Place de Manille never disappoints! This was my fourth visit, and they continue to knock it out of the park every single time. The food is wonderfully authentic and truly representative of Filipino culture. The portions are just right—enough to satisfy without putting you into an immediate food coma… although you may still be tempted to take a nap afterward. What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff. The warm, genuine way they greet me with “Kuya” instantly brings me back home. It’s such a simple gesture, but it makes the entire experience feel personal, familiar, and incredibly welcoming. This visit, I ordered the lechon belly, prepared in their signature style. Instead of the traditional chopped-up cubes, it’s served as one beautiful, generous slab of crispy, juicy goodness. The skin was perfectly crisp—exactly the way I know and love it—and every bite delivered that wonderful combination of crunch and tender, flavorful pork. I also had the pork sisig, and I do have one complaint… there wasn’t enough of it! It arrived on a sizzling hot plate, crowned with a sunny-side-up egg. After giving it a quick stir to mix everything together, the incredible aroma filled the air, and from that first bite, I knew I was in trouble. I could have easily ordered a second plate. If you’re craving authentic Filipino food that tastes like home while visiting the City of Lights, do yourself a favor and stop by Place de Manille. Come hungry, bring friends (or don’t—I won’t judge if you want the sisig all to yourself), and prepare to leave happy. I’ll definitely be back… again, and again… and probably again after that.
