Poly is a walk-in wine bar by Mat Lindsay and the team from Ester.

We take limited reservations at selected times but save the majority of our seats for walk-ins. If you cant find a reservation online please give us a call or walk in!

Not sure we liked the “canteen-style” lay out, quite cramped and meant you’re continually bumped and pushed past while eating. But other than that - just fantastic food and service!

Very disappointing. Average food, nothing really stood out. The waiter serving our table was very attentive until the moment I decided not to leave a tip - he was then quite rude.

One of my best ever restaurant experiences; long slow glorious time together while we ate astoundingly fabulous food, listened to fabulous music, not too loud and good quality speakers, great staff, kind attentive, really helpful, outstanding wines, so interesting!! It really did create am amaaaazing atmosphere for us

I love when I can have a leisurely early wine dinner. Wasn’t rushed at all. Had enough time to try all the dishes I wanted and drink all of the wine. Great service great food. Good vibes.

One of us had been given a $50 Xmas gift voucher to use at Poly and we were very pleased to have gone there on Monday evening. The place was not full but busy enough to feel we were in a trendy spot. The food was imaginative and tasty and the staff were attentive, professional and knowledgeable. It was fun watching the various dishes being put together.

I love the sustainable view on food of Poly. Great respect and appreciatie for the dishes served. Beautiful food, great wines and amazing service too. Love it all!

The most expensive dishes missed the mark with regards to the taste, oysters were overpowered by their dressing, fish was bland and needed seasoning, cheese dumpling onion soup was also a bit bland and the soup was more of a sauce.

Sourdough bread roll and dip was outstanding, as were some vegetables we ordered and the blood orange sourbet was out of this world, we wish we didn't share and ordered a portion each.

If I were to do it again I would order lots of the cheaper dishes as they seemed super delicious.

Poly is one of my favourite bars - it has a great cosmopolitan feel but isn't so noisy that you have to shout to be heard. The food is amazing, every ingredient treated with respect and a joy to the palete. The menu changes often enough to keep me returning regularly. Please never take the steak tartare (in any of the wonderful interactions) off the menu - its heaven!

Friendly staff that are attentive but not in your face, reminded us that one diner had a food allergy by checking in. Wonderful wine recommendations and wine list.

Thank you Poly for another great evening.

the snacks were wonderful (potato, tartare w crispy cheese....) but the mains were not worth it in my opinion.

good spot for some snacks and wonderful selection of drinks.

difficult to get in the front door-tables so close to it
sat next to speaker.....
all dishes were same texture- soft, not chewy, white in colour, a lot of vinegar
we shared 6 dishes but were hungry afterwards

thought a wood fired oven would provide something with more character

and we were not tempted by the desserts

The lamb ribs were 95% fat.
Dessert was burnt.
Service lacked detailed knowledge of both the food and drink menus.

Food was expensive but taste was very average. Also couldn't get a wine for under 90, with a single glass being more then a cocktail. Cocktails were more of a shot then a cocktail. We left and went chin chins due to such poor clarity of food and poor wine selection with only selling bottles for 6 times the cost

We impromptu went here for dinner the other night and the food was sensational from the beginning to the end. It is a cosy yet stylish venue serving up incredible Italian-esque food that leaves you satisfied and renewed. Delicious!

Everything was melt in your mouth amazing - I'd even order the pigs head terrine again, and I don't usually like terrine!! Wine was delicious as well.

The food was stunning at Poly, the service was attentive and in a cool, elegant and minimalist space. Definitely recommend to dates and small groups. Given the stunning menu and level of service, definitely worth the value.

Poly is my favourite Sydney restaurant, I could eat here every week. Our waiter Nick made the evening extra-fun, but every bite reminded me of why I keep coming back. The bread is amazing, the crispy potatoes and egg incredible and the desserts to-die-for. Don't eat anywhere else before you come to Poly.

We had a booking and was shown to a table for two. We got lost so we’re a little late but they were fine we were ask wat type of water we would like and the still water was chilled which was wonderful. We were left long enough to decide what we would like to order. The drinks menu is huge with choice of per glass wines and bottles great selection the plates of food are share. We started with the source dough bread rolls which were very nice with a dipping cheese and oil which was wonderful. We also had feta cheese and lamb encrusted ribs wonderful ending with the ice cream which was to die for so delicious. Friendly staff felt at home. Could become a regular Great background music.
