Sssshhh! Best kept secret! A really lovely restaurant with gorgeous food & great waiter service. As for the cocktails....so delicious!
Bar men were really nice and recommended drinks based on our likes.
Best dinner, ambiance and service! Paul was amazing host!! Will be back!
Having made my booking on January 16th for Saturday February 3rd at 6.30pm. I received a call from the restaurant 5 hours prior to our reservation to state the table wasn't available but they had an one for 5pm. Reluctantly, I agreed to the changed time.
Upon arrival I enjoyed the quirky entrance, a very nice staff member took our order for drinks and main course. Both of which were satisfactory. We ordered desert and as my friend was still finishing when a make staff member asked "were you not told we needed the table back at 6.30pm". My friend asked for extra cream to finish her desert and it was delivered to the table. We now knew we had overstayed our welcome. I was unable to reply as I thought this was a absurd, 1 and a half hours for what had been relaxing and enjoyable became quite the opposite. We finished paid and left. Would not recommend, my impression is the business model is turn over tables quickly for highest return. Very disappointed.
Absolutley amazing suggestion from a family friend to visit this place whilst in Dublin! You experience the quirkiness and uniqueness of this small restaurant from the get go by having to venture into a different Italian restaurant located on one of the inner city streets. Make your way down the stairs under the sign that says ‘shhhhh’ as if your going to the toilets for the Italian restaurant and infront of you is what appears to be just an average bookcase.... HOWEVER... click the picture of Coleman’s Mustard on the left hand side wall and all will be revealed!! The doors slide open to reveal the great atmosphere of the best hideaway in Dublin! We were seated by an extremely polite gentleman who took care of us for the entire night and made our experience at The Blind Pig very personable! He explained the lighthearted and amusing house rules, the current cocktail menu and ‘The Bible’. Should you not like any cocktail on the current menu, ask for The Bible, it’s an extremely thorough cocktail menu of every cocktail they have ever made/ designed, and you could also do a bit of light reading should you wish to (You will see what I mean once you visit). Once we received our 1st cocktails, myself and my partner ordered our food which didn’t take too long to come due to the entire restaurant only being able to hold 7 or 8 tables due to its small size (MAKE SURE TO BOOK IN ADVANCE) and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The food was outstanding!! My partner had Duck Leg Confit and I had a Chicken Sweker. For two starters, two mains and two cocktails each, our bill came to around €90, which I believe to be fantastic as it’s not just the food you pay for, it’s the atmosphere, uniqueness and entire dining experience as a whole! Would 1000% recommend this a a go to spot for tourists visiting Dublin. We visited 02-02-2018.
Really lovely atmosphere, great menu and extremely friendly staff! Had a lovely meal and will definitely be returning sooner rather than later!
A very cool place that has a lot of appeal through it's unique atmosphere and speakeasy side - so fun to need a password and special instructions to get inside!
All perfect, we loved the ambience and the food, also the drinks, congratulations
So the service was strange- they were quite attentive to the tables around us but kept passing us by! When they did come to us they were quite nice however. The meat and cheese plate starter was lovely, my friend and I both enjoyed it. Her di
This secret venue is a great find for a casual night out with a loved one or friends. Very authentic menu and ambiance. Great staff, cocktails and food. Highly reccommended.
The atmosphere was good on the nights we were here. Cocktails are very good - especially the Bon Bon and the food very good too. But beware, like a lot of places the servers seem to lose interest once the mains are delivered so if you are leisurely enjoying your drink and contemplating a nightcap cocktail or a sweet treat to round off the night you might not get a chance to have one because you will only be given around 2 - 2.5 hours at your table and no more - seemingly, whether there is another reservation or not. On two occasions we were told fairly unceremoniously that we had to vacate our table with no real notice cutting off the possibility of dessert on both evenings.
I have no problem paying what are fairly high prices for a great meal in a great place - but unfortunately I can't rave about this place because the two evenings ended in a way that left rather a bitter taste in the mouth. Not sure I will be back.
