglet and was looking forward to it as I had heard good things. It didn't disappoint. The food is very good in Piglet and full of flavour. We shared the tapas, the duck with mushrooms, the octopus, the pork ragu and the coq au vin. I loved the duck with mushrooms and the octopus dishes. The other dishes were excellent too. We got a few wine cocktails that were ok - it would be nice if they had a full cocktail menu. We also had some red wines by the glass and all were good.

My first visit to Piglet. I had a lovely time, food and wine were delicious. Short but lovely menu. Drank by the glass on wine recommendation's from Grainne. Small, cosy Temple Bar location. Highly recommended.

Excellent service in this cozy little gem in Temple Bar. Everything on the menu was explained clearly and the starter and main course were excellent. Strongly recommend it. I was only there for a lunch meeting but I intend to go back to experience the wine list and enjoy the night time buzz.

Had a great time, had been here previously for a few glasses of wine, and the staff were so nice decided to come back for a meal. Did not regret the choice at all, the food was great, and the staff were just as pleasant as my first visit. Great wine always helps, will definitely be back.

Great for charcuterie and cheese with a wonderful selection of own import Italian, Spanish & French organic wines. Also fantastic tapas and pasta dishes. Really friendly staff and great vibe. Not a large venue and a tiny kitchen (you can watch the chef from the bar stools). Don't be in a hurry as everything is cooked fresh. Under cover outdoor area too where you can watch the world pass by on the edge of Templebar.

Had a great time in Piglet. The service was excellent, very warm and professional. We had tapas starters and they were a mixed bag, from exceptional to average. We had pastas for mains and they were very good. We shared a tiramisu which turned out to be the star of our choices! The wine list is very impressive and this must be the main attraction for people.
Good value, lovely staff, good food, nice interior and patio.

The service was great and the staff lovely, warm, welcoming and attentive. The meat and cheese board not great and a bit boring with no creativity. The caprese salad had a disgusting jarred pesto on it and way too much oil.the prawns oil oil tasted good but pretty much sat on very soggy bread. However, the tapas were incredible, especially the duck gizzard and pork cheek. I would go to piglet again and order every single tapa as my meal. They were only €3 each but so, so good. The wine was drinkable but too expensive for what we had. Over all though, I enjoyed the evening with my husband and left happy enough and with a little tweaking I reckon it could be an incredible eatery

Fantastic! Went with my 20-year-old daughter for lunch and she recommended it to a group that made reservations for the following day. Prawns outstanding, as was the special: spaghetti with crab, spring onion and chilli--spicy perfection. Service and wine excellent too! Relaxed and homey. Would definitely go back.

Would have liked more choice for vegetarians but other than that I was very happy with my meal, as were my friends (bar the far too sweet tiramisu) and we would all be happy to return.

Wonderful food and a great selection of wines. I've eaten here three times now and the food has been fabulous every time. The prawns pil pil are delicious and the small tapas are all very tasty. Service was attentive with good recommendations for wine. The decor needs a bit of work.

This was recommended by the Irish Times and was disappointing. The food was mediocre, service slow and inattentive and the place itself is in a sore need of a makeover. Definitely not coming back, would not advise others to visit.

Interesting and inventive tapas options as well as more substantial dishes. Perfectly presented cheese selections also. Excellent selection of wines and superb advice regarding suitable accompaniments to the food. The serving of the wines is true sommelier class, much better than many more pretentious Dublin restaurants. Piglet is rather small and the ceiling upstairs is quite low, hence it becomes very loud as it fills, especially so if your neighbours prefer shouting to sotto voce conversing (unfortunately for us). The ambient music is eclectic and perhaps not always appropriate but becomes much more chilled and laid back when live. We enjoyed the songs of what I presume was a Brazilian chanteuse backed by rhythm guitar for the final part if our meal.
