Very lovely dining room with a great service. I had the burger it’s not fine dining but very tasty food. The one negative is the price of the chapel down fizz at £90 too expensive. The champagne cost less.

Great location. Selection of food was good but less so for one of our guests with special dietary needs.

The food was very good, we arrived late for Sunday lunch so it was quite, but the food was still lovely and fresh , the young man behind the bar was also lovely and very attentive, would highly recommend, and I’d eat here again for sure .

We booked The House hoping for a nice Sunday Roast but ended up having probably the worst roast ever. The "roast chicken" was a pale pan seared piece of dry chicken breast, and the beef was tough and overcooked. Service was non-existent - we had to get our own menus (we were given clipboards with 30 printed sheets of the same page), we had to go up to the counter to put our orders in because no one came over, and they got our orders wrong (both for drinks and food). There was one person holding the place together, and she apologised for the mess. Honestly, kudos to her for keeping her cool and I hope she gets the team she needs to keep this place running.

Mussels in wine/garlic sauce were delicious, but I was served a bowl of 12 and 3 of them were not opened. This was not right. Our friend's dessert — sticky toffee pudding — was just a stodgy consistency, and he sent it back as he would not eat it. 'Santa Fe' salad was very good (no cooking required).

We absolutely loved our Sunday lunch. Not only was the food incredibly well prepared and tasty but we had a lovely table overlooking the sea. Service was great and there was a really decent well-curated wine list ( not too big but well thought through). We will definitely be back.

Dining at The House Restaurant was a delightful experience. The excellent food and service was enhanced by the music from Team GB - Ginger Bennett/Frances Knight/Alex Keen.

We arrived early and went into the bar area for a drink whilst waiting for our table. Once our table was ready we were seated at a lovely dressed table with a great tea selection (unfortunately we were accompanied by a couple of ants) once the afternoon tea came out they looked lovely but I had to remind out server that I had ordered one vegetarian. The response I got was 'well it wasn't on our notes' I showed my booking confirmation where it stated one vegetarian and was again told 'it wasn't on our notes' I just sat looking at her unsure on what to say when she said 'well I know the table next to you has an allergy but IL to and check' she then went back to the kitchen and came back and said 'it definitely wasn't on our notes but we can make a couple of vegetarian sandwiches if you like' obviously I said yes please and she went off to get them. Five minutes later the sandwiches arrived and we were able to enjoy our afternoon tea. The food was lovely and there was a lovely variety we even took some home as we couldn't manage it all. Overall a nice experience just felt our server could have done with a bit more training in what to do if/when problems arise as I was made to feel like a pain and also almost like an inconvenience.

A lovely room with nice views and a charming waitress. The food was delicious apart a couple of slight disappointments: my bottled lager wasn't chilled and the saffron aioli served with my wife's chicken schnitzel had split - my wife detests sauces and dressings so the aioli didn't affect her enjoyment of her meal. We'd certainly return on the strength of the fish and chips.
