SOLE Seafood & Grill
While the service was great, the food was pretty disappointing unfortunately - Average at best. However, the staff are awesome - professional, knowledgeable and just plain lovely!
Fantastic menu, with food that matched and great service. One of the best fish restaurants in Dublin
Great chowder and fish n chips
This is a very special place and we cannot wait to go back again.
Food is excellent - staff are special and a very welcoming.
Cannot recommend it enough.
Great food and service from Luke.Would definitely go back agay
Having spent 4 nights in Dublin and this being the final of the 4 meals, I can comfortably say that it was the best of all. Charming staff, stunning interior, outstanding wine list and food so good I may fly back just for it alone.
The service was amazing, the atmosphere was fantastic and the food was simply outstanding. Best fish restaurant in Dublin by far! I am pescatarian, so I have eaten many fabulous fish dishes and my meal in Sole was right up there with some of the best fish I have ever eaten. The fish was cooked to perfection and was served with components that complimented the fish perfectly - absolutely delicious. Would recommend to everyone - New favorite restaurant!
Incredibly good. Four of us had the 6 course taster menu. I highly recommend this option. Every dish was outstanding. The seafood was the best I’ve ever had anywhere and the steak was melt in the mouth. Service was exceptionally friendly, well paced and knowledgeable. Decor was beautiful with areas cleverly sectioned off to be intimate for small tables or lively with bigger parties. I will be back!
Lovely venue we sat at the window people watching. Great menu. Staff are exceptional. Friendly, relaxed and attentive when necessary.
I left my first ever Trip Advisor review for you guys!
Loved your restaurant! By far my best dining experience in Dublin for quite some time. Food was fabulous as I expected but the staff were a delight with their attention to detail, unassuming presence and subtle efficiency.
My wonderful experience was aided being in the company of lovely friends. We barely had time to come up for air amid our determination to get all our stories told!
Thank you - until the next time
My best regards
Het eten was zeer lekker, maar aan de prijzige kant, wat normaal is voor deze klasse van qualiteit en bediening.
Overall a great experience. The only remark I have is concerning the Coquilles St. Jaques, they were a bit watery and slightly tougher than I expected. If not for this I would have given 5 stars for everything.
Amazed bet this place. Kind and friendly stuff, great choice, fresh products, high choice of whines.
Unbelievable food, top notch service. The seafood tower is to die for! 5* all round!
Fiona was incredibly attentive and the food was delicious. Thanks Sole!!
We choose the early bird menu. We turned up earlier than we had reserved and they were able to accommodate us no problem. The service was really good and the waiters were all very friendly. I had scallops and seabass. Scallops were cooked perfectly and seabass was lovely too. It didn't come with sides, but after the starter I didn't need it. Although some people may prefer more food. We shared a bottle of New Zealand white and went for cocktails instead of dessert; my sisters had a espresso martini each, which wasn't on the menu and I had an old fashioned. All were very nice. The decor was modern and toilets clean. It was lovely experience overall and I would recommend based on what I ate.
Everything was perfect, highly recommend, will be back again soon
Excellent! Have been meaning to come for ages and will definitely be back! Fun dining room decor which we liked very much. Great service - thank you Leo, Ante and Emile. Gorgeous food, beautiful and fresh and fabulous wine choices. Very nice indeed and a new favourite.
Great food, service and atmosphere
I am glad I made my reservation in Sole. Dinner for 2 people the attention and the food were both amazing. The glossy decor and comfortable feel throughout was perfect. Seating at the bar counter is what i will try the next night out. I would highly recommend Sole to anyone looking for the ultimate dining experience.
Amazing restaurant. First we had a beautiful mushroom tart. Then we had the swordfish which was the special of the day. It was cooked to perfection. We had the brownie dessert that was great. The interior is comfortable and beautifully designed. Excellent wine choices. A must for seafood lovers in Dublin.
I had such great expectations for my meal as I had heard some good reports about the food.
Unfortunately on the day we booked the food was only average . I had the chowder to start that was OK not wow . My friend had the smoked salon which she enjoyed. For the main course we both had the sea bass which was under seasoned and to be honest a bit overcooked. The potatoes and garnishes on the plate were cold as if they had been plated some time before the fish was ready - overall we were very disappointed. Our waiter was quite intrusive reaching across us over a railing to clear the table.
Not sure I would be back.
Fanastic food, even better service (thanks to Ante)! If you like seafood, excellent service, and delicious beverages - this is the place to be. Ask for the Hearty Oysters!
