Their website said they opened at 11:00. Made my reservation for noon. Drove from Crystal Lake to meet a friend only to discover they were closed for a private party. Very disappointed!!!

Made a reservation at Que Onde and when I got to the door there was a sign that said they were having a private event so we were unable to dine there. They should not have allowed reservations at that time if there was a private event.

Complimentary chips and pico were 5 star. We went on St Patrick’s day so there was a bit of a pub crawl vibe going on in there, but that’s ok! I had Veggi Quesadillas and street corn - very good- my husband had barbaco tacos and my brother had a burrito bowl-no complaints- all very good! Service was fine, no problems. Will go back !

This restaurant has some of the best service. The food is solid. However, for whatever reason, it consistently attracts large groups of people that feel that the space is theirs - no consideration for other diners - and feel that drinking hard liquor gives them license to yell, curse, and be generally obnoxious. It’s unfortunate. The restaurant needs to do a better job of curtailing this behavior (eg it’s easy to ask for no yelling) or they will lose families and other regular diners.

Valentine’s night date and our first time going- food was really good. They seemed maybe a little light staffed? Overall was very good, we’d definitely go back!

This place kills it every time. Great margaritas and other Mexican cocktails. Amazing salsa. And the food is some of the best in Chicago! We had elotes, asada and variety in tacos. Seasoned perfectly! We had enough to bring home leftovers and it's all still so delicious.

First time at the restaurant. The food and service were great. There happened to be a very loud and obnoxious party (30-40 ppl) that dominated the overall space so it wasn’t very family friendly that night. It would have been ideal if that party was in a separate room or in the outdoor heated space. Other than that, awesome place! We’ll be back, for sure…hopefully without the large gathering right next to us.

Just found my new favorite Mexican restaurant!!! Cute place. Greeted with (warm, fresh) chips & salsa to the table when we sat. Tasty & unique margaritas. Tried the empanadas that were very good. And street tacos, el pastor, carne asade & chorizo, were good, BUT THE BETABEL (beet) & CICHARRON (pork belly) were AMAZING!!! I can't wait to go back & I will, SOON!!

It can be a little chilly near the windows this time of year so we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and great at suggesting different kinds of margaritas since we really enjoy them. The street tacos are really great along with the hand made guacamole.

I only have positive things to say about Que Onda!!! The food is so fresh and delicious, the wait staff is very friendly, and it is not too noisy. I love their roasted beet bowl - and my fellow diners love the huge variety of tacos and the burritos. The appetizers - guacamole and queso fundido - are really tasty, too! Give it a try - you will love it!

Great food and drinks. The carnitas were outstanding as were the shrimp tacos and smoky salsa and guacamole. Loved Luis. Not really set up well for a party of six so we’ll remember that for future visits because we’ll definitely be back.

There was only 1 bartender and 1 waitress for a busy Thursday night. They were working hard, but service was slow because they seemed short handed. The atmosphere is so-so, but the food is delicious and reasonably priced so we will return and would definitely recommend. :)

Delicious! My husband and I loved the shrimp tacos, and the burrito. Too bad they were out of the mole this time, but we’ll be back! Que Onda will definitely be on our revisit list!

The food was excellent and a great value. It was busy inside the restaurant, but we were the only ones who opted to sit outside. The patio is fairly basic, but the tacos were so good that we didn't care.

The staff went out of their way to take good care of us! The food was fresher and more distinctive than typical Mexican food. I had the Roasted Beet bowl and would rate it 5 stars! The others in our group had tacos and all gave rave reviews. I look forward to going back to Que Onda soon and recommend it highly.

Used to live in the area and was back visiting. Great to see a hip alternative with comfortable vibe in EP. Great menu, food and drinks. Chill, casual and fun! Would go back!

I made reservations for 8:30 on a Sunday. I arrived at 8:30 and the door was locked. I knocked and the staff, huddled together at the bar, motioned and mouthed “we’re closed “ and went back to their cocktails.

