Wood Fired hand crafted Italian food set in a rustic modern open space in the warehouse district in ATX. A wide range of specialty dishes created by Chef owner John Carver and his staff on a nightly basis. Our house made Pastas, Fresh Seafood, and Prime Steaks are all prepared on wood fired grill, oven and plancha. An International wine list, specialty craft cocktails, and local brewed beers to choose from. Dolce and some Grappa, Amaro or Vino Dolce to add to your dining experience at Red Ash Italia.

We've been coming often and enjoying the wonderful pastas and appetizers. This time we tried the steak, which was good, not great, but absurdly over-priced. Unfortunately the steak prices weren't listed and we failed to ask. Otherwise, highly recommended.

I can’t say I would give a 5 star review to many restaurants. This is now my favorite place to get a true Medium Rare steak. The flavor and temp was by far the best I have had. As a carnivore I have had a few steaks in my life. We started our meal with the bone marrow. It was insane. We sat at the bar. At first I thought the service would be chaotic, how wrong was I. Seating at the bar was the highlight. Our server named Henry made it seem like we were her only customer even though the place was packed . Getting a reservation was a labor of love, but absolutely worth the wait. I would go back again and again. This is a must for anyone in the ATX downtown area.

I don’t get the hype, we had 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and a dessert. Each item had a technique or flavor error/misstep. Food was below part compared to most Italian restaurants. We left confused more than anything. Maybe the place is all about the crowd or being seen, doesn’t seem like it about the food

Great dinner all around. Wonderful & attentive service from Jordan. Never pushy, super kind. Started with the butter clams, meatballs & bread - used the bread to soak up all the delicious sauces from the other two dishes. Caesar salad was different but in a great way. Finished the evening with a swordfish special that had the tastiest sauce and the beans & mushroom small plate. Just a great meal for a lovely night.

We booked a reservation months in advance. I was very hyped about the night because Red Ash has been on everyone’s list to try. It’s a very popular spot as every seat in the house was occupied. Our server was fine, not very enthusiastic nor engaging. I loved the ambiance: the heart of downtown, low lighting, a roaring kitchen, but the noise was awful. It’s an intimate locale, very tight and voices carried. We ordered the Prosciutto and Burrata, Captains Hats and Beef Filet. The food was fine, not incredible. I will say the tiramisu was lovely. I’d order that again. Overall, I’m glad to take Red Ash off my list but don’t think I’ll be needing to go back anytime soon.

Red Ash was the simply the best Italian I’ve ever had in the US. I had the duck confit, today’s special, so tender it was literally falling off the bones while the skin remained nice and crisp. A fantastic cheese risotto accompanied the duck on the side, cooked to perfection whereas most restaurants overcook and ruin it. Even the small salad on the plate was amazingly delicious, which says a lot. I sat at the counter watching everyone cook very efficiently and tidily—no wonder the food came out immediately. The Tuscan wine was also great. My server Eddie was very attentive and gave me excellent advice on my orders. The price is expensive, but completely justified. Everything was perfect!! I’ll definitely be back if I’m ever in Austin again.

This place is fantastic! Im from Houston and whenever I’m in Austin, I always make it a priority to visit Red Ash! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great place to celebrate special occasions or even normal get togethers!

We always love to come and enjoy every dish we get. We thought the portions seemed a bit smaller than usual for the price but still enjoyed everything we got. Always a pleasure to come!

Wonderful place to eat. They put a lot of attention to detail into everything they do and everything ends up tasting great. Definitely one of my favorite dinner spots in Austin.

Never disappoints!!!! Well worth the lengthy reservation time (2-3 months). Each time we go we make the next reservation as soon as we get home.

This place books up far in advance, but the wait is worth it. Very attentive staff and phenomenal food offerings. The burrata (starter), osso bucco (entree) and chocolate cake were excellent, and even the cocktails were superb. While it would be convenient to reserve a table a week out as I normally do, I'm tempted to just make a standing reservation every few months and invite guests to join me when the reservation comes up.

Always a memorable meal. Service is outstanding. Food is some of the best in the city. The only problem is how hard it is to get a reservation.
