Sophie's @ The Dean Dublin
Our New York – Italian – Irish menu is simple and delicious. Meats, fish, vegetables, fruits, herbs and dairy delivered daily by local suppliers. The restaurant vibe changes from a laid back sunrise through a buzzing sunset. A view like no other in Dublin, cityscape to countryside. No fuss, no formality, book a table and enjoy.
Food was lovely. Service was superb. Would defiantly go again. Only complaint was there was not a great option for starters.
The food was top quality, nicest full Irish I’ve ever had and I’ve had many!
The only issue was we gave in the bill and never got our change back (€5)
It was just assumed that this was the tip, which we were planning on giving anyways but I just found it poor that it was not given back to us initially.
Lovely venue, the staff were fab, the wine was delicious and it's really lovely that they still have the affordable pizzas on the menu in the evenings in addition to the pricier mains. Had a really lovely night.
Great spot for brunch! Buttermilk pancakes were fab. We will certainly be back.
Perfect place for our first meal in Dublin !
Perfect atmosphere, perfect food !
We were over charged for some items , they showed us a different menu to demonstrate where the higher came when we questioned it. It took a while for them to lower the price , but when it was it was all ok.
Food felt a bit rushed , wasn’t enough time between meals. Overall we had a lovely evening bar the issues mentioned above
The service was amazing I definitely would recommend it to a friend I would definitely go again the food was amazing and the atmosphere was great
Lovely place was expecting it to be a lot more expensive.
Food is a bit over priced. Unless you get a booth you are sitting on top of other people. Nice space though and great view of Dublin.
Everybody enjoyed their meals. The staff were really friendly. There was a good atmosphere around the place. Will definitely be going back :-)
Service, atmosphere & views were excellent.
Food quality didn't quite match the high expectation although pizza bases @ thick, smoky toppings needed more flavour esp. cherry tomatoes & mozzarella. Pasta dishes with ragu or seafood were good.
Classy touch @ end of meal with nice, warm & understated presentation of ice creams & a candle to celebrate the birthday occasion which had been mentioned in online reservation.
Booked a table for 2 on a Monday evening. Staff we're very friendly from the moment we walked in. Our table was ready for the reserved time and we were attended to quickly. Food was amazing, presentation was also very nice. Waitresses made sure everything was ok throughout meal.
Service was not the best. Left waiting by front of house for 10mins, when we arrived at 2.30pm for our 2.30pm booking we were told our table wasn't ready, made no apologies. View from the restaurant is absolutely amazing though, this is definitely what this place vets by on. Food mediocre and cocktails were very small.
Very good but please not The all Irish breafast does not include mushrooms so you would need to order them as a side dish.
On a sunny day (yes it does happen) the first table to the left is too hot as that window has no blind
The best Caesar salad ever, the restaurant was lovely, clean, open and nice views, as expected from a rooftop restaurant. The staff were so friendly and the service was great. Would definitely go back.
What can I say, this is definitely the most hyped restaurant in Dublin. The view, venue is amazing but the food can be better.
- Ordered Steak Filet, Medium Rare and got Medium Well.
- Ordered 2 portions of Fries, but they were still raw. Sent them back to the kitchen where they refried them and added an extra portion of Salt.
- The Coca Cola had no gas at all, basically drinking a cold syrup
- Was given the worst table ever, table 1. Behind me the pizza oven and the table where they put and grab all the cutlery. Asked 3 times for a different table but each time they just gave it to another guest
Conclusion, ideal place for drinks but for dinner no.
I really enjoyed the experience but found the restaurant very cold and this impacted negatively on the night.
Super restaurant très class. Les plats sont délicieux et bien décorés
I had food envy looking at everyone else's plates! It really is the kind of menu where everything sounds so nice that you don't know what to order. There was 8 of us and everyone ordered something different and found their meal really enjoyable. Staff were lovely and helpful and not over bearing. Reasonably priced too for that part of the city.
Second time at Sophie’s food was fab and sitting out on the rooftop after having drinks was the highlight
Beautiful surroundings, food and cocktails what more would you want!
We went for brunch on Sunday. It was fab friendly staff and great food.
The food was very good and the view amazing, but the service was poor. Staff should be better trainned to be more friendly.
This experience was not at all like previous visits I’ve had to Sophie’s. Would never normally review but we felt so deflated leaving. Table booked for 2, arrived at 2:15 due to traffic which was our fault completely. Our table was not ready for us, we waited in the bar until 2:30. Bar man was extremely rude to us while ordering drinks as we waited in the bar for our table to be ready. This really tainted the entire day for us. Table service was good, food came out almost straight away after we ordered it ( normally would have expected at least 10 minutes break between ordering and eating). It was very sunny that day and the sun was shining in through the window into our eyes. I looked around and several other people were covering their eyes from the glare but nobody turned down the blind. Toilets were very cold. I believe there needs to be more of an emphasis on service for the prices being charged. Would consider other places before Sophie’s for next time based on this experience which is unfortunate as I really really enjoyed it the last time! Maybe it was just an off day.
I booked this for a party of 8 work colleagues and everyone really enjoyed it. The food was excellent; pretty much steaks all round with a variety of starters and desserts. For my own part I had Scallops to start (amazing) then a main of Sirloin, which was perfectly cooked, accompanied by the Parmesan/Tarragon/Chorizo crumble fries which were excellent. I skipped dessert but my colleagues enjoyed theirs. The service was spot on and the restaurant itself very comfortable with superb views of Dublin. Although it’s not cheap I do think it’s worth the money, I will most certainty be back at some point!
Service was superb they really took care of us on our special night.
Food overpriced, greasy dishes e.g. duck, chips.Too many pasta dishes. All mains are same price apart from stake. 27e is too expensive for a pasta dish.
while staying in Dublin have visited Sophie's twice, and not been disappointed - lovely views of the city and tasty food made for some wonderful evenings, thanks
Food was fabulous as always in Sophies and the staff were so lovely. Great atmosphere and a great night.
Fantastic food, great ambience and service. Scallops and Pizza were delicious and great value
Great food, service, value and setting. Well worth a visit
The restaurant space is amazing and part of the experience. Our waitress was outstanding and made the experience even better. Food is good but on the expensive side for what you are getting. Overall fantastic with points deducted due to expense.
Great night in fabulous restaurant. Service was amazing. Kate was our server and she was so lovely! We went for special occasion of my boyfriends birthday and they gave us a dessert and candle in it for free of charge. Will definitely be back! Thank you.
Great pizza, great service just a little on the expensive side but worth it
Fantastic food and lovely service - went to Sophie's for a family birthday. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Cocktails were delicious and beautiful scenic views of Dublin. We will definitely be back soon.
Great spot. Great food but a bit pricey. We had to send back two water glasses as they had chips in the rims but apart from that everything else was very good. Great views out over town.
Great food and service would highly reccommend. I have been here a number of times now with small and large groups never any complaints
The simple fact I use this restaurant on average once a month and have done so since it opened should say everything that is needed. Great atmosphere, the views are great, the food excellent and the staff always friendly and attentive.
amazing staff- made such a special evening and were made to feel so welcome. Food was amazing too! Only downside was not too sure on the espresso martinis.. flavour was different but maybe that’s just personal taste!
All In all was such a great evening and the staff were brilliant.
Superb experience loved it. Fabulous Boozy brunch for a 50th Birthday
