   A releaxed but elegant setting in this bar. The main resturant was fully booked so we chose the bar. It is spacious and clean, not your typical bar setting. The tables are small round tops but the staff placed 3 in row and we had more then enough room for the 5 of us. Food and service were both good as well. Nice, causal and relaxed dinner .

   Greeted by a very friendly face on entering , nice decor, food was tasty but nothing spectacular very little selection on the menu, Drinks are completely over priced

   The bar/restaurant itself was lovely bright and airy though table was small for 5 people to eat at. Fine for glasses but not for 5 plates. Staff were very pleasant when they were serving but boy did they avoid eye contact so it was difficult to get their attention. My biggest disappointment was the lunch. Options for mains were burger, chicken goujons, battered fish, (all with chips & small side salad) and curry. For a hotel of this calibre I expect much more. Something I wouldn't get at home or produce from a deep fat fryer! Chicken wing starter and desserts lovely. Overall not bad but if you're looking for something healthy or special..... not here.

   Our second time eating here this week, and food was just as excellent second time round. We enjoyed our meal so much earlier in the week, that we went back again yesterday evening and tried different choices on the menu. I had the Blackrock salad with garlic bread side, and my mother had the fish and chips. Amazing!! I noted in my last review that the service could have been sharper, but there were no issues last night. Really attentive and friendly server. We’ve enjoyed eating here so much that we’ve decided to book into the hotel for our next stay (we usually book for the hotel next door, but the menu there is tired and limited).

   Fabulous food in a lovely setting. My mother is a picky eater, but she adored the salmon and had cleared her plate before I’d finished my veggie stir fry (also delicious). This is unheard of! Service could be a little sharper - I tried to flag our waiter for a second drink, but he kept his distance from our table. When it came to requesting the bill, I managed to flag him down but he never came back with it, and we had to ask someone else. Nonetheless, this is definitely a place we’d come back to. Aside from the fabulous food, the decor is gorgeous and there are lovely views of the sea, if you take a table by the windows.

   Prebooked tables and dined two nights in a row, first night table was reserved, quick attentive service, food was lovely but not piping hot. Second night had table wasn't reserved, table with view was given which was lovely, ordered drinks didn't come, food was lovely, tried to get attention of 4 different staff re drinks order not one acknowledged us, no one checked on us throughout the duration of the meal mind you the bar wasn't too busy. Coming from a hospitality background myself, better attention & management needed. Suggest a reserved table as you are better taken care of in that area.

   Booked table for 8,Food was nice, had a few drink after dinner, Surprised by live music which started around 10. Had two kids 12 and 14 with me which we were asked to leave at 10.30 with. Kids not allowed after 10.30 Which is fair enough. Staff were very friendly and helpful

    Thank you to the staff for helping it making our first marriage anniversary extremely special. Staff helped to provide ocean view table, really good service, greetings and congratulations messages for our anniversary, complimentary desert(too yummy), helped to take our pictures and delicious yummy food. Thanks to entire staff, loved the overall experience.

    Arrived at 6pm only to be told there was no booking and to just find a table anywhere, bare in mind there was 6 of us including 2 children. Which is why I made the booking, I did ask what was the point of booking only to get a shrug of the shoulders from the girl behind the bar. We would have left at this stage only we had walked to the hotel and my husband is just finished chemo and was tired. We ordered our food and a bottle of wine and drinks . The wine was off and they did offer to change the wine but we declined. They took it off the bill, the food when it came was lovely, but the 2 children which were with us had to wait a half an hour for their dessert, they were only having ice cream. The manager did come over and apologised for the delay and didn’t charge for the dessert. The whole evening was ruined at that stage. Needless to say we won’t be returning. The waiter that served us was nice and friendly. But overall not a good experience and not a good ending to our holiday in Galway.

    All the atmosphere of a wake Expensive and impersonal Drinks came after food We werent offered dessert menus staff didnt make any effort to make us feel welcome staff avoided eye contact when we were trying to pay??? would not recommend if youre looking for a warm, friendly place

    We had a very enjoyable meal at the Blackrock Bar. I had fish and chips which was huge and really tasty and she had the Thai Curry which was devoured. The highlight of the night was definitely the cocktails, all made fresh right in front of you. Really, really amazing experience. Great food, great Service and amazing cocktails. We will be back again and again

    Really bad experience. Food was like cheap frozen food, pizza wasn’t cooked properly. Waiters never came over to check on us or take drinks orders. I had to get up 3 times to look for someone to ask to order. Pizza was brought to table but no cutlery, napkins, side dishes, chips that we’d ordered were brought. Really terrible experience.
