    I tried Saffron brunch for the first time yesterday, and oh my goodness... I've never been in such a happy food coma. 10/10 on everything from the service, drinks, and food.

    For an avant-garde fine dining experience, the ambiance worked quite well. However the food was a letdown. The lamb was consistently overcooked which made it chewy and leathery. The flavors and seasoning were good but meat was a total letdown. And when youre paying over $30 for a single lamb dish, such a rookie mistake is unacceptable

    My friend and I had a great lunch celebrating his birthday. I love the fig naan, and the Pani Puri smoker is my favorite, and the lamb dosa was spicy, but so flavorful. We ended our meal with the fun birthday torch dessert. I’m excited to try their brunch on the weekend soon

    Lovely atmosphere, attentive service. The food, especially the small plates, was fabulous. The Lamb Dosa was one if our favorites- could have eaten the Dosa by itself!

    They have a dj with brunch now which made it very loud, even on the patio. Our food wasn’t as stellar as it was our last visit. Chicken was over cooked.

    I’ve experienced Saffron for brunch (seated on the patio) and for a bday dinner (seated inside). Both experiences were exceptional. For the bday dinner, our table did the chef’s tasting ($75/person). The food was wonderful value for the price. We spent three hours eating/drinking and soaking up the ambience. Treat yourself to their cotton candy dessert. It’s an experience in itself!

    Another great lunch experience with my friend visiting from Pakistan. The lamb dosa, samosas, shrimp tacos and crispy cauliflower were all yummy. Has to be good if someone from Pakistan enjoys it. The chai and ras malai to round it all off were perfect.

    My husband and I went on a date night after following Saffron on Instagram for awhile. Overall, it was decent but I don’t know that we’ll go back. Starting with the positive: - The menu was well thought out and I was impressed by the flavor profiles and offerings, you can tell the chef really cares about what they’re creating. Bonus points for also having a mocktail section on the menu. - Our service was very prompt. - Price-wise, things seemed reasonable considering what you were getting and the location. The naan is a clear upsell, but everything else felt appropriately priced. Room for improvement: - please get rid of scented candles, it is so overwhelming when you walk in the door. We are all there because we like Indian food, I want to smell the food I’m eating, not a candle. Also, the scent of the candle gets in your nose which inhibits the taste. - the music was too loud, it felt like we were trying to eat in a club, it was not very romantic because my husband and I could barely hear each other speak, and the people next to us were basically shouting to each other. If you’re trying to attract that clientele, that’s fine but if I’m paying for a nice dinner, I want to be able to relax and talk to my husband, not feel like we’re having a rager. - food was a bit bland - very nit picky here but from where I was sitting , I was starting at a garbage can and some sliding carts, I know this was part of the front check in area but for the price you’re charging for food, I don’t want to look at a trash can while I eat Overall not a bad experience but I don’t feel like going back unfortunately.

    Cocktails amazing. Lacha paratha not a lacha paratha. Garlic naan okay. Dal makhani okay and chicken chipotle not from tandoor so you get a baked feeling and is not much going for it. Also we specifically requested traditional spicy with server and food was medium mild. Ambience pretty good. Place was packed. I wish them well and good to see them serving Indian in Milwaukee. We will give them another try when are back in Milwaukee again.
