Had a great evening on my solo trip. Oysters were delicious. For the main I had a sea-bass - was good too. Side - spinach was little overcooked but it didn't spoil my supper.

Food all competently executed but as a tasting menu not really that special. Dishes came at slightly too fast a tempo for a tasting menu. It was all nice but nothing exceptionally memorable. Oysters were good, scallop pleasant. Best course was the sea bass which was well balanced. My partner thought it was under-seasoned but was perfect for me. Sorbet was good. With the beef course we both though that overall the dish was too salty with both the sauce and the crumb on the plate being very salty. One or the other, not both! The steaks were perfectly cooked to order and whilst the langoustines delivered well on flavour, the texture was slightly on the chewy side. Overall we both thought the beef course including vegetables was slightly too large for a tasting menu. Perhaps if the dishes had been more spaced out it wouldn’t have felt so filling. Dessert was good if not exceptional - again a reduction in portion size might be of benefit - the passion fruit mousse filling was tasty but simply too much of it in proportion to the other ingredients on the plate. Nice coffee. Overall worth a visit but maybe our expectations were set quite high on account of the accolades the restaurant has garnered.

Dear Pat, I am surprised you did not find our tasting menu exceptional as the majority of guests do. Apologies if you felt the tempo of the tasting menu was to fast for you, however if you have had let us know on the evening, we would have slow down the service at your convenienece. I am sorry you did not enjoy the beef and tiger prawns. I have passed your comments to our Head Chef. Please contact me at gm@sole.ie should you wish to discuss this further Kind regards, Victor N. General Manager

The staff were perfect. Helpful in explaining dinner options. Checked in to see how we were getting on but weren’t intrusive at all

Small item - 9pm booming and table was not ready until 915 and bar was too full to access and get a drink - they should contact customers proactively to notify of delays.

Service was good, nicely decorated. Very noisy and tables are quite close.
I had the fish and chips, the flesh of the fish was beautiful however the batter was soggy. Wife had John dory and was happy with what she had. €134 for two including a bottle of wine is expensive by European standards but I suppose the norm for Dublin.

The food was good but waited for nearly an hour between starters and main course. When I asked the manager what the delay was he said it’s a Saturday night and we are busy . Not the answer I would have expected . He was quite blunt with me. When I asked another manager , I was told that there was a mess up with our order . They took the drinks off the bill but we didn’t go there to get free drinks . I would rather get a good service and pay in full .

Absolutely beautiful food. Highest standard I think I’ve ever eaten. Steak melted in my mouth and a good choice of oysters. The Atmosphere was perfect and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be coming back when I’m in Dublin next.

I cannot fault the food at all. And I understand the need to utilise available space but once again an outstanding meal was slightly let down by a small table. We were a party of four and struggled to make room for all of our plates.

Very nice seafood restaurant in Dublin. Nice spot to go for a date. On the pricey side, but the food is great and the atmosphere is great.
