The Queen Anne Victorian at 210 Savannah Road in Lewes, DE has stood tall for over 100 years. Built in 1899, Captain W. “Diver” Johnston at the age of 52 collaborated with his business partner (William H. Virden) to build a beautiful new house for him and his wife, Isabella. Records indicate that he paid $400 for the entire lot, one of the most prominent sites in downtown Lewes.Over the next 100 years, the Victorian structure built in the style of Eastlake, an English architect, served as a home for many families, including longtime Lewes Mayor, Otis Smith.

The team at Raas is proud to continue the story of the Queen Anne Victorian. Each chapter of the building’s history has added to its charm and we at Raas are excited for its next chapter.

Delicious dinner, attentive service and nice atmosphere (a bit on the noisy side). My salmon was excellent. My only complaint was that the menu said it came with “potatoes”. My plate contained two small potato halves….would have been nice to actually be served more than a few bites since they were very flavorful.

Nice restaurant for Indian food lovers or Vegans (the reason we took our daughter-in-law). Also a very nice wine selection.

The flavors of the food were wonderful. The appetizers were amazing, especially the swordfish dish. The entrees were overall good; however with both the buttermilk chicken and the beef kebab entree, the meat was tough, not tender at all. The beef kebab entree is a very small portion for the price, too. But again, the flavors of the sauces were divine. Service was excellent. It was a quiet space, too, which was good for our elderly crew.

I was so looking forward to this but it was not the experience I expected. Even though the restaurant was almost empty, and we had a reservation, we were seated in a table in the bar area against the side of the bar. It was very loud and cramped. I didn’t realize they had outdoor seating, that would have been lovely but it was not offered. The flavors were good though I’d stick with the Indian choices. The Thai is not Thai.

Would have given all 5 stars if our dessert didnt take forever to come out and if they had cleaned up our table between dinner and dessert. Do recommend for the food and a romantic setting, would return.
