Roly's bistro first opened its doors in 1992 and has served traditional European cuisine ever since. The restaurant offers both dining in the restaurant, take out and catering. The menu caters for most pallets with a Goat's cheese and vegetable tart and a selection of meat dishes from Roly's butcher block, such as sirloin steak and rib of prime steak.

In general we were satisfied.
However the service, even allowing for the Covid situation, could have been better.
Long waits between courses
Steak ordered rare but had to be returned as it was more well done than rare.
The monkfish was somewhat over cooked and as such lost some of its taste : the sauce or marinate did not complement the taste but rather negated it.
Carafe wines both white and red were good.
The two other dishes were very good. Starters were also good.

Disappointing.
Staff had terrible English and got orders incorrect. I am pregnant and therefore asked specifically for Medium fillet steak. It came out rare. We asked for extra fries for our child but they separated my husband's meal onto 2plates. Booked a high chair, had to ask 3 times on arrival for one. No children's menu and no baby change facilities anywhere onsite. Door to disabled door was broken and had to change a toddlers nappy standing up and the floor was filthy.
Too busy, too many people, poor ability to socially distance, abysmal service and highly dis organised.
Very very disappointing for Rolys and a place we as a family have been going for years. Won't be back for a long time

A really poor choice of wine by the glass. Glass of wine small and inspiring.
The cabbage was very tough and the puree carrot resembled baby food.

Good welcome and atmosphere: a good “buzz” but able to hear across our table and not next door.
Slow to offer drinks and wrong drinks brought when eventually ordered. Correct drinks promptly brought after the mistake was pointed out.
Twice a waiter brought other tables food by mistake.
Food was good bistro standard and meat was cooked to our specification.
However, an enjoyable evening not spoiled by the wayward service.

Food was good, unfortunately service was disappointing. Waiting ages for wait staff to take order, etc. Most disappointing of all, it took about 30min for us to get the bill and pay. I had to go to the till to request it, only to be told to sit back down. Wait staff were rude and inattentive. Disappointing service which overshadowed the good food. I won't be back.

First time here so did not know what to expect but we weren't disappointed.
The staff were so kind and attentive.
Social distancing rules were rigidly adhered to and the food was delicious.
Even our guests 3 year old very picky daughter cleaned her plate so I would highly recommend Rolys.

We were greeted and seated by a very nice gentleman. Our waitress was fine, took our order promptly. No one came back to our table to see if everything was okay. Even when I was paying the bill the man never asked did we enjoy it. It was disappointing overall. None of us would be in a rush back.

There was a group of 8 of us and we had a lovely table. There was a large noisy party near us, but it wasn’t really a problem - they were having fun. Food was delicious, as always, and we were able to order from the theater menu. Service was excellent!

Booked a table for a bank holiday Monday and was pleasantly surprised by how busy it was . Food was of good quality throughout , only criticism I’d have is the monkfish main course - where the portion of monk was very small and there was just too much beetroot on the plate , other than that the food , service etc was excellent .

Hi, just a few things about our dining experience, we always love Rolys so there was just a few items that we were disappointed with.
The starters were all lovely but the soup was cold, my father in law didn't want to say anything as we were a table of 11.
Breads were amazing as always.
The main course were all lovely except for the veg. Everyone missed the creamed carrots, the buttered cabbage and the garlic/cream potatoes and no croquettes(the one thing i love so much.
The desserts were nice, only for the crumble, the pastry was too thick on the crumble and not enough fruit in filling for the amount of pastry, so that was the only disaapointing dessert.
Otherwise the experience was great and the staff as always were very accommodating. Thank you and I hope the next time we are back some of the veg will be back on the menu. Thank you

The restaurant looked shabby, like it needed a good clean, and a re vamp. The food was just alright, overcooked veg, beef was tough, nothing special really. On a positive note, the staff were very attentive and welcoming.

Food was good without being as good as I remember Roly's being. But most disappointed by the service. Roly's is known for its welcome but really didn't get this. Drinks & Water we ordered were slow to arrive or forgotten. It just seemed like we had to ask for stuff a lot of the time and therefore attract attention of a waiter. It was a little unsettling tbh.

Wanted to try this place for a while . It was nice , the food was nice. Suited a more mature clientele. There seemed to be several regulars who were treated differently by staff members. It was expensive but I suppose you pay for location.

Left for 25 minutes to order our meal even though we were 3rd table of the evening. Told our meal would take 25 minutes after ordering but had to wait 40 minutes for it to be served. Meal itself was excellent though.

Fantastic food and service. Roly’s was recommended by a friend and it didn’t disappoint. Mushroom soup was amazing. Duck confit and grilled hake, on point!! My only criticism is the “supplement” on the smoked salmon/prawn salad, which I really felt was small to begin with. But, flavours were really nice. Overall a great experience and we appreciated the home-cooked bread to nibble on!

Mushroom soup was ok, not as hot as I would like! We both had plaice which again I found only ok, it was a very generous portion, cooked in a crumb but a bit over done, fairly dry!!! The best part was the potatoes and veg! I didn’t feel overall it was a wow! There was s set price for 3 courses but courses were also individually priced, we didn’t have desert and there was 6€ deducted off the bill, I thought looking at the bill after that it would have been cheaper if we had paid for the courses we had, I might be wrong on that!!!

Found the food to be below standard for the pricing, chips were something one would receive around 2am at the afters of a wedding. Fish was ok but nothing spectacular. My partner got dublin bay prawns and we needed to aend out a search party for the rest of them (around 5 on the plate). Cheesecake was mediocre, meringue roulade was nice.
