Visited QTR East for a Christmas dinner with work colleagues. The food was very good and excellent value for what you get. The service was also very good, as it always has been any time I've eaten here in the past.
Very nice surroundings and the staff were great. A little disappointed with the limited choice on the lunch menu and found that the steak was a bit tough. Salads looked great and wish I'd gone for one of those instead!
I would recommend, but would be good to see a bit more choice on the hot food.
The restaurant lacked a soul that you get in top restaurants in Dublin. We were served lovely hot spiced pumpkin soup to die for. We looked forward to our Turkey Roulade on the basis of the soup, alas the Roulade was lacking in Turkey and overflowing with stuffing. The bed of Champ that the Turkey was served on was cold and the Brussel Sprouts were under cooked. For dessert we had Christmas Pudding , which was Luke warm and served with spray cream ,not Creme Chantilly as advertised. To finish we had Bailey's Coffee which was very nice.Overall if the temperature of the food and cooking time's could be rectified our review of this restaurant would have been pleasing to read, maybe next time.
excellent place and outstanding choice of good wine .
Wonderful staff, great food and very well presented restaurant made our day so memorable. Menu is not extensive but we all loved what we got!
Good pre theatre menu at a very reasonable price and the food and service are wonderful
Next time we might look to pre-order our food as we were a little under time pressure to keep to a one hour lunch.
My family and I really enjoyed the food and the staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. Thanks
Good spot in the heart of the IFSC which I found very accomodating for lunch. Service was slightly slow but staff were extremely apologetic and very accomodating. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to work colleagues.
We came here before a show so we were under a time constraint but the pre-theatre menu was perfect for us and great value too. Delicious food, fast and friendly service and lovely atmosphere, I will definitely be back!
We really did not enjoy this experience:
I paid 20 euro for basically a slab of white bread, with 7 prawns on it and some chopped up mango!
The waiting staff were literally RUNNING through the restaurant as they were so behind schedule. Repeatedly. RUNNING!
Used tables were left uncleared for a very long time which was really unsightly. Cue more running when someone came to occupy one of these tables.
We waited a long time to order. When we did, she didnt write anything down (a bug bear of mine), then went and got paper and THEN asked to have it repeated so she could write it down.
The drinks were over-priced. We paid e90 in total for such little value.
The chef shouted across the restaurant at the waiting staff at one point.
No one asked if everything was to our liking at any stage, and we were in a hurry at the end (having waited on the card machine for about 5 minutes) so no feedback was given.
I was a big fan of Dublin Wine Rooms (DWR) the restaurant in this location before Qtr East. Qtr east is a generic restaurant - music, decor, food, ambience - nothing stands out whereas DWR was an original and excelled in all these areas.
Besides those negatives Qtr east was very understaffed the night we ate there. There was a concert in the point so it was busy and I felt we were neglected. I had to ask to order on a couple of occasions and things were rather thrown on the table - out is sheer pressure and busyness. The staff were very nice but overwhelmed.
I'm very disappointed in Qtr East especially as it replaced DWR which is a huge loss to the area and the Dublin dining scene.
I won't be returning and I wouldn't recommend it to friends or colleagues.
The maitre d' was also our waitress and she was fantastic. My starter (beetroot salad) was nice but my main (ravioli) was terrible; not only was it bland, it was also water logged. When I asked to return it, the waitress couldn't have been more helpful and took my whole meal off the bill (early bird menu), however as we were going to a show, I had to settle for a quick bowl of chips for my main.
I would cautiously try this restaurant again for eg. lunch with colleagues to see if the lunch offering is better.
We had a brilliant experience! The Sommelier was knowledgeable, pleasant and very polite. The ambience was very pleasant, location great for the party 'right on the LUAS line'. Definitely recommend it and Iwill return. 😁
Great place for lunch - business or informal. Food is always good and service efficient and friendly. Wine is great too!
I was always a big fan of the Dublin Wine, now QTR East.
I was disappointed to see the stylish intimate interior of the Dublin Wine Rooms has been chanaged to an almost diner/fast food style.
Both my friendand I ordered risotto, we were both disappointed as the portion size was rather small for a main course and the risotto itself was over done. We also shared a portion of chips which were of very poor quality.
Sorry for the negative feedback, however, we just felt let down by the quality of food.
Stopped in for a meal prior to Bruce Springsteen. Staff were conscious of our time limitations and offered quick service. Good value with the 2 for €20 and 3 for €26. Wine selection was fantastic.
Was extremely disappointed with the service. The server did not know what the fish was, never asked how I wanted my stake cooked, I asked for ketchup/mayo - it never came. We were not asked how our meal was or if we needed anything during the course of our meal. We waited about 5 minutes for a bill after our plates were cleared - no one came. We were not offered coffee or desert. Would not return
great food and good atmosphere for a Friday lunchtime. Unfortunately had to go back to work in the afternoon so not able to sample the wine
An excellent address to diner or for a special occasions : by example, for a birthday. Dublin wine rooms suggest many excellent dishes. And there is a large wine card
Waiter took order did not write it down & came back 10 mins late to check what we ordered food cold & had to be returned ! kitchen was not busy
Door was left open & staff did not close until I asked - we were there in December !!
The warmth of our welcome, on a stormy Winters evening was appreciated. We were having a pre-concert meal with friends and the service was indeed quick and efficient. All four of us had steak and each had his own preference as to the degree of cooking. We all got it exactly as we had asked and it was delicious. The wine list was impressive but suited all tastes and pockets.
