SOLE Seafood & Grill
Amazing restaurant with delicious food and excellent service.
Very nice restaurant
Food was amazing, great selection of drinks
Very friendly staff
Would highly recommend
Fantastic night at Sole. The food was top notch and the service was excellent. We will be back!
Great service and restaurant, staters portions and wine portion are bit small, but except this staff was amazing, professionnal, available and the personal present touch was very great at the end, as it was for 5 years celebration with my wife, thanks a lot :)
Lovely meal and nice staff but service was extremely slow. Over 40 minutes wait between courses risked ruining the evening. Free wine top-up was a nice gesture but as my guests were elderly it wasn't what was needed.
Wonderful staff, excellent food, beautiful space. Completely recommend☺️
We love seafood, so gave SOLE a try. The seafood was delicious, but overpriced. We had the tuna tartar, scallops, John Dory, and salmon. The fig mille feuille was dry, nondescript, not satisfying. It was crowded, noisy, not very private, and we felt pressured by the hovering wait staff. We preferred The Seafood Cafe, our choice for seafood in Dublin.
The food was just amazing! We loved everything we ate. It is definitely a great place for seafood. I had the gnocchis with crabs and for appetizer, smoke Howth salmon. My mum took the squid tempura and for the main course fish pie which was delicious. For dessert we went with our waiter’s recommandation and we really enjoyed it. A mousse of passion fruit with chocolate. Overall we loved the decor and the music they played. I will definitely go back next time I’m in Dublin!
I love this restaurant. The food is delicious with fantastic wine and the service is very good.
Very good seafood, service ok, the room seems to be noisy....if you went more privacy, ask the little room at rear.
My partner and I enjoy eating out regularly and are in the lucky position to be able to eat at the some of the most highly rated restaurants in Dublin. We booked a sitting at the bar for dinner on a Saturday night. My partner started with the the tuna tartare and enjoyed it. I had the monkfish skewer and also enjoyed it. Once the starters were finished, we were left waiting for our main courses for about 45 minutes. When the main dishes came, my partners wolf-fish, which was the days special, was only lukewarm and mediocre. My fish pie should have been renamed as a salmon fish pie as there was nothing other than salmon in it.
The service was ok up until the waitress spilling a jug of water over me. There was a lack of apology and no offer of a complimentary desert or after dinner drink as recompense.
We wouldn’t recommend this place and certainly will not be in any rush to go back.
It was very busy the Saturday night my husband and I went to Sole but the waiting staff did not offer us the set menu when we sat down and did not tell us the specials on that evening.
The wine selection was very comprehensive but starting prices were quite expensive.
The food was fantastic, good portion sizes and lots of choice.
Everything was perfect about our night out in Sole. The food , atmosphere and I must commend the waiter. He had the perfect level of professionalism mixed with fun and character. Would definitely recommend to friends and will be back for more.
5pm seating, staff relaxed, friendly and welcoming. Good menu on offer.
The food was excellent, the portions were generous and the staff were superb. Our server Ante was very attentive without being overbearing. We'll definitely be back
This was our last evening of a 17 day holiday in Ireland and our 22 nd anniversary.Service was impeccable, food was amazing and they sent a lovely plate for our anniversary and my birthday...they even hailed us a cab! Felt like we were in a NY restaurant...a delicious pleasure!
Had an absolutely fab experience in SOLE. the interior is absolutely amazing! The staff are super friendly and really know how to set a nice experience for the guests. Extremely impressed with service. In particular Ante was so sweet when he was serving our table and the service was perfect. My partner got the serloin steak and I got the garlic pasta with prawns. Scallops for starter. All dishes were faultless and tasted exceptional! Meat so tender and the past, so different and so fab! Overall 10/10 and will be back for sure
Food was good as was the service.. It was my first time and I had heard so many good reports maybe my expectations were a little high. While the fish in general was excellent little things like the quality of the chips were not what you would expect from a 5 star restaurant. Maybe a little more attention should be paid to the sides.
Best seafood in Europe or perhaps the world, Ana the head chef was of course amazing and so was Lubo who served us, a very fine establishment!
I booked this meal for my brother and sister in law, visiting from Australia and celebrating their 45 wedding anniversary. They had a lovely night, made even more special by their anniversary being acknowledged by the staff. Thank you very much!