Fish and shrimp tacos were excellent. Chicken tacos not seasoned and a little plain. Drinks were great… the place was a little hot on a very hot day and the air was not blowing which made it a little less pleasant than usual. Hopefully the air will be working next time.

We went there for Mothers Day. The manager at Que Onda was nothing sort of AWESOME!!! He came over and really inquired about our meal, and how we enjoyed the cocktails… we were interested in some others on the menu that we didn’t get to try - and he made them for us anyway! He explained how they were created, the ingredients and inspiration behind them. Super nice guy, and you can tell the food is made fresh and they take pride in everything they do there.

This is one of my wife’s favorite Mexican restaurants so we decided to take her there for Mother’s Day brunch. Instead of their standard menu, they had a $20 buffet which included just basic things like Breakfast potatoes,chiliquiles, steak tacos, very basic stuff. They offered a very minimal à la carte menu which in no way represents their typical menu. Normally this is a very good restaurant, but considering what seemed to be like a normal amount of guests, we did not understand why they had a limited menu this day.

I don’t write a lot of reviews, but wanted to for this one. Our experience at Que Onda was fine. But only fine. The food was nothing special and very salty all around. Our server must have been having a rough day because they were like the walking dead, no personality or enthusiasm whatsoever. We had to remind our server we had ordered an appetizer. As soon as it came to our table, our entrees followed immediately. Food was lukewarm and nothing notable. Except the seriously stale chips. We did enjoy the atmosphere, the music was loud, but upbeat and fun. We enjoyed our time together, but none of us feel the desire to return to this restaurant.

This was my second time at the restaurant and honestly the first time was better . The food itself was very good and fresh - we had tacos , rice , beans, guacamole and chips . I had a margarita. For some reasons the beans were not hot. Everything else was fresh and tasty. There were two issues that affected the dining experience 1 and less importantly, they did not offer much chive in wine . Beer and mixed drinks , there were plenty of options . The wine I chose , I did not like . 2 and most importantly, the restaurant was very loud. It was very hard to hear each other and hard to hear the server. Loud music was part of the problem . And maybe just the design

I have been here two times already, both times within a week and half because the food and cocktails were delicious. The pork belly is by far my favorite taco that I’ve tried..can’t beat $14 for 4 tacos + rice and beans (small little bowls of rice and beans which I appreciate bc it’s the perfect amount and I hate wasting food). I tried the octopus appetizer which was soooo delicious. It was a little over cooked which made it the texture of chicharrón but man it was so good.. the chorizo that comes with it was so flavorful and scrumptious. My favorite drink is the Diva. It’s a beautiful, well portioned glass garnished beautifully. The staff is so friendly as well. There is a young lady named Lizmara that took care of us both times. She is the one behind the delicious drinks! :) she has treated us so well both times and made our friends birthday very special. The cook that night was also very friendly and it was just a good time overall. Will definitely keep coming back for the good food, good drinks, and good vibes.

Food was good, as usual when we dined early on a Tuesday. Staff was short handed so there were really long waits for beverages, apps, and more than an hour for entrees. We will return because we like the restaurant and people.

This is our second time at Que Onda. The first time was right before the pandemic when we had recently moved to the neighborhood. The we were amazed how good the food was and how affordable it was. Our second experience was just as amazing. Food was great again. Our 19 month old daughter loved both the crab empanadas and shrimp bowl and the colorful décor. Really happy that this place didn't become a casualty of the pandemic and hope to enjoy more family meals there in the future.

Solid choice for a good taco night out. The servers were very attentive and the atmosphere was perfect for a casual, comfortable night out (happily without the over the top cheesy Mexican decor). The margaritas were quite tasty and better than some of the other drinks. The ceviche was fresh and sported some heat (yum) and the octopus was delish! Star of the night - tacos! The carne asada and shrimp tacos were the favs. Was a little pricier than expected, but worth it for the quality of the food and service.
