   I was a bit disappointed with my visit to Roly's with 3 colleagues in March 2023 - since my last visit in 2021, the beef options on the a la carte menu have been seriously reduced. Roly's used to source its beef from the farm of John Hayes (ex-Munster and Ireland prop) in Co Limerick, but has since changed to Niall Quigley in Co Cork - but the main change is that the only options on the menu were an 8oz fillet and a 10oz ribeye, whereas previously there were more options in different cuts and different sizes. The steaks were fine but not spectacular, as they had been previously. Also, we were seated in a booth which was very tight - the upstairs dining room feels a bit tired and in need of a makeover. Wine choice was also a bit limited with a lot of average wines, nothing much for a special occasion.

    Despite making & receiving confirmation of our online booking, Front desk were unable to find it. Fortunately we were given a table. Sorry to say standards are falling, Rolys is not as good as it once was. Food average at best, service very poor (very long wait for main courses) , restaurant half full, so staff not overburdened. No engagement with guests. Difficult to recommend and will not be back anytime soon for dinner.

    Food & service was very good The noise level was appalling. There were too many people in the room. Very large groups of mostly men, which in my opinion should have been in a private room

    Welcome was good, service attention excellent. Lovely white table cloths, food excellent . The only negative was that when we requested if the restaurant could order a taxi as we were going to a concert after dinner, we were told to stand outside the restaurant and flag one down. If if had been raining we would have been in trouble as we had to walk for about 15 minutes on the opposite side of the road and eventually got one. Perhaps they should consider having a liaison/contract with a nearby taxi orovider?

    Lovely friendly staff, nice restaurant in a good location for us to get a taxi to the 3 arena. Set menu and Al a carte, nice fish cake starter and hake main course, cheesecake dessert went down very well as did the house white. Dublin is expensive

    Our party of 6 all enjoyed a beautiful meal in Rolys on Feb 6th 2023. All starters and mains were excellent, beautifully presented and great flavours. Steak was small but excellent and cooked as requested. House wine was very good. Desserts were great except for the cheesecake which was a little lacking in flavour. Service was great and the dining room is very attractively decorated and comfortable. We’ll be back!

    What a fabulous memory as I brought my close friend Siobhan from Monaghan to celebrate her Retirement and my sister Aileen From the time I rang & talked with Lorraine to book to time we left the staff were absolutely so attentive, efficient and very well trained The food, ambiance and service was way above 5***** Staff couldnt do enough for us Love Rolys Thank you one and all We will be back Have special birthday & look forward to attending your beautiful restaurant later in year

    Food was great as usual. Atmosphere was very nice. But we found the service very poor on this occasion. It took over 30min and a reminder to get our glasses of wine. Our table wasn't cleaned after we finished our dinner. And it took 35min to get and pay for the bill. Also, we did not enjoy sitting on a table (17) which was squeezed between 2 other tables, leaving us with little intimacy.

    Brought some US colleagues for lunch. Everyone had very enjoyable meals. Staff were attentive, without being overwhelming. Definitely on my list of favourite restaurants now, when I'm back in Dublin.

    My wife and I were there for lunch and to summarise, the front of house let the restaurant down. It felt like the left hand didn’t know what the right hand was doing. For example; asked for a bottle a still water and a jug of tap was put down. 20 seconds later a bottle of still was opened and brought over. I was felt it was my fault. Secondly, a basic ask (and maybe I’m expecting too much) but why can’t restaurants take coats anymore?! So we had two long coats draped over the floor. “We don’t take coats!”. Food was pretty good but was so disappointed with the service. It’s a shame as I’ve been going to Roly’s since a child. We won’t be back unless we have to.

    I had an excellent dinner here on Tuesday night. I had the chicken wontons to start. They were delicious, followed by the halibut and smoked mashed potatoes, which were really exceptional. The service was very good and attentive and the place had a lovely ambiance. I would highly recommend Roly's and will definitely be returning.

    Birthday dinner with friends. Great venue, lovely atmosphere. We had a booth upstairs and it was very cosy. Excellent service and attention to detail. Lots of choices between the Al a Carte and set menus. We had the starters and main courses with a nice selection on the wine list also. Very enjoyable evening.
