Great experience, lovely views. Would highly recommend. Perhaps a more child friendly kids menu would be the only suggestion.

We went to Squires Landing for our anniversary and really enjoyed our evening with gorgeous views of the harbour bridge and opera house. We had a lovely meal and a bottle of Prosecco and was served by a waiter by the name of Mitch who was fantastic. We would highly recommend this place for a Special Occassion, or otherwise!

We enjoyed the ambience, the noise level was good - we could have conversations without having to yell. The service was ordinary. My steak was nearly inedible- in fact I gave it to my husband who like raw steak. It was very raw and chewy- not what I expected for the money we paid. I did not complain, even though now I wish I had. The wine was notable. I would return for the ambience and the views but may consider the bar downstairs as the meals were over priced and of a poor standard and the service was appalling- I even had to ask for water a number of times.

The food at this place is a little mediocre especially for the price point. The only thing amazing about this place is the view. You decide if you were more interested in the view or in the food. They also messed up on our order two times

This was my second dining experience here with 4 friends. I found the service slow and somewhat laxadadical given the prices being charged I expect 5 star service. Staff were chatting, nobody at the entry to greet me. Despite booking far in advance we were seated inside a table back from the window and there was a birthday that had fully booked out the glass vestibule area. A ship was also in so there was no view. I was also surprised to see the balcony was for walkin burger ordering customers rather than for fine dining. For a $15 burger they had a much better view than us paying $40/main. Also the side dishes were appalling value. $8 for the literally 2 carrots. And share entrees, well they were not share worthy at all, they are just entrees for one. Best fix that terminology as it sets up unrealistic expectations. On the upside my crab salad was fresh and tasty and quite large.

Hi, unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food. The menu has items listed as “To Share” - we had ordered the pork belly, prawns, halloumi and the sourdough. We were shocked at the small quantities of food, which was dissappointing for the amount that had been charged.
The menu is misleading where the “To Share” would mean enough for at least two people to share which was not the case at all, e.g. the one piece of pork belly.

Our group of 7 had a lovely large table by the window. The service was polite and fast despite the restaurant being nearly full. The place is nicely designed and the water views are great. We just felt let down by the menu and the noise. It felt a bit as if the restaurant doesn't know what it wants to me. Given the large beer garden downstairs and the bar, it might be better to maintain the same vibe upstairs as the guests'noise levels are certainly more at pub strength than cosy restaurant. The food was ok but a bit bland. Overall, I would come back to enjoy a beer downstairs but in terms of food, there are much better restaurants at similar (steep) prices close by.

There was a boat blocking the view for the first half of our meal. The tables were so close together I felt like I was dining with strangers. We were brought the wrong tables meals in the middle if our entree. Slow service. Very casual feel. Food was nothing to rave about. Overall very disappointing for the price. $100 per person I expect better.

Very beautiful lunch location. Food was more than what we expected. We had our 3 year old daughter there and she was occupied by the kids activities that was handed to her and the scenic view. Truly a gorgeous spot, especially if you get a seating looking out into the harbor.

So disappointed with the dinning service on Landings 1st floor!

Putting aside the extremely ordinary $60 Morton Bay Bug dish, we came away so unhappy with the amateur service. You'd think they would inform you with a booking that you have to vacate the table in 2 hours, but I found out with 20 mins to go and food and drink on the table. It seems that one of my guests was told on arrival (since she was the 1st to the table) but they neglected to inform little old me...the host. So embarrassing for a business function to be asked to leave your table. Cannot recommend the place as a restaurant - it's worse than a cheap pub.

We love James Squire but to be honest the food was just OK. We had chicken which was a small portion. It was also dry and cold when we received it. I had some sort of cake which wasn’t memorable it was dry. I must have received the smallest peice of cake on the planet. Overall disappointing.

The staff were friendly & the food was fair, but I felt packed in like a sardine so tightly with the other guests it was unpleasant. The noise level was frenetically high and unless you were seated at one of the few tables by the water, the view was overrated. Probably a lively venue for a rowdy bunch (like the six blokes doing shots behind us), but definitely not the place for a special romantic dinner.

We had a great time with a group of 6 people! The views and ambience at this venue are fantastic. Food is of high quality and is plated well. Portion sizes a little bit on the small side, especially the to share plates. Be prepared for $100+ per head for a good fill, but in a highly memorable location.

As a regular to eating and drinking in Circular Quays, it is always nice to get away to the other side from where all the main restaurants are and try this upbeat restaurant. The views when the crews ship is in is not great but it adds to the ambuiance off the place as people talk about the size of these giant ships and then by 6-7pm they finally start to reverse out of the Harbor, leaving the stunning view of the Opera House.
The food and drink is good and of reasonable price for Sydney and the service is very good.

SERVICE WAS POOR, Food and Location Amazing!

After reading a few mixed reviews I have to say everyone is telling the truth. While it’s expensive (what isn’t in Australia) the decor and location is amazing! My food was amazing but all of that was over shadowed by the lack of attentiveness and care of our server. Working in the industry for over a decade I know BS when I hear it and our server was too carefree. It took 25min and 3 request for drinks, I wasn’t able to substitute a side due to a busy kitchen (restaurant was 40% full at best), she should’ve told the truth that their head chef doesn’t like substitutions. She even asked if her rejecting my request was okay. We saw her a total of 4 times, however the server beside us seem to be doing an amazing job.

Overall visit was good but visiting again??
