The Blind Pig Ratings and Reviews
I must say I did not enjoy my visit to the blind pig and will not be returning or recommending this place to friends or family. Firstly our booking was at 8.30 and we finally got seated at 8.55. Then when we said we were not having food we were asked to leave the table and return to be seated at the bar. We were given a drink on the house for this but we would have rathered stay at the table but felt we didn't have much choice. We both found the waiter extremely rude. He let us order at 22.55 and then said he couldn't serve us as our time was up and he needed the seats. He then walked away without any further explanation. I will not be returning and won't be recommending this place at all
Fun place (a basement cave "speakeasy") for dinner and drinks. Dinner and drinks were all very good. Food (mostly Italian) comes from the restaurant upstairs. Drinks are created by a mixologist/bartender, really an unusual cocktail menu.
Think the place seats about 40, we made our reservation three weeks in advance and only 630pm was available.
Worth planning a month or so in advance and enjoying a night at the Blind Pig.
Ambience is great, good cocktails . Service was very slow - took a long time to order drinks and food . Then after 2 hours the waitress asked us to leave as the table was required for another reservation- this was fine as it's on the reservation notice but she hadn't even brought the bill! At 9pm a blues guitarist started playing but he was extremely loud , we couldn't hear each other at this point. Food was reasonable value for money.
AMAZING! I love this place - the food is delicious. The menu changes every now and again. But more importantly - the cocktails are the best that I've ever had. And I've had a few cocktails in my day - seriously the best. If I could import Paul to where I live, I would. His drinks are seriously amazing. It's a fun place with great food and superb cocktails. What's not to like?
The place was a huge disappointment. The food comes from the Pacino's restaurant upstairs where I'm pretty sure you can get the same food for a better price. The cocktail menu is seriously lacking and the staff give you an attitude for ordering something that's listed ON THE MENU!!! The prices are outrageous for the quality. If the only attraction is how the location is kept secret until you book, save your money. You just go down the stairs at Pacino's and press a little sign hanging on the wall on the left and the door disguised as a cabinet opens. After that, everything else about the place is absolutely disappointing.
We booked this as we were visiting Dublin for the weekend and this place has been recommended by friends. We took our Mum's for a Mothers day surprise.
Lovely venue, great service and yummy food! Not forgetting the extra special entrance : )
Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a venue that is a bit different and has a good menu.
Food was absolutely amazing. We spend 2 hours on our meal . We didn't want to leave . Done three course meal . Even treated ourselves to desert. Homemade tiramisu. Out off this world.
One thing to say . We ALMOST didn't get the table because there seems to be synchronizing problems with there system and open table booking. There did find us one after a short wait . Waiter was amazing to accomadate with quick thinking
This is a speakeasy that is a secret. The clue comes as to the location when you make a reservation. Unfortunately it does not work for Open Table. We ended up finding the place after a lot of trial and error. Walked in the back door to be informed the kitchen was closed.
Open Table you should take this off the list. Looks fun but needs to be organized.
We visited a while ago. They don't accept credit/debit cards which was very embarrassing. The waiter was rude and dismissive and the food was the most terrible thing I've eaten in my life. The only good thing was the fact that it was hidden away and that the waiter would walk us from grafton street to the venue.
I'm not sure whether the fault in this situation lies with the Blind Pig or Open Table. We booked a table for 6.45pm that evening midway through a Friday afternoon. Received a reservation confirmation email immediately but then received a telephone message at 6.25pm from the Blind Pig stated that this was not in fact a reservation but rather a request for a reservation and they couldn't accommodate us until much later in the evening (around 11pm). Very little use to two people wanting dinner in the next half hour and now walking restaurant to restaurant looking for somewhere to take us on a busy Dublin Friday evening. Extremely disappointing outcome and 20 minutes notice of the issue simply not good enough. Why bother using this site if you can't rely on the reservation?
