Following on from the huge success of TAKA in Japan, brother and sister duo Andrey and Anastasia Datsenko are delighted to bring their high-end Japanese restaurant to London.
came for the Bento Box during lunch, and it was a lovely combination of different food. Would be better if can offer the package with drinks or dessert. Chocolate Fondant was also nice.
We booked table but it wasn’t reserved. When we told number of us, staff made table together for us.. Some of dish was lovely but cost performance was not so good.
I guess Very expensive area to keep going Frish Sashimi and sushi, they have to price up.. staff was friendly enough ambulance was ok, I wish a bit more space between other tables..
Booked this for a lunch celebration for my partner's birthday and was not disappointed! The food was lovely and well presented, very happy with the lunch bento options. By the time we ordered dessert the restaurant was empty, so it was a perfect moment when staff brought out the dessert with 'Happy Birthday' written on the plate. They had even changed the music to a birthday song! Will definately return! Thank you :)
Good service but very small amount of food
This was our second visit to Taka and it just as delicious as I remembered. The portions are quite big for 2 and so either don’t order too much or go with friends so you can share more plates
Took my dad and friends to celebrate my graduation, and am absolutelly amazed by how good this place was. Everything fresh and delicious- i am a very picky person when it comes to raw fish, but had no doubts that Taka was gonna be amazing. (Nobu is overrated)
Amazing service as well- great time, absolutelly recommended!
We selected the five course set menu and were not disappointed. The miso soup was flavorful and the marinated salmon was exceptional. You are given a choice of grilled salmon or beef steak and we both selected the salmon. The fish was perfectly grilled and the sauce provided a pleasant complement.
Generally a really nice place. Definitely coming back. The food was excellent and the portions in the 5 course set menu was perfect for a dinner. The staff were super attentive.
Dear Francois, Thank you for taking the time and review your last visit with us. We are looking forward to welcoming you back soon. Yours sincerely, Taka Mayfair Management Team
It’s a tiny restaurant so you do feel a little squeezed in but the food was really delicious. We ordered lots of the small plates and everything was really fresh and tasty. The only complaint was that they brought everything out at once and the plates barely fit on the tiny table and then some things got cold as we couldn’t eat them quickly enough. Next time we will just ask them to stagger bringing things out.
Wonderful responsive service, great freshwater eel and moos-chi dessert. Nice setting. Definitely recommend.
Excellent food and service. Best gyozas in town! Fair prices for an outstanding dining experience.
It may not have the hype and reputation of Nobu and Zuma, the food and service is equally good. Great service tonight. Keep up the good work.
I took my client for her birthday lunch and we had a great experience. The sashimi was delicious and the black cod outstanding! I will definitely come back very soon.
Really modern vibe with yummy/trendy sushi. Great place to catch up with someone or go on a date!
Food could be better!! Not what I expected. Maybe I have been to Zuma too often !
Great meal. Quality to rival the big names such a Nobu or Roka but far more reasonably priced.
Great restaurant. Amazing staff and such a lovely atmosphere.
Amazing food and amazing service! Well worth a visit
While the portions were small, everything was fresh and well prepared. Service was attentive and friendly and we loved the intimate but not too quiet atmosphere.
Lovely venue if a little small. Food is high quality with an excellent range of dishes.
Amazing food, tucked away in Shepherds Market. We had the soft shell crab for the first time and it was divine. Another highlight was the california rolls and the miso cod. Can't wait to go back again.
Amazing place should visit great food
They have pure Japanese foods which taste pretty great!
We went as a couple. The place is small and intimate. On the whole, the food had a mixture of good and bad points. We ordered a lot of sashimi and sushi, black cod, beef sirloin and fried aubergine. The squid sashimi was very chewy and the octopus quite chewy but the rest (hamachi, Amaebi) was nice. The ikura gunkan, California roll and negi toro were tasty. The black cod was good and didn't need the very sweet miso sauce that came in a side bowl. We asked for the beef to be medium rare and it was perfectly cooked. That was my favourite dish but again came with a very overpoweringly sweet sauce in a bowl which was not needed. The fried aubergine was the biggest disappointment. It came smothered with the super sweet miso sauce and was inedible. The sauce should be less sweet and put in a bowl on the side. For dessert, we had the yuzu creme brulee with lychee sorbet which was very nice. We finished with a pot of ginger and lemon tea. There was not enough ginger in the pot and the tea was hence too weak a taste. We had one small hot sake between us. The bill was £78 per person which was expensive for what it was but it is inline with Mayfair prices. Service was friendly and efficient.
excellent on all counts 👍🏼❤️💐
Very good quality of food, and the set menu is great value for money.
Amazing place. Lovey atmosphere. Super sushi
Delicious sushi, super fresh and some of the best food I have had in a while!
Sushi were perfect. Lovely staff offered their special tuna tartar. It was just amazing. Highly recommend this place. Will be back soon.
Great restaurant, great food, great atmosphere, just great!
Nice place for business meeting
Great Great Great. We came a bit early for our dinner. We had great drinks at the bar. After we were welcomed to our table. Nice recommendations for food and drinks. We really enjoyed our meal. Try their hamachi carpaccio.
Waiter/Waitress were attentive the service charge was well worth the cost and justified, personally I prefer the sushi rolls over the nigiri the fish slice on the nigiri were on the small side
Taka Roll - must try.
Perfect little gem in London. Outstanding service, delicious food and cozy setting.
Taka made our date special. All our food were nicely presented. Great selection of sake. In the end of our meal we had amazing dessert with candles and they did us special birthday song.
Very good sushi! Incredible experience and service!
Food was divine, highly recommend the Black Cod.
Yuzu cocktail was gorgeous, mochi balls delicious
Lovely intimate date night
Slightly expensive but really good food, overwhelming smell of truffle.
