The Auld Shebeen Gastro Pub situated on the banks of the Grand Canal, Athy, on arrival you will be greeted with one hundred thousand welcomes to our Traditional Irish Bar. Having just opened our doors 9th July you are in for a huge treat with our stylish decor and relaxed atmosphere you can choose from one of our three dining areas depending on what dining experience you require. We serve a selection of great quality dishes including a choice of gourmet burgers, fresh fish , tasty wings, with us gaining a quality reputation for our freshly baked pizza from Meat Lovers to Wild Mushroom to Procuitto and much more. We are delighted to say we serve gluten free pizzas and have a great gluten free beer or wine to compliment the pizza.

Food was gorgeous . Steak sandwich was perfect. Pizza beautiful, heaped with chosen toppings. Definitely go back. Only negative was restaurant part was closed so we had to sit in bar while some were in to watch football match.

Brilliant experience as always. Food outstanding good value and friendly staff. Had drinks and cocktails after with great live music. Brill atmosphere best pub/restaurant in town 10/10 always love it!

Love this pub/ restaurant. Staff are so friendly and efficient. Food is always fab. Service is quick. Lovely atmosphere. Our table was upstairs this time. Pleasant but would have preferred to be downstairs as the ambiance is nicer. But was busy (as always). Would highly recommend..!!!!!!!!!

Couldn't fault a thing. The extra little touch with the surprise birthday candle made it so special. Unfortunately don't know the waitresses name but I hope management know who she is and complement her. Definitely back with more guests

Went in for the first time on Friday night. The food was fabulous would definitely recommend the wings , pesto burger and steak sandwich. Portion size is huge and the cocktails are to does for, the mojito with a twist is simply delicious. Fabulous was A* and the waiting staff are a credit to the establishment, nothing was too much. They were all super friendly and very polite. Will definitely be returning.

The best place in Athy for food! And hands down the best pint of Guinness in the town! I always bring friends there when they come to visit! The staff are amazing, the food is incredible and the vibes are excellent

Arrived at 2.30 p.m. Was offered the menu. I had only been here once before. I didn't realise that I could have been offered the 2nd menu! So was really disappointed when other people came in and were offered the more extensive menu. I had already ordered. I enquired and it was explained about the times of each menu available. I mentioned that I had an appointment for 2.30 p.m. I didn't complain, as I will go back, but next time I will be wiser. The Chicken Wings starter were fab. I found the seating bar area was cold. Not too many there, but we all had our jackets on.

Today was my first visit to the "Auld Shebeen" in Athy. We had booked for 2.15 p.m. It was my first time since before Covid-19 to eat out and to get together with Family. From a Covid-19 safety perspective, everything was excellent, from Passport checks to seating arrangement to hand sanitiser on our table. The Food was only Georgeous. Each of us chose something different from the menu and not one complaint or dissatisfaction among us. The Service was Excellent. Could not fault it. Friendliness, knowledge, understanding, wearing of masks, how the food was served, Brilliant. I live in Athy and I now have somewhere that I will look forward to visiting again and again and again.
