Welcome to Westport’s newest dining experience. The Curious Fish is a celebration of the finest, freshest and most natural ingredients from land and sea, found on our very doorstep.

Fearghal O’Neill, our classically trained Head Chef, draws inspiration from the dramatic seascape and bountiful terrain of the Wild Atlantic Way to create flavoursome, classic dishes with a contemporary Irish twist. We had a lovely dinner there the previous day, however when it came to breakfast this was not the case. Once our food was served we were not looked at again, we required additional things to be brought to the table and could get no one’s attention.

Fantastic 4 course meal, really great and friendly service, would highly recommend the experience. We had the duck salad for starters, very tasty and lovely presentation. Main was rib eye, perfectly cooked and again fab presentation and so succulent. Finished off with chocolate fondant, oh so yummy and gooey! Finished off with a couple of espressos. Everything was top notch. We look forward to going back soon.

Excellent service and food. Very happy to accommodate requests. Had issue with online menu showing different options to what was actually available (reduced Sunday menu) but waiter checked with chef who had no problem offering what was advertised. Will be back. Only small thing would be that it would be nice if a few vegetables or tomatoes/cucumber were served with kids meals.

Gorgeous restaurant!! We’d never been to the Curious Fish before as it’s a bit off the beaten path but it was a Monday night and many places were closed so we decided to try it. What a treat! 6 of us. Everyone had something different and we all enjoyed our meals. The food is top tier to be sure and the service was friendly and prompt. We will be back!

We had a lovely experience yet again at the curious fish. Music, service, and atmosphere was fantastic. The only suggestion i think id make would be perhaps to consider adding veg and potatoe with the mains. My husband and brother in law both ordered the chicken supreme which was delicious. The only thing is they felt it wasnt enough on its own. They would have gave it top marks if it came with veg and potatoe.

We liked it so much we ate there twice. The food here was good. Over two nights (we were at a different hotel) we sampled the mussels and clams, a burger, fish and chips, salads and a steak. They were all spot on. The atmosphere was low key and the place spotless. The service was kind and prompt.

We dined in Curious Fish several times during our stay at The Mariner. Each time the experience was first class, and both the menu and quality of food were excellent. All members of staff were helpful and friendly, and the service was fantastic. I would highly recommend a visit.

Very disappointed food! Starter very small and expensive(pulled duck),and main was very poor too (surf and turf @ 33euro)
