About STK – Chicago
Chicago, IL 60654
STK artfully blends two concepts into one—the modern steakhouse and a chic lounge. A large central lounge area is furnished with creamy leather banquettes and textured crocodile tiles, and is surrounded by an elevated dining room for more formal dining. Theatrical lights illuminate each table, while a DJ creates an energetic vibe throughout the entire space. STK Chicago is located in the heart of River North and, as anticipated, steak is the main attraction. STK offers small, medium and large cuts of meat, as well as naturally raised options, and even wagyu and Kobe for the decadent dinners. Aside from steak, signature items include Parmesan Truffle Fries; Lil’ BRGs; Sweet Corn Pudding; and Jumbo Lump Crab Salad.

STK – Chicago Ratings and Reviews
I took my Husband here for his birthday 2/21. From the time we walked in to the time we was leaving out, The service was great, Food was amazing, & the place is beautiful. My only concern was that the busboy was more interactive with us then our waiter. The only time our waiter talk to us was when he took our order and brought us the bill. He didn't even introduce himself, I ask him for his name. I think it was Mike, he was to low when he said it. But Fabian/Fabo the busboy was OUTSTANDING. I will definitely come back
Great night at STK. Our server, Hilary, was really nice and attentive. She gave us a few excellent recommendations. It restaurant is loud but that's what gives it some excitement. Steak was cooked the way I ordered it and the wife's sea bass was outstanding. Great night.
Hostess was horrible. Misled me about valet parking. My husband is handicapped with cane. Had no regard for him. When I talked to her on phone and in person was very dismissive. Could care less. Did not get name but it was on valentines night which was also my birthday and the wrong info she gave me caused my husband to have a fight. I was meeting home there and he was driving.
Went for dinner during restaurant week. The food was just okay for $65 a person with one drink, way to overrated! The waitress was super! We tried the microscopic scallop appetizer (literally two spoons and it was gone, they took one scallop and sliced it in half) and the steak was the cheap and fatty cut (I guess they thought its just a taste menu so give us the crappy steak!) Not worth the hype, price and food quality is just okay.
I dined on a Friday night and there was a DJ, which seemed normal until people started climbing onto the tables and furniture to dance. Literally. On top of that the waiters and manager encouraged crazy/drunken/obnoxious behavior including conga lines throughout the dining room. Ambiance aside, I ordered rock shrimp and received tiny, breaded shrimp (probably had been frozen) atop a bowl of dense mayonnaise like sauce that was heavy and inedible. Even the bread was flavorless and covered in liquid butter, sour cream, and salt. I paid $200 for a stomachache and a headache.
I had never been too STK and I was VERY disappointed. Their Restaurant Week menu was $44 and was NOT worth it. I've been to several steak houses for Restaurant Week and they were all significantly better. The night before I was at Capital Grill for $33 and their steak and sides were 100 times better. The steak was fatty and there were barely any sides. I left hungry and I am NOT a big eater at all. I do not recommend STK and will not be going back to try their regular menu.
We went during Restaurant Week and also ordered off the regular menu. Food was excellently prepared -- steak was evenly cooked, flavorful and juicy, and the appetizers we got were creative. The restaurant is very loud -- it wasn't too busy, and the host had the music turned down, but it still required us to speak loudly at each other across the table.
Came for Restaurant Week, wasn't shown anything by way of food quality or service that would make me choose this over so many other great options in the city. The place doesn't know what it is, steakhouse prices but not the typical great and knowledgeable steakhouse service, and music that no one seemed to enjoy hearing. Almost everyone looked unhappy, including all the servers and even the wine expert was a jerk to us. We received the wrong drinks, wrong desserts, never got an apology, just questioned on it. The place also wasn't that busy, so I hope for their sake it was just a totally off night, but I'm not about to give them any more of my money to find out.
Drinks were pricey but very good. Appetizer and dessert were excellent and main course was fair. Server wasn't particularly attentive, which I feel was because we ordered from the Restaurant Week menu, as I noted that he was quite attentive to his other tables. We would have ordered more drinks, but he never came around for us to do so. Fun place for a night out.
First, i was unhappy that my table of 6 was seated at a huge rectangular table clearly meant for 8. We couldn't hear each other speak we were so spread out. This is despite the restaurant being 90% empty.
As a group, we thought the restaurant week menu was mediocre at best. No one at our table thought the entrees were particularly good, particularly the chicken. I also thought the restaurant's choice of music from the 70s and 80s didn't match the vibe of the restaurant and was distracting. Will not be returning, and I would advise against spending money hear.
We had gone for the restaurant week menu. The bread was a little dry. Duck cake was awesome and well presented. The Delmonico steak however, was on the salty side, but was balanced by the kale purée, Brussels sprouts And horseradish which was under seasoned. The churro bowl left you wanting for something more, but balance of flavors was spot on. Overall the food was all very filling.
Overall service was good.
We had the most impeccable service we have ever experienced. Ryan and Fabio are the main reason for this review. The food was great, and the drinks, all wonderful and honestly recommended from Ryan. Down to the delightful sparkler-shot-surprise everything was wonderful. Fabio was our bus boy and his attentiveness blew us away, from pulling my chair out when I walked in to helping with my coat when we left. Our water was never empty, our empty plates never sat, all without being imposing or noticeable. Too often people only write bad reviews, our service was so wonderful we stopped to speak with the manager, Heather, on the way out to tell her how wonderful Ryan and Fabio were this evening. Can't wait to go back!!
Great service and ambience. Food was just ok tonight. A little disappointed with the meal.
We did the restaurant week menu, but added the crab risotto. It was very fishy and we had to send it back. The Steak was over salted.
Our server was great. The restaurant is lively.
STK offers a sleek, contemporary, interior design with more comfortable privacy provided in booths (which seemed to sit low, but then I am short). Black and white contrasts throughout, and I would recommend all waitstaff either wear all black, or a white pressed shirt--the price point really demands it. The steak was excellent, and done to our ordered taste, and they cut the steak into strips for us for easier sharing. We added a lobster and a couple of sauces (sauces were extra for $2.00 each). That evening we opted out of some of the other side options--which sounded wonderful, but we are older and cannot eat that much in the evening. The spicy martini by my dinner partner was so memorable from a previous engagement, that she ordered it again. You can't go wrong if you order steak here, after all it's called, STK. Convenient River North location is directly across from Kinzie Hotel.
We went to celebrate my husband's birthday. The place was a bit hard to find. The place looked closed from the outside. The service was a bit slow for my taste but the food was good. My husband and our friends loved it and said they would definitely return.
