It was another warm Summer's day so we were directed to the roof which looked out on to 180 degrees of construction, potted plants were dead and there was no umbrellas to provide shade. The alternative was downstairs inside which was totally empty. The Brunch menu is very short and has none of the traditional brunch items we expected. What we had was very nice but we choice was very limited. Our server was excellent. Overall, probably an OK restaurant for evening meals inside.

Dear Brian, Thank you for your feedback, and especially for recognising our excellent server and that the food you chose was very nice. I must admit I did smile at the 180 degrees of construction! Sadly, London’s building works are rather beyond our control, and Sparrow’s Nest was here long before any of it began. We do our very best to maintain the plants despite five heatwaves in three months and temperatures reaching 36°C, keeping a rooftop garden alive has been quite the challenge! Maybe for next year a full time gardener. Regarding brunch, we offer around 11 dishes alongside our wider à la carte menu of 30+ options, so there is considerably more choice available. Perhaps on a cooler London day we can change your mind with a fab experience indoors. Warmest regards, Theodore

I had a very disappointing experience at Sparrow Italia. The biggest issue was the dress code. I was wearing smart shorts and was told I could not sit inside because I wasn’t wearing long trousers. However, this was never mentioned when I made the reservation. If there is a strict dress code, it should be clearly communicated in advance rather than surprising guests upon arrival. Although they eventually allowed me to dine, I was seated near the entrance instead of the main dining area, while the beautiful upstairs section with the olive tree was unavailable to me. This immediately affected the whole experience and made me feel unwelcome. The food was another disappointment. We ordered the octopus, Wagyu, lobster pasta and monkfish, but none of the dishes stood out. The portions were very small, the quality was average, and the prices were extremely high for what was served. The wines were also noticeably small. Overall, the atmosphere was nothing special, especially since we weren’t allowed to sit in the main dining area. Considering the high prices, I expected a premium dining experience, but unfortunately the food, service and overall value all fell well below expectations. There are many Italian restaurants in London offering far better food, service and value. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in London. I would not recommend this restaurant.

I'm sorry to read your review, particularly as I was present throughout much of your visit. Our dress code is outlined on our website and in your booking confirmation. As you arrived in sports shorts, our team did everything possible to accommodate you, including offering freshly laundered chinos and, alternatively, a table on Sparrow's Nest. Both options were declined. I was surprised by comments regarding the food, as our team checked in throughout your meal and received only positive feedback at the time. Had we known you were disappointed, we would have gladly addressed it immediately. While I respect tastes differ we have noted your views & thank you for sharing on several public platforms.

My husband and I dined at Sparrow Italia Mayfair on our last night in London, and it was the perfect way to end our trip. The food, drinks, and service were all wonderful. Our Hostess/server PIA Was of expectational quality, we started off with cocktails and Aricina balls, followed by pasta chicken and kale salad ( unbelievable) the restaurant was buzzing and the ambience of a smooth groove RnB scene. Stunning place thank you to Pia.

Told it was a sharing menu but not really for sharing! Overpriced wine! Faux trees too large for the room. If you need the loo, allow 20 mins as it’s a floor lower & busy.Not a great experience
