Serving signature pastas made in-house daily, paired with the highest quality, locally-sourced ingredients along with fresh local seafood. Scarpetta’s famous Spaghetti Tomato & Basil is nothing short of classic simplicity in both taste and preparation.
In addition to the 3-star review in the NY Times, in 2008, Scarpetta received a James Beard nomination for ‘Best New Restaurant in America.’ In 2015, the restaurant was named ‘Best New Restaurant in the Hamptons’ at sister property Gurney's Montauk by Newsday.
Service needs improvement. Waited 40 minutes for drinks.
Food was fantastic and so was the service. Best spaghetti I’ve ever had.
Beautiful space, wonderful atmosphere, great staff and the food is amazing, especially the short ribs and foie gras ravioli. Desserts and cocktails are delicious too. Can't go wrong.
Will definitely be back
The food is good (albeit overpriced) but the service was terrible. Very inattentive and borderline unfriendly. I always give servers the benefit of the doubt as it’s a very tough job and everyone has bad days, but when paying $600 for a meal one expects a decent attitude, a modicum of attentiveness, and the ability to deliver drinks in a timely fashion and as requested. I could order a drink in Applebee’s with a lime and get it but here they come with lemons and don’t even bother asking! And if you have kids, forget about it; it’s as if this place has never seen a human under the age of 40.
Overall a very big disappointment and a huge waste of money. Maybe we were there on a bad night but if you go be prepared to loudly speak up to ensure that you get what you want (even though you shouldn’t have to at these prices).
Great anniversary dinner
Amazing italian food with great drinks and great vibes
Slow & expensive. We have eaten at scarpatta several times. Last night I took my daughter and a friend and maybe because it was the start of the season it was fairly chaotic. The food is good but the service very slow and sporadic. Our waiter was concerned and doing his best but whatever was happening in the kitchen was beyond his control.
The clincher for me was that the wine was $18 a glass and when it was poured, filled 1/4 of the glass. I hoped it was an optical illusion but 3 swigs later, realized not so!
Great evening! We started with live music by Steve Cirelli in the bar overlooking the deck at Gurneys. Try the Italian Manhattan to slip into your Friday evening. Food and service were top notch - started with braised short ribs over polenta, followed by roasted chicken with spring vegetables. I also love the homemade spaghetti. There desserts are not to be missed either! Staff is always very attentive and friendly.
in my mind the purpose of restaurant week is to impress people who have not been to your restaurant before that it is so good they will come back.REally enjoyed food and atmosphere but found wine list way over priced, found the portion of fish served ridiculously small and miss a starch with an entree
Without question, the food was fantastic. However, that is all that was fantastic about this restaurant. The service was very slow, we didn't receive everything we ordered, drink orders had to be put in twice before they were received, and the waitstaff seemed to spend the evening sitting at a table talking amongst themselves. It was too expensive for the lousy service. The actual restaurant was also clearly undergoing renovations that detracted from the atmosphere. I wouldn't go back.
We made reservations for restaurant week because they initially had a soufflé for dessert. Upon arrival the menu had been changed to a pot de crème. The menu is subject to change so we swallowed our disappointment and continued with the reservation.
We were given a table that had been added to the dining room and was too tall for the chairs paired with it. The odd thing was that the restaurant was empty when we arrived so I’m not sure why we were put at the misfit table.
The food was just ok.
The short rib started tasted great but the farro risotto was stone cold. The signature spaghetti was salty and lacking any basil flavor at all. The chocolate cake was fabulous although swimming in a pool of melted gelato.
The drinks are very expensive, even for Newport. A glass of ginger ale is $5 and a tanqueray martini on the rocks is $16. It wasn’t even served in a martini glass.
Fine dining has a certain cadence; unfortunately Scarpetta is missing the beat.
Great food , great ambiance
It is a special occasion restaurant or a unique night out as it is expensive, but it is an exceptional dining experience!! The food and service was incredible!! The wait staff were professional, knowledgeable, and very personable. Beautiful restaurant on the water.
Thank you, wonderful food and great service :)
We will definitely recommend your restaurant to our family and friends.
Hotel restaurant that lacked energy
Awesome place to dine. Great menu and services. Definitely a good choice
Hidden gem. Will definitely go back. Waitress and good were both amazing.
It was pricy but you have to pay for quality. The location is unbeatable. Service and food were excellent.
Food was a bit expensive for portion sizes but delicious nonetheless. Great service and daytime views makes this a great date spot in Newport.
Our server was a pleasure and the food was delicious. Will definitely go back
Food and service were amazing! 10 in our party and all of us loved the experience! Will absolutely be back...
There good is off the charts! I’ve never had a bad meal here. I love starting with the Charred Octopus and Raw Yellowtail. The Spaghetti is the best in town!! Favorite place for date night.
Perfect place for a great meal in a beautiful setting! Food was excellent!
The service and food were excellent
Such a great dining experience from the time we walked in to the time we left. Everything was perfect, staff was welcoming and knowledgeable, table was set beautifully, and the food was beyond delicious.
Would not recommend this restaurant - service was incredibly slow. Over-priced for the experience.
Excellent restaurant! Loved everything we had. Our server, Debra did a great job explaining menu and vine list. We had an amazing experience.
Fantastic meal. Food was really excellent. Presentation and service were top notch. Wine list is extraordinary. Highly recommend.
Always a delight!
The yellowtail depicted in their web photo should not be missed. We also had the special (duck) and the pasta dish with lobster. Both were very good. We would definitely go back.
I was disappointed that I told the restaurant that it was a special occasion (anniversary) and nothing was done by them to celebrate this occasion.
Our server was excellent.
Food and service are always excellent. Menu is varied with crudo, apetizers, pasta, fish and meat. Octupus is always great!
Nice restaurant with good food, although not outstanding - to my taste. Nothing wrong, othet than the price, which was quite high.
I would recommend going for lunch on a sunny day, to enjoy the views and for dinner on a summer night. Maybe special ones, as cost can certainly add up.
Food was good and portion was pretty small. Service was excellent and the place is good for couples.
Food was delicious and the presentation was equally impressive. Portions are not the most generous; it was fine for me but not enough for my husband.
I found it good.
Service was fast and people very kind.
Great food and service. Beautiful view!
