About this restaurant

Long hailed as one of the top tables in the area, this Sichuan stalwart is settling into its new home just two miles away from its previous address in Alhambra. All of the usual hits are still in play—tea-smoked duck, big mouth ginger frog, mapo tofu—and the kitchen is still armed with its usual scarlet-red numbing oils and fiery, chopped chilis. One recent highlight was a cauldron of fish and rattan pepper boiled in a thrillingly complex broth rippling with numbing, spicy tones. A private room will serve large parties particularly well. All to say, the airy space, with its big windows and bright lights, is a welcome change that has not come at the expense of the cooking. The restaurant has additional locations in Tustin and West Los Angeles.

No Alhambra road trip needed 🚗 💨 , @sichuan_impression_’s West LA location is bringing the same heat 🔥🥵! From pork dumplings 🥟 to seriously spicy 🌶️ boiled fish, and don’t event get me started on the sweet potato 🍠 balls 🤤. Pro tip: grab a Tsingtao beer 🍻 + DM “Spicy2025” to @sichuan_impression_ for a free voucher for those sweet potato balls.

✨AUTHENTIC MICHELIN-RATED SICHUAN FOOD IN WEST LA✨ Many have said that this is the most authentic Chinese food in Los Angeles outside of the SGV, and I’m so glad to have a place this good closer to home. ✨ Flavors of Sichuan, done right at Sichuan Impression. (@sichuan_impression_) 🍽️ Modern ambiance, just-right portions, and bold yet balanced flavors made this a standout experience. The tea smoked pork ribs and duck were the highlight—smoky, savory, and unforgettable. Here’s what we had: Steamed pork ribs with rice flour Mushroom chicken soup with rice Mini lamb skewer (tender and juicy) Tea smoked pork ribs (favorite) Impressive bean jelly Tea smoked duck (favorite) Rice cake with brown sugar Three house-made drinks Every dish brought its own flavor—nothing too spicy, just rich and satisfying. 📍 We visited their Alhambra location: 235 West Main St Ste B, Alhambra, CA 91801 They also have locations in Tustin, Los Angeles, and City of Industry. #SichuanImpression #TeaSmokedduck #FoodieEats #ModernChineseCuisine #FlavorfulBites #AlhambraEats #SGVFoodie #lafood

Dumplings were worthy of their name, as well as toothpick lamb. Really great food all around, definitely check this place out. The rose tea was absurdly sweet, so we watered it down at the table. Ginseng tea was lovely. Service was okay.

We did Dine La and the price is unbeatable! 4 people for $78 come on? Best deal in town, great food, friendly staff. I love the computer menu, no wait no hassle , in and out on your own terms. Goodbye to the days of waiting for server to come to your table, I mean good riddance. Highly recommend kung pao chicken.

Overall, one of the better Chinese restaurants around. Spacious 2nd floor establishment (good for groups), very airy with colorful murals and subtle lighting. Easy to miss from one angle outside. Not being big fans of valet parking, especially since the place is in a modest shopping plaza, we parked on the south side of Santa Monica Boulevard and walked over. I wasn't a fan either of those digital menu boards, but fortunately, a nice staff person eventually came to our rescue. Feels like a family-run operation, which is mostly positive. The servings were generous and reasonably priced, the dishes, fresh, tasty and colorful. I'll not bore you with descriptions of each one, but standouts were the ribs, wontons, and green beans with ground beef. The "toothpick" lamb, though, was a tad"rubbery," and the chili fried chicken way too salty to the point that most of the latter went untouched after the first few bites. You can't win'em all, as generally the food was quite tasty. I would definitely go back. PS Traditional Sichuan fare apparently is quite "spicy." If you're a wimpy anglo dude like myself, tell them to skip the heavy (or mild) stuff.

When you want authentic Chinese food, this is the place. The tea smoked duck was exactly as described, and the portions are very generous. If you ask for chili anything, don't eat the chilies, they are for great taste but if you suck one down there wont be enough water. This is a place Chinese go to eat as it reminds them of home so its a go to place.

Amazing amazing food, our favorite dish was the Tea Smokes Ribs!!! We also got the Fries squid dry pot and the Home-Style Fried Rice, which tasted great as well.

This is as authentic as it gets. If you're an adventurous eater. This place is for you. If you don't like spicy, choose the mild spicy option for all your food. Highly recommend the beef hot pot.

DineLA 2026 menu - yum! Our must haves: fried chili chicken, fish with rattan pepper medium spicy, tea smoked pork ribs, Taiwanese lettuce garlic style, Mabo tofu. We even had some non spicy eaters - so we had to order them simple stuff that i didnt try.

food served lukewarm on cold platter, shrimp tasted spoiled, receipt revealed that the waiter had specified “mild” spicy even though we repeatedly said medium, staff never checked with us to see if food was ok or if we needed anything : food and service was the worst ever experienced in Los Angeles