Cosy little bar with live music. We found the sound to be so high that we had trouble hearing each other speak, and in an intimate setting that was a bit of a letdown. We had to wait for a bit too long to order, and quite frankly I wasn't too happy with my drink for such a bar. Cool concept lacks a bit of the rest.
Thanks for a great evening. Everything from finding the place etc was brilliant. The food was lovely and so were the staff. Would recommend to everyone to visit. The extra wine and cocktails lists were fun to.
Food was excellent and drinks delicious. Highly recommend.
Great place with a great atmosphere. Amazing staff. The bar man even made us our very own cocktails from scratch. We just told him what we fancied and he made me and my friend really tasty drinks all night. Definitely be back again soon!
Best night we had in Dublin!!! Staff were excellent. So helpful and genuinely lovely people. Took great care to assist and advise my husband who has a wheat allergy. They also have great taste in cocktails. The food was delicious. We would definitely recommend and will return next time we are in Dublin. Cocktails this good should be a lot more expensive than they are. Can’t fault it!
Just a normal restaurant in a basement...I was expecting some secrecy and challenge to locate the place...nope, none of that. The "secret" door is open more than it is closed. Was hoping for a bit of intrigue and excitement, I thought that was the whole idea?!...was really disappointed, wouldn't return or recommend.
Very average - basically Pacino's basement. Sharing salt&pepper and 1 bowl of Parmesan between tables.
Good cocktails, service kind of slow but was busy.
Very intimate setting, perfect for a date - when I went it wasn't too noisy but it's quite a small space so I can imagine things could get loud at times. Drinks were nice and so was the food but nothing that blew my mind.
Award winning bar with amazing staff! Just tell them what kind of cocktails you enjoy and they’ll come back with a custom one for you. Love the speakeasy concept and enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. A must see in Dublin!
What a fun experience! You don't know the surprise until after you book, so take a chance!!! Spoiler alert! Hidden entrance!!!
Loved the secrecy of the actual location. Great atmosphere and lovely food. The cocktails are amazing! Definitely going back for a nice drink at the bar.
Intimate underground setting in a cellar below another Italian restaurant. Very tight space, only about 8-10 tables. Food was very good but there was only one server for the entire restaurant. It took over 30 minutes for us to get our drinks. While the space is unique and romantic, I'm not sure it's worth the exceptionally slow service.
LOVELY RELAXED ATMOSPHERE, GREAT ATTENTIVE STAFF, OVERALL REALLY NICE EXPERIENCE AND FEEL TO THE PLACE, WOULD 100% RECOMMEND.
FOOD AND DRINKS WERE TOP NOTCH :)
The food was really great, focused on fresh and quality followed by elegant execution. Dishes were truly Italian. The service was young and not overtly friendly but forthcoming nonetheless. They like to stick to their cocktail menue. We had tasty Cocktails and a nice still affordable bottle of wine. The Pumpkin Tortelli and the Dexter Burger were to die for.
Although I did enjoy my meal I did feel the service let down the whole experience. The waiter wasn't very attentive and when we ordered 2 drinks mid meal and only one came and they didn't realise until it was time to ask for the bill. They were very under staffed. However I did love the atmosphere and the food was delicious.
A must do in Dublin
Food was ok nothing special
All about the fun
Nice spot. I liked the speakeasy vibe. Cocktails were excellent and the waitress was friendly and well informed.
I must say I did not enjoy my visit to the blind pig and will not be returning or recommending this place to friends or family. Firstly our booking was at 8.30 and we finally got seated at 8.55. Then when we said we were not having food we were asked to leave the table and return to be seated at the bar. We were given a drink on the house for this but we would have rathered stay at the table but felt we didn't have much choice. We both found the waiter extremely rude. He let us order at 22.55 and then said he couldn't serve us as our time was up and he needed the seats. He then walked away without any further explanation. I will not be returning and won't be recommending this place at all