Thoroughly enjoyed recent visit: delicious food, fresh, well presented and flavoured. Thank you to the chef and to all the staff who made us feel very welcome and attended to us quickly and efficiently. Great decor and atmosphere. Looking forward to eating at Sole again. Congratulations on your recent award, well deserved.
Great service and even better food.
Expensive for what you get, food quality poor, staff were friendly
Very overrated, the service was poor and everything took a long while even thought it was cold seafood that we had, the seafood tower for main was awful for €115 the top of it was stone cold out waiter didn’t even come over to ask how our food was. Would never go back again very poor
My family enjoyed Seafood Tower, which is full of seafood!
Food was excellent. Venue was lovely. Staff were very attentive and observant. Prosecco was given to all patrons on Saturday evening to help you celebrate. Our waiter saw the prosecco at our table and brought me a non alcoholic cocktail instead. I'm 8 months pregnant and had ordered one of your non alcoholic cocktails earlier in the evening. It was a was lovely gesture and not one I'll forget. I've already told a few people about the experience. We will highly recommend the restaurant! Thank you. Nora Cashe
Really the qualify of the food was very poor. I had monkfish and red mullet. The monkfish was tough and overcooked. The red mullet was ok but it was "dumped" on a pile of couscous and the sauce has no taste. Its a pity as its a nice venue with friendly staff. But if you hold yourselves out as a top fish venue customers expect exceptional fish cooked to perfection.
Lovely dining experience, as always.
Everything was delicious from start to finish, and the service was great
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Great staff, and classic 1950s/60s Jazz on sound system. 10/10.
Fantastic Birthday meal. Ricardo was exceptional. Will definitely return.
Wine was very slow coming to table.
We should have been advised about side with the table menu.
It included tea/coffee but we went asked if we wanted any. When my husdand order coffee and I got Irish coffee it took A while to come. The waiter did apologise.
We then where charged €3 for his coffee.
We enjoyed the food and would come back. Staff lovely. They where little things on the night.
Food and service both amazing, I had the prawn cocktail has to be one of the nicest I’ve tasted and the extra sauce on the side was a nice touch
Nice decor/bar. Good drinks- food very good. Great location..
Very good food. Really enjoyed the lobster and oysters. The Tower set meal is very good value for money.
The Fillet of Bass with tempura broccoli was sublime! 4 of my group of 6 opted for fish & chips, it looked ok but I think they lost out on the finer options of the set menu. A lovely evening and the restaurant pleasantly busy for a Tuesday evening! Well trained and welcoming staff.
No complaints. Overall a very nice dining experience. I brought my folks to celebrate me finishing a course that I was doing. The atmosphere, decor and ambiance were perfect. I only have a small appetite so I tend to get 'doggy bags' to take home with me. Maybe you guys should think of some recyclable/biodegradable packaging to put these leftovers into. I can't imagine I was the only person to ask if I could box my food up after we were finished eating?!? But maybe I was...
We'll be back and my folks were so pleased with the whole experience that they too have decided to take their clients there on occasion.
Thank you was a pleasurable evening.
Great menus. Had oysters and doversole. All made and cooked well. Staff very polite and service oriented.
Amazing seafood. I especially love the oysters! So fresh! Service was first class. Would definitely come back if I have the chance.
First time there certainly wont be my last
Food & service was great.
Sole is a sleek modern restaurant. That's the best news. While the restaurant has promise, there are glaring issues.
During our very recent visit, the kitchen steam alarm jarringly and repeatedly went off at ever increasing intervals. The police were called. As we departed, with the alarm screaming from the outside, a man on the phone said, "I'm going to turn the system off". Dinner in an expensive restaurant is not enjoyable under these circumstances.
Unfortunately, the food need work as well. For Dublin, this is an expensive restaurant. That's okay as long as there is value in exchange. The Seafood Towers are very expensive but uneven in delivery. Crab were hot, small and very much overcooked. The dressing in the lettuce wrap overwhelmed the small prawns. On the positive side, the oysters and mussels (think these are winners on the main's sides) were wonderful. Our mains uneven as well. Gnocchi were okay, steamed salmon and John Dory were very good.
Service was attentive but not stellar. Forty minutes between starters and mains is a stretch.
Value and pricing don't quite add up. Here's hoping the owner and chef tighten up the ship for smoother sailing.