The staff were exceptional: helpful and friendly. The ambience was cosy and comfortable.
As advised by some of our co-workers we tried out Dublin Wine Rooms during our short trip to Dublin and it was a good decision.
The service was excellent, friendly, hepful and fast. Although the menu lacked some creativity the way every single dish we had was executed made up for this. The food was fantastic and the broad selecion of wines left nobody asking for more.
The whole experience was great. I loved the chip card and wine tasting experience. The food was also very good. My soup was lukewarm. I had the trio of lamb for mains - very tasty. The sommelier was great and added to a very good evening
Great wine bar and staff. We had the jabugo ham from Spain (I'm Spanish), would recommend that it doesn't get served with olive oil sprinkled on it (neutralises the taste, and it's a shame since the olive oil is so good on its own).
I was very disappointed with the meal. I had gone to the wine rooms a number of times for lunch and it was lovely. I decided to try out the dinner last Friday as the menu on line sounded lovely. But when I go there they only had one menu. A two course set menu available which they had not advised on-line or when booking. I ordered the steak well done and it came at rare and at 24 euro I expected the steak to be cooked as I had ordered. I had also asked for a side salad which never came. I would not go back for this reason. Our waiter was very nice about it but it was not the experience I expected when I booked. I was expecting lovely food and to be able to eat the food with my partner but by the time my main meal came out in the end my partner had finished as his dinner was getting cold. I would not recommend the wine rooms for dinner. For lunch time it is lovely.
From the moment we stepped in the staff was very welcoming. I brought my family there for a celebratory dinner and we were treated fantastically. There was a laid back vibe to our evening and so we had a great time.
The lobster soup starter was loved by all. Every dish we had was delicious and there was something there for everyone.
Would definitely recommend for a romantic dinner or a special occasion.
Excellent food, presentation and service which genuinely wants you to have a memorable dining experience and Max our sommelier imparted interesting information about the wine in a very relaxed, chatty way. All in all very good value and wines can be tasted in either tasting size, half glass or full glass.
Was looking for a convenient restaurant not far from the Point Odeon cinema and someone recommended the Dublin Wine Rooms.
The sommelier and waiter were both excellent - took time to explain how the wine tasting and top up card system for the wine taps worked. Also recommended what wine would go with food and were altogether very professional and pleasant.
We tried the small plates as they were more exciting sounding than the mains, and the ones we chose were delicious.
Will definitely be going again.
nice place for a peaceful midweek treat when work is hectic
Very nice place for business meals, food was great and service excellent.Thank you!
We only ate 3 starters but they were all very good. Our waitress was run off her feet but somehow was able, with her pleasant personality, to satisfy everyone in the dining room. Wine tasting was unique and a good idea. We really enjoyed the whole experience.
Absolutely brilliant. Fantastic service, fantastic ambience, fantastic wine, fantastic food. Will definetely go back next time I'm in Dublin
Our table was booked for 1245, we were there a few minutes early and the waiter took our order but we did not receive our food until 1320, 35 mins later which is not on when you only have an hour for lunch ! We had tried to catch the waiting staff's attention but they seem hell bent on avoiding our table for some reason. We noticed other tables arriving after us and they were served before us. The soup was carrot & coriander yet when it arrived it was asparagus ! We had not been informed there was a substitution - one of our party would not have ordered asparagus soup for sure, yet she was still charged. I personally have an intolerance to cucumber - I ordered the turkey and crispy bacon sandwich and had taken a bite before I saw the cucumber - there was no cucumber mentioned in the sandwich description on the menu. Two of our party had the salad combo and both remarked they were so cold coming straight from the fridge, there was no flavour in them at all, especially the chicken caesar. The chips were also quite soggy. All in all this was not a good experience so much so we did not leave a tip, and we would not recommend this venue, especially if you are going at lunchtime.
It is a unique wine tasting experience because you get to decide what wine you would like to taste out of a large selection of wines and you also get to decide how much wine you would like to try thanks to a credit card type system that lets you choose between three sizes, a taster, half glass or full glass, for example, if you find a wine you like then you could have a full glass with your dinner after tasting. The service was outstanding and the staff are very well trained to know in depth about each wine so you feel like you are learning about wine but also what type of wine you like. I would recommend this restaurant to any wine lover or just for the experience.
We chose this place based on their 'Small Plates' menu which were like a selection of starters but can be eaten like tapas ... we ordered 3 plates per person and ate a most enjoyable a meal and were stuffed.
Wine selection is good and prices are reasonable enough .. we will be back for another taste and tipple.
The Luas stop is outside the door and 3 Arena just a few minutes away making it a great venue for pre-concert food and drink.
We called on a weekend night with lots going on in various other parts of the city but was glad to see the events had not spilled over into the area. I was relatively quiet and as such we had an amazing experience with the staff available to discuss our choices.
The quality of the food is outstanding and the presentation, incredible.
The sommelier was incredibly helpful.
Overall we were thrilled with the experience and will be back again without a doubt.
Some of my work colleagues also call there for lunch and have also agreed with my sentiments.
Keep up the great work and my compliments to you all.
Very good service with good quality food served in good man size portions. Wide range of wines available by the glass. Excellent value for money compared to other places to eat in the area.