Excellent all around from starter (the scallops were cooked perfectly and had a delightful sauce) to mains (the fish pie is exceptional here and the sea bass is also delicious and the desserts we couldn’t pass up and proved to be worth every calorie. Great wine selection, and wonderfully attentive staff. Highly recommend!
When we arrived we were waiting almost 10 minutes(no apology) before anyone even greeted us. It was an extremely long wait between courses. The food is overpriced. I ordered scallops to start which were fantastic. My steak was meant to be medium but was rare. The restaurant itself has great ambience and the servers were friendly.
We went on a Monday night, the restaurant was full. We had tuna tartar and monkfish skewers to start. The tartar was delicious but the monkfish skewers were a little dry and needed a lot of the soy sauce which ended up making it taste salty. We shared the Sole tower which was lovely and a good size to divide between two people. We had delicious chips to accompany the dish. The desert, a chocolate brownie was also lovely, unfortunately the fig dish wasn't available which was our first choice. Service was attentive and very good overall.
Our booking was for 7 so it was pretty quiet when we arrived. We were seated at the bar and it all started out quite well. However it soon became busy and the service took a massive nosedive. The staff couldn't handle the pressure at all. We asked for our bill and then waited 15/20 to try and actually pay for it, each time we tried to get the attention of a staff member we were ignored. The food was the worst though, we ordered monkfish skewers for starter, steamed salmon and john dory for mains, all of which were over cooked. The mains don't come with sides either and considering the cost, this is in my opinion quite miserable. The calamari was the only thing we ordered which wasn't overcooked. I wouldn't return and certainly wouldn't recommend to anyone. There is far too much to improve on and the cost of the food is far from worth it.
Brilliant evening with friends, great way to celebrate my birthday. Food was amazing
Was disappointed to be honest.we had been before and we were celebrating a birthday we were really looking forward to it.
I found the food portions for the mains very poor. I had the John dory it was lovely but came with minut portions of veg.very small .my partner was worse he had tge sea bass equally delicious but one tiny purple potatoe. We had asked waiter when ordering woukd we need to order sides and he said not really. We knew was expensive and the quality if the fish was superb but ' too face on a plate for us ' Hungry shortly afterwards so we wont be back .!
Went here as a couple to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. The staff were great, our waiter Ante was incredible - super attentive and helpful. Starters were delicious and good value however I got the special Sea Bream which arrived as plain as I’ve ever seen fish. No garnish, just some coleslaw on the side and a bowl of boiled potatoes. Not even a lemon! Super bland (I used my boyfriends sauce to make it taste better) and overpriced (€28). My boyfriend got the King Crab legs (€60) which were delicious and novelty but again super overpriced. Espresso martini was great. Overall nice for an occasion if you’re willing to splash out but as a seafood lover, I’ve definitely had much better for much cheaper. But the service and ambience was top notch.
Great food, great service - highly recommended!
Sole is a little bit a victim of its own success. The food is undoubtedly great. My sole meunière was particularly good. The scallops with bacon starter was slightly lacking in seasoning but had wonderful texture. The problem is the tables are so close together that you might as well befriend your neighbours and have dinner with them. Whilst noise levels in some ways assure discretion, this isn’t the place for a confidential or romantic conversation.
Excellent gourmet restaurant. We enjoyed all the dishes we had. Especially delicious was the sea food chowder which was so delicate and find comparing to all other chowders we had . Service was impeccable, professional and yet friendly. We had a great evening
It was a first trip to Sole for both of us and we enjoyed ourselves. The food was great, most tables in the table area were taken and there was good atmosphere without being noisy.
There was a service glitch resulting in a delay with our order and the management in turn looked after us at billing time - a nice gesture which we both appreciated.
No rush to get us out of there and we ended up spending almost three hours catching up and chatting away nineteen to the dozen.
We will go back.
Awesome dinning experience with delicious seafood platter and excellence service!
Had a fantastic meal here on our last day in Dublin, we loved everything about Sole. We had oysters, monkfish skewers, John Dory and steak. It was all cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. We even managed to squeeze in a dessert! There is quite and extensive wine list and they do offer a number of set menus.
Lovely bright and welcoming restaurant with a warm buzz. Ideal bar setting for a pre dinner cocktail. Food was amazing especially the Norwegian crab legs, definitely worth a try for a special occasion. Ricardo served us and he was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back!
Amazing restaurant with delicious food and excellent service.
