Good food and excellent selection of Italian wines
My favourite Italian seafood restaurant in London! The food is fresh and just so good! Always get excellent service. Nice local restaurant relaxing, it's a hidden gem.
Great products, good wines. Added to my fav in London
It has been an amazing experience! One of the best places to eat raw fish in London!
Uncomfortable, rushed and expensive experience.
Before we had even sat down, a waitress was asking us if we wanted still or sparkling water. We were being persuaded to try the fresh fish option, but as the pricing was unclear as to how much it would be, we choose from the menu. The sea bass balls were bland and the broccoli and prawn dish was disproportionately large for a starter. The langoustine linguine was tasteless with a very small amount of langoustine, the plate was cleared without asking why we had only eaten 1/3 of it. My seared tuna was not hot and served on a cold plate. I asked for it to be warmed up and it came back 2 mins later with very little change. We felt rushed and a wine glass was cleared from our table whilst it still had Prosecco in. The ladies toilets were filthy. However, the chairs were comfortable and the ambience was good, but not worth the £192 we paid for a 2 course non impressive meal.
Memorable evening, excellent experience thank you.
excellent on all counts! ❤️❤️❤️🥂
The oysters were absolutely delicious and perhaps the best we’ve had (£6 each) but we didn’t think the spaghetti vongole was that good at all, especially for the price. The cheapest bottle of wine was £40 and the service overall a bit slow. We would have expected something a little more special for these prices.
Excellent restaurant, good menu and a lovely ambience
Highly Recommended. The Best Italian Fish Restaurant in London!
Yesterday I went to Santo Mare and I had an unforgettable experience, the food was great, the fish was fresh and the service was perfect. I tried the linguine with langostines and mint and they impressed me, then we took the fish with a style that Eloi recommended in the fish market and it was spectacular, we ended up with the pistachio ice cream that Alessandro recommended and it was the best ice cream I've ever tasted never, in conclusion, perfect food and exquisite service, highly recommended!
I came here with my wife by suggestion of the hotel concierge: I found a charming italian atmosphere provided by a young team.
The food is amazing and I picked mine from the fish market (with the help of the the waiter)! Excellent wine list; the pistachio icecream was out of this world!
A lovely dining room with good service. The salads were drenched in oil. The pastas were so-so, but one of us could not and would not eat the presentation. The waiter gladly changed for a red sauce which was mostly oil, again. Dreadfully over-priced.
The best Italian restaurant in London! There you can find the real Italian taste with a great fish selection cooked and served in a proper italian style!! All the staff very nice friendly and polite. Raw fish very delicate and the Lobster was so tasty! Desserts are delicious!!
I definitely recommend it! 🇮🇹
Lovely italian restaurant!
Professional staff, very kind and friendly as well, the waiters Eloi and Alessandro explained us about the recipes, huge selection of fresh fish, very tasty and perfectly cooked! Desserts are simply amazing, pistacho ice cream the best I ever tried!! A lovely dinner with Italian food, Italian wine and tipical italian style, I'll definitely will come back!!
Had dinner last night and I couldnt let a review slide away.
From the interior down to the food and the service , this place represents the best way how a culinary experience should be.
Fortunately the guys helped me with the selection of the fish (if you are not familiar with the Mediterranean seafood cuisine, trust them to guide you) and whatever you do don't miss the pistachio ice cream, which is heaven on a earth.
I want to thank Alessandro and his team for this unique experience. It's not everyday that you get professional attention even in the places you expect it but these guys know how to make you feel special!
Santo Mare became my favourite Italian restaurant outside of Italy. Great for both family dinner or business lunch.
Great personal touch and service. Non intrusive but Friendly. Fresh fish, great consistency in presentation and delivery. Smart wine selection.
I would appreciate less fresh fish and shell fish priced above 150 gbp per kg. The current fresh fish restaurant market is non sustainable at the prices above 90 gbp per kg.
Service was incredibly poor. It took 15 minutes for someone to come to our table. The waiter seemed annoyed that we would have questions about the menu and didn’t provide us with any additional information about the seafood selection. We were also dining with a vegetarian and the waiter was unwilling to even have a discussion about menu options. This made the dining experience very unenjoyable. For a restaurant of that caliber it’s embarrassing that we would be met with such poor service. We had to ask multiple times for our dishes to be cleared and to have water brought to the table.
Maybe it was an off night, but I would not return.
We had Christmas Eve dinner and it was a very good experience. They serve family style so the 4 of us shared 2 appetizers, 2 pasta courses and then a fish platter. Tiramisu for dessert was at the table and was fun as well as excellent. The only thing I would change is the fish course, the prices were quite high even for fresh/flown in from Italy. The quality was evident and the preparation was excellent but for make sure you ask for the price as it is market pricing and depending on this you can decide. The meal was all prepared very well and we enjoyed it.
Outstanding food, outstanding service, outstanding quality. Proper Italian food!
The experience was outstanding and the food was excellent. The service was great as well.
Fantastic service great food great wine selection . My wife was so happy wedding dinner was amazing food , my favourite place 👌🏾
We enjoyed good sea foods as well as good spaghetti.
Santo Mare is one of the best seafood restaurants at London. The atmosphere, the selection of fish and the dishes
Great ambiance and service. Food is good.
But the prices are incredibly high..Keep it in mind before booking
Entertaining staff Good Pure Italian food Nice ambiance
Good food but overpriced
Top fish restaurant in London
The restaurant looks great from the outside, so after walking past one night, we decided to book for a few nights later. We are fortunate to live by the sea in the north of Scotland and have regular experience of truly fresh fish and seafood.
The interior is fine, as is the service, but we were disappointed with the freshness of the fish we tasted (a Sunday evening), as well as the quality of cooking, which seemed rather lame. The grilled fish platter was pretty lack-lustre, missing any real character & grilled taste.
Many restaurants around the Med manage to produce far better dishes at reasonable cost. By contrast, this is a reasonably pricey London restaurant, focused on fresh fish, yet we came away feeling many other fish/seafood restaurants in London provide a better offering, and at much lower price.
Lovely place and our server Marzia did a wonderful service.Thank you!
Ok food - tiramisu was very good - but insanely overpriced. For this money I would expect elite 1-2 M star. This was very average. Disappointing.
High-end Italian fish restaurant. Beautiful langoustine starter, superb lobster pasta, decent enough mixed fish grill, pleasant wines, friendly service. Waiters wore very large watches and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about the food and drinks. Prices were high throughout. Enjoyed it.
Above any expectation...
Staff charming, very helpful and attentive. On the whole the food lacked ooomph. Needs more seasoning. Texture of fish balls good but lacked flavour . Tomato sauce excellent. The octopus and potato salad was very good but again needed seasoning. Seafood risotto lacked seafood and seasoning. Price of the fish per kilo eyewatering and offputting.
Questo ristorante è semplicemente buonissimo. Senza dubbio uno dei migliori italiani di Londra se non il migliore.
Watch out for the “market selections,” which I discovered can quite expensive. Food and service are excellent, but the prices (particularly off-menu prices) can be steep.
Every was perfect, especially tiramisu was amazing!! Really love it!
Terrible table in “pub like” room beside bar. Staff very arrogant about almost everything especially “their food” which turned out to be very average and very expensive!
To top it all big tip “assumed” and already included in bill when presented!
Absolutely beautiful food. The pasta is handmade and cooked perfectly with beautiful flavours. I recommend the gnocchi gamberi which is amazing! The pistachio ice cream is handmade and absolutely beautiful l. The service by the staff is exceptional!
