   Bar staff seemed dismissive and not engaged in the service. The food was like being flavor bombed , and not in a good way. It’s like they put every spice & flavor possible in every dish to make it seem eccentric. The pad Thai noodles were like complete mush. Overall just a Wierd vibe & the food was trying to hard to be different.

   Excellent service. Creative menu with generous selection with vegetarian and meat based entrees. Warm, inviting modern decor with family-style seating encourages connection between and within dining patron groups The food was served hot and well-seasoned. We will be back for an encore soon!

   I made resys for a romantic rooftop experience but was told the day of, that the rooftop was closed for a private event. Our other options were a hot patio at the entrance, communal indoor dining or sitting at a high top kitchen bar. We sat at the latter to watch the kitchen in action which was cool but someone should have warned us that it would mean incessant smoke in our faces. We felt the need to rush the entire experience bc our eyes were stinging and it was very hot. Be prepared you’ll need a full shower and put your clothes to the side for washing or dry clean after leaving. My hair stinks today, and almost $300 later I wish the staff had forewarned us about the smoky locale when they offered up our options. There’s also a 4% employee welfare charge that was included. If the menu prices weren’t so steep I wouldn’t have minded it but the restaurant can clearly afford to pay their staff more. The food was mostly very good but be prepared for smaller protein portions.

   The cocktails were amazing! The potstickers that look like sushi … also incredible! The outdoor space is beautiful and downtown view from the top fun to see. Definitely worth going when you want something nice, delish, and unique!

   Not sure what the gimmick behind the shared giant tables is, but it's a waste of space and really make it difficult to enjoy a conversation. On top of that, they really don't need any music and they do need some sound deadening because it's unpleasantly loud. The food and service are great. Improve the ambience and it could be an outstanding dining experience.

    It was freezing cold because of the many fans on high that couldn’t be adjusted even though the weather was in the high 60s. Ambience would have been lovely if I wasn’t so uncomfortable.

    On rooftop 1/ the flies were very bothersome. Wished we had asked to go downstairs but didn't want the noise below. 2/ Could NOT enjoy the view as the heavy plastic was partially in place. Plastic protection seemed haphazardly placed and drooping in some places.

    Our table was not ready when we arrived , while the wait could have been quite irritating, Sway Management provided drinks for our large group and provided updates as we waited. While the party started later than expected and the dinner was yummy and a lot of fun. Try the oysters!

    We are not big fans of the communal tables. Also the benches instead of chairs with backing makes it more uncomfortable. But the food, drinks, and service were great.

    Food comes out as it is ready vs all at once which they informed us about ahead of time; however, two people ordered exactly the same thing and one of the two came out 20 minutes later and everyone was pretty much done eating. They were semi apologetic but not really interested in trying to make it right in any way.

    Went for our anniversary and it was fabulous! We sat on the outdoor upstairs area, with a gorgeous view of the city. Fabulous wait staff and food was divine! Will definitely be back!

    Calamari appetizer: the calamari were very small in size. Portion size was too small for $18! Brussel sprout appetizer was very good. The “son in law” entree and pad thai ki entree were lacking flavour.

    We go to Sway Thai on a regular basis and always enjoy the overall experience ( service, food, drinks, ambiance , value of happy hour). This time we ordered siumai , a steamed specialty . But we were surprised to see it come deep fried and we didn’t enjoy them . We told the waiter that it was not what we expected . I think the waiter should mention that this a fried food when clients order.

    Delicious food and great service! We had the dumplings, satay, crab fried rice, pad Thai gai, Brussel sprouts and green curry. Highly recommend sharing because you get to taste lots of amazing dishes that way. The decor is beautiful and the service was wonderful. We'll definitely not wait as long to return.

    If you’re going for authentic Thai food this isn’t it. I’m not one to complain but the food was average and some dishes arguably below average. Service was awful too. Two dishes came out a literal 20 minutes before the other two. One of the extra sides we ordered came after we were all finished. Not great.. restaurant is looks nice though

    My wife and I visited during Thai New year, and the restaurant was packed and lively. Excellent cocktail specials with depth and complexity. We started with the Calamari, which was perfectly fried (GF to boot) and the sauce with fermented black bean was unique and packed with flavor. The tom kha gai was very well balanced, with strong, fresh lemongrass and coconut flavor. I could have used a little more heat, but it was an very very good bowl of soup. For mains, my wife had the blue crab fried rice which was light, fresh, and absolutely full of crab. The seasoning was balanced very well to not overpower the excellent crab within. I had the Songkran special Penang Curry with beef short rib. The sauce was bold without being overwhelming, and the beef was braised to perfection, pull apart tender and went very well with the potato pecan fritters. We also had a side of brussels sprouts which were so good we could hardly stop eating them when our mains arrived! Thank you to our server, Tye, for the great suggestions, and a wonderful experience. There was nothing on the menu that didn’t look tasty, and we will most definitely be returning!

    Their door is so heavy that every time it shuts the ground shakes. It sounds like a construction sight and is so frequent. They should really consider a door stop or propping it open on nice nights. Food was fantastic, service was quite slow and our meals came out one at a time which was a little off although they do say it is family style but we would have liked to try everything at the same time not one meal at a time.

    FOOD: Good, yet not overall amaze-balls as prior visits pre-pandemic. DRINKS: - Lime Coconut Soda: O.M.G! What manner of crack do they put in this? Just scrumptious! And the fresh grated nutmeg over the top gave it a wonderful aromatic note! - The Emperor cocktail: bartender said it was her favorite drink. It seemed good, not great. Expected a bit stronger flavors and aromas. Will try their other bourbon drink next time. SERVICE & AMBIANCE: Excellent. Very attentive without being disruptive. Then again, we were very fortunate to get to sit at their rooftop bar counter, so got to watch the tender make drinks right in front of us as we experienced night settling over Austin's downtown in the distance. Lovely experience, however, did get a bit chilly once the sun went down. Take a jacket or sweater. The bartender told us they're looking to add glass windows that can be fully retracted to the rooftop. The decor itself is very inviting with exposed wood all over the downstairs dining room. If you do get to dine at their rooftop, note that the bar counter is much more comfortable to sit at while eating than the couches and chairs with only coffee tables. Those areas got dark sooner as well. OVERALL: Mostly good on the food. Everything else was top notch!

    I’ve been to sway a couple of time before. It’s a great place to celebrate a special occasion or to go out to on the weekends. I ordered the meal that feeds 2-3 people. The description sounded really good but I was not expecting it to be finger food. Wasn’t an enjoyable experience when I had to eat a lettuce wrap by hand and get the sauce all over my fingers. Wouldn’t order this again.
