I always get dinner at Sophies when staying at The Dean but the quality of the food hasn’t been the best lately. We ordered the seared chicken with pasta and it was absolutely bland. The same situation about the 10 oz Sirloin of beef. Disappointed when it comes to quality and taste considering the price. Ive tried way better meals for half the price.

Excellent brunch. We had the Chicken and Waffle and Eggs Benedict. Both meals were delicious. Perfectly filling. Staff were attentive and friendly. Having had a less than stellar previous visit I’m glad that everything was back on form. Keep up the good work.

Great location - outstanding views of the city! Food was delicious, the staff were very friendly and efficient, and the overall cost was reasonable. The restaurant decor was lovely too. It was my first time there, I hope it won't be my last!

We were celebrating a friends birthday and although we had been to Sophies before we were still impressed with every aspect of the restaurant. The views are good although the building works counter the vista a little. However everything else was excellent - our server (Luke) was superb, chatting as he served us and ensuring everything was as it should be. He was a large part of making the evening extra special. Food was excellent - good value overall.

The waffles are really hard, thus has happened twice in visiting, it’s like they’ve been microwaved and they aren’t fresh. Also the mushroom and spinach hash didn’t have very much mushroom or Spinach in it- we had to ask for more. Otherwise it is just very expensive potatoes!! Seems like the portion sizes have gone down in the last month or so. Staff are great though. I’d recommend opening for brunch at 11.30 rather than 12. And serving Bloody Marys!

Service went down from last time I was there. There were amazing emmebes of staff, but just 1,2, most are lost. Food is very expensive for what you get and quality.. Was really disappointed.. Location, amazing! Something changed and I am not sure what as I used to love this place and would always choose it for any celebrations.

Lovely venue, very close to the rail station. Smart and upmarket aesthetically but the quality of the food doesn’t match the prices. The food is far from bad but there is no wow factor that you would expect from such a venue.

Too expensive compared with past visits. Kids had pancakes with rashers. €29.90 for the two portions of pancakes and a further €7.90 for the two rasher portions. Total bill for four of us for Brunch €87.60, with one non alcoholic drink each. Won't be going back.

Our waitress was friendly and food arrived on time.Our meal was tasty yet for the price,sides should be included. Desert was disappointing!When we asked for two spoons,we expected it to be larger than what we received. When booking i pointed out that it was an occasion yet this wasn't acknowledged on the night. Overall overpriced

Its ok. As we were staying in the fabulous 'The Dean' we opted for this for an easy but cool dinner choice. Great venue and very cool. Lovely welcoming team. Great cocktails. BUT - food was just ok, one meal we didnt finish due to size (way too big) and poor quality. We kinda wanted the whole picture, and we got great venue and drinks, but food that at best could be called average.

Sophie's restaurant on the 6th floor of the award winning Dean Hotel must surely be the new have to experience to go to dining location in Cork City. Central located next to the Railway station, within walking distance from the shopping streets of Patrick Street and Oliver Plunkett St, Sophies provides a top class dining experience with quality Irish produce served by attentive and friendly staff. If you can get one of the outdoor seats giving wonderful views across the city, all the better. Blankets and heaters are provided if required. Yesterday the sun shone in Cork so the only requirement was for my shades.
