   Quite bad. Table booked for 2pm, mains arrived 3.15pm after we had made enquiries. Food wasn’t very good, some choices quite bland and boring. Staff seemed quite half hearted and uninterested. We were planning on bringing some strict vegetarians next month but we won’t be going back

   We picked this up on the I love Manchester website and are pleased we did as the food and atmosphere is on a par with `Greens which is high praise. My wife is gluten intolerant but there was plenty for to choose from and the server said that they could cater for this. She particularly liked the Sunday roast and for once could have a dessert rather than fruit.

   website great, photography superb, restaurant itself was an inviting environment, menu promising but tom yum was nothing more than tomato water with what appeared to be overcooked tagliatelle, other dishes were superb - mixed feelings based on disappointing tom yum, not particularly good value for money and staff nonchalant and not deserving of the 10% service charge.

   One of our party of four is coeliac and staff understood their needs. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and efficient. I would definitely visit again and I would recommend The Allotment Vegan Eatery for a place to eat.

    Very minimal service as in someone took our order and payment (it wasn't busy) and also the food just isn't worth the price. It's *food I can make at home* nice, not £16 for a bowl of overcooked noodles without chopsticks. A shame as we'd seen it was one of the best vegan places in town and it was just... Average at best. Also, literally most things had tofu, no seitan or other alternatives which limited the menu.

    First time in this lovely place. This place didn't fail. Lovely little restaurant, great service considering the young lady was on her own. Great food, I has the vegan fish and chips and he had the Asian style sandwich. Very tasty and filling. For desert I had the sticky toffee pudding which was to die for. He had the chocolate and raspberry tart, again very tasty. Would highly recommend and would definitely return if in the area.

    The restaurant was understaffed, so there was a tense and stressed atmosphere which made the whole experience incredibly uncomfortable. The food was bland and really overpriced. Very disappointing as The Allotment came highly recommended.

    Food always delicious here; both the tofu skewers and the roast had amazing marinades. Didn’t know there was a set menu on Sundays - still good, just a bit limited compared to the usual. Out of sticky toffee pudding but didn’t tell us when giving us the menus despite there only being 4 pudding options.

    Unfortunately this was a very disappointing experience. The staff were lovely so it’s no reflection on them but the food was poor and not what’d I’d expect from a restaurant dedicated to vegan food. A fennel risotto had no flavour at all and the texture was sticky and gloopy not creamy as you’d expect. I couldn’t eat it, and at £16 for a plate of nondescript gloop it was an expensive mistake. The prices are not cheap and for the prices you should be getting something special. It’s a real shame, maybe we were unlucky but I hope standards improve or I fear this restaurant will not survive.

    Great place to go. Food invariably great with a good choice. Well-presented and tasty. The 'cheesecake' really isn't remotely like a cheesecake, though, and for the price, it shouldn't be packet oats and yoghurt with a spoon of fruit purée on top, put together in 30 seconds. Apart from that, we'll definitely go back again.

    Grateful for the fact that all dishes could be gluten free. 'Meat' balls were good as was the bread. Oyster mushrooms dish was disappointing. Asparagus was undercooked - stems to tough to chew. Rest of the salad seemed to lack dressing. Batter on the cauli wasn't crispy enough. Location was spot on and ambience was lovely. So a mixed bag.

    The food and hospitality is always outstanding - such a gem of a vegan restaurant in a perfect location. Really nice and cosy interior design and the staff are always so kind and helpful. Every dish I've tried has been high quality and delicious, and there are many options on the drinks menu too. My mum isn't vegan and she loves it here too!

    A hidden gem - literally (took me, a non-Mancunian, a while to find it). But it was worth it. Everything on the menu was delicious, healthy, flavoured very well. The atmosphere inside felt intimate and special but not foreboding. The tofu was incredibly...bouncy, if that makes sense, and myself and a non-vegan had a delicous, filling meal. The staff were so lovely they even went against their own rules and prepped some of their decadent sticky toffee pudding to go. Thank you so much - can't wait to come back!

    The Price does not reflect the quality of the Food or of the Service. Me and a Friend visited on a Saturday and found the Staff were quite Lazy and had a little bit of an Attitude, We had to order at the bar and there was a service charge which I believe to be very cheeky considering we had not yet been able to judge whether the service was good or not. We ordered a Pot of Chai Tea for which we were not provided any Milk/Sugar without again having to walk to the bar, unfortunately the Food was also poor quality, The Tom Yum tasted like Tomato Soup with Noodles, The Greek Style Tofu Kebab sauce almost tasted sour and for the price the portions were quite small so you are paying a lot for a small amount of food at a low quality.

    We had been to your old restaurant a few times and really enjoyed it. It felt really special and the food was great so we were expecting the same but it appears that this is a different sort of establishment now. To start with, nobody told us that we needed to go in and order and pay up front and there was nothing on the menu so we were sat waiting for ages for someone to come and take our order. The food was ok. The fish and chips was tasty but the summer bowl was disappointing. Most of the elements were lacking in flavour as they had simply been cooked au naturel without any seasoning or spices.

    It was a tasting menu but I had no idea what I was tasting. There was no menu given, and when I asked someone what one of the dishes was, they didn't know. Great idea, nice food but could have been executed a little better. Still, it's great to have a fully vegan tasting menu!

    Husband and I ate yesterday from the new summer menu - we shared the plant balls and truffle chips to start, then Husband had the tofu laksa and I had the tofu sandwich - all really tasty and service was excellent. Only downside is restsurant is not based in Liverpool, which being from the wirral is our nearest town! 😁
