About STK – Chicago
STK artfully blends two concepts into one—the modern steakhouse and a chic lounge. A large central lounge area is furnished with creamy leather banquettes and textured crocodile tiles, and is surrounded by an elevated dining room for more formal dining. Theatrical lights illuminate each table, while a DJ creates an energetic vibe throughout the entire space. STK Chicago is located in the heart of River North and, as anticipated, steak is the main attraction. STK offers small, medium and large cuts of meat, as well as naturally raised options, and even wagyu and Kobe for the decadent dinners. Aside from steak, signature items include Parmesan Truffle Fries; Lil’ BRGs; Sweet Corn Pudding; and Jumbo Lump Crab Salad.

STK – Chicago Ratings and Reviews
First I went with my girls for my b-day, it was way more than I bargained for. The d.j was a nice surprise, he played everything and to the entire venue. I enjoyed it so much I took my husband there for date night a couple weeks later. Different, but just as pleasant of an experience.
Went on a Wednesday night for a business dinner. The restaurant was pretty empty but the dj was playing amazing throwback music with a great mix. They closed at 11 pm otherwise we would have stayed there dancing all night.
Sexy ambience with a lot of white decor. They have large booths with lots of space so you don't feel crowded. Food was amazing!!! I had the halibut special and the rest of the group had steaks. We all left happy and full. Will come back.
Although the food was good, I've had better meals for less money. The pounding beat of the disco- style music throughout the evening made conversation virtually impossible. Server Samantha was attentive but it was difficult to breast what she had to say about the menu because of the noise level.
Been there many times; various times both early and late evenings -- weekdays and weekends; often with entire fam. Friday eve; I learned there is a dress code (I was casual cool) - Jeans, Jordans, Polo jacket. Far from just coming from gym or something crazy; wife and I for special. Pompous door guy looked me up and down and said sorry 'business casual'. Had I known, would have adhered, but I didn't. Instead of saying hey, come on in, but next time.....turned us away like trying to get in a club at 2am; had reservations and all. I get rules and I respectfully follow said rules of any establishment, but discretion and judgment are necessary. STK is now a club I guess - no judgment or discretion afforded. Felt disrespected and discriminated against. I'll never go back. Suggest "dress code" be made more visible when making a reservation on Open Table.
We had an amazing time and the staff was exceptional. My wife brought me here to celebrate my birthday and it's the 3rd STK I've been to never a disappointment with the food and always great music. We went on a Sunday evening and was great atmosphere. We will be back.
The food was ok. However, with how expensive it was, I couldn’t justify the price. It looks like a dj comes in on some nights. That might be something interesting. Bottom line, if you like spending big on food, this will be right up your alley. I couldn’t recommend to anyone. There are plenty of places you can spend a third less, and get the same quality.
STK was a really nice space. Very comfortable leather booths and great background music. The food was at best average. Nothing special and pricey, but to be fair, no different than all downtown steak houses. Everything was fine just nothing particularly stood out. Good service and really pretty place.
Service was outstanding! Very cool ambiance and great music for a fun night out but we were there for business and were trying to talk... we asked the server to turn the music down a little (very few people on our side of restaurant) and they gladly did! Salads were great, bread was amazing, Brussels sprouts & mushrooms were perfect. The 6oz filet was missing a little flavor, but the rest made up for it. Very happy with dinner and will go again.
Having been to STK in Las Vegas--loved it--I was pretty confident we would like STK in Chicago as well. We had a great time and loved the food, but the music was very loud - I'm guessing this is a special setup for the late dinner crowd of Friday/Saturday nights. All but the music was the same experience I remembered from Vegas - excellent food, great service, nice setting and decor. It would've been a 5-star experience if the music was turned down a bit. If you're looking for a memorable dinner, STK is the place!
I have never before been hungry after eating a $62 steak. So I guess kudos for accomplishing something that Capital Grille, Fitzgerald's, Maestro's, Fleming's, Joes Steak and Stone Crab, or any other high end steak house has been able to do. Aside from the size of the steak the fact that we were the only 2 people in the restaurant and my medium rare steak came out medium was borderline inexcusable. On a positive note the king salmon was a high quality exceptional piece of fish, unfortunately the sauce on it was overpowering and unnecessary. There are literally a 100 choices for a quality meal downtown, I would have been happier had we chose almost any of them for our pre-concert dinner.
