Very good. Waiters very attentive. Food amazing. Little bit pricy but you are paying for a great taste and experience. Highly recommend.
Delighted to be back in The Donnybrook again tonight & what an absolute pleasure to be greeted by the amazing Erica.
Erica gave us lovely outdoor table.
Our meals were amazing as per usual in the Donnybrook. Lovely wine too.
Huge thanks to Erica for the amazing welcome, the amazing service & exceptional professionalism. 👏👏👏
First thing is that the food is excellent. All tasty and well cooked. However the reason for the poor review is that a) the front of house person seemed to be annoyed that we had booked through open table and he hadn't been notified on his system. He wasn't particularly friendly and it felt like we were causing a problem for him. He seemed a little distracted - maybe not his day. It should be said the other waiter was pleasant and friendly. b) the food was lukewarm. We order the Sunday roast and while tasty, it was definitely cold especially the veg/potatoes. This was a minor issue in my opinion and I was too hungry to complain with little time to wait (3 kids in company) so finished without comment.
Little to recommend about The Donnybrook Gastropub. Poor service, moderate food, uninviting atmosphere. Grossly under staffed - one pleasant young man trying in vain to provide service to the entire downstairs area...... he didn't even have time to tidy up and clear the delph/cutlery/glasses etc from the vacated tables around us. Unfortunate accident at the serving area resulted in a lot of smashed delph and food being strewn about the floor - incredibly, it was left there for about 20 minutes. Had to order and collect drinks from the bar ourselves. Actually gave the waiter a generous tip .... purely out of sympathy for what management had inflicted on him!!
Food uninviting and of very mediocre quality - the main course seafood chowder particularly bad..... a lot of clams in a small portion (fortunately!) of a buttery/oily liquid.
Probably, the most damning feature of this gastropub is that it is actually cold! Don'y know if thay have any serviceable heating system ...... there was some gadget blowing out hot air on the counter behind us but this couldn't counteract the chill factor when the gale/draft/breeze blew through the place every time the door was opened.
Lovely food and very friendly & helpful staff. Recommended! A minor delay in delivering second round of drinks was resolved by a free pint, nice touch.
Totally fantastic evening tonight in The Donnybrook, as always.
Wonderful staff here, Luis, Juan & Conor to name but a few.
Food is consistently excellent. Great chef.
Great cocktails & great wine list.
Lovely restaurant & amazing staff. One of my favourites.
Not as good as prior visits. Main courses all over cooked. Smell of paint very distracting. Needs to up its game to get a good crowd.
