The French Paradox
Wine is the leitmotiv in the French Paradox Experimental Hall of taste, sense, texture and food pairing experiences. In a combination of the traditional and contemporary, we use the romance of candles to light our oak, terracotta, glass and zinc designed bars. Our modern temperature-controlled wine keeping equipment preserves 50 different wines for the service of wine by the glass. We have 160 different wines available.

Thanks for a great evening - so sad you had so many canx. that evening but fair play to the team for opening up to remind us what it is like to feel normal again!! And the wine tasting was fantastic
Perfect service, kept simply and noninvasive. Our server advised us on wines and his recommendations were perfect. We felt very comfortable and safe with COVID restrictions and enjoyed cheese and smoked salmon. Next time will try something more substantial.
A wonderful experience - marvellous food, charming ambiance and delightful wait staff. We will definitely be eating here again!
The waitress was very nice the food was incredible and the wine was also perfect I had to bring a bottle with me to enjoy another evening. It’s great that they have the wines downstairs you can always go home with a few bottles
Lovely staff, tasty food, sat at high table on the second floor - most enjoyable
Wonderful food. Beautiful simple menu very well presented. Wine is incredible. Extremely well priced and seemingly from smaller producing chateaus. Service was exquisite. We will be back. A lot.
Super healthy food, good service and a great variety of wines
Lovely evening. Lovely French food and welcoming knowledgeable staff.
Fantastic evening- great staff. Can’t wait to go again.
We had a gorgeous evening. The waiter made a very thoughtful recommendation for our food and wine choice, which was perfect. Table was intimate, and even though there were several parties in the restaurant, it didn't impose on our evening. Exceptional wine, delicious food, great service.
Cancelled our appointment with no expka
GreF food and service. Wine was terrific!
Absolutely great on wine and food despite under seasoning. Service, ambience and price really good.
Perfect starting point for our night out at the RDS to see Fleetwood Mac. If we had a different table it might have gotten full marks, we were a little snug between the counter and the door to go down the stairs, but still enjoyed ourselves.
Nice French style tapas and wines in a nice, cozy atmosphere. Unusual place in Dublin, I totally recommend it.
A wonderful night as always, excellent wine recommendations, great food and service.
Outstanding service, great wine list, delicious food
My first time at The French Paradox and it was all that I expected and more. Myself and my fellow diner chose three of the tapas to share as starters, anchoïade, goose rillettes and andouille Basque and we also shared the main course dish of foie gras presented four ways. All of the food was superb and there was no skimping on portions. We entrusted our waiter with the task of matching wines by the glass with each dish and his skill at this was excellent. All in all it made for an impromptu tasting menu with appropriate wine pairings and, as such, was very good value. We also had a bottle of Badoit and two excellent espressos to round off the meal. I will certainly be back to try the other tempting dishes on the menu and to enjoy more well-chosen wine pairings.
the French Paradox is just such a great, welcoming venue. Food is great, wine is fantastic and the hosts are just great people. My only problem with writing this review is that I dont want it to get any harder to get a table there on match days!!!!!!!
Wonderful, knowledgeable people, who created an intimate evening for me and my wife. The food is delicious and the wine is delicious and priced to enjoy several glasses or carafes, regardless of budget.
Unbelievable experience as always, it was New Years Eve and we chose to go here for a quick charcuterie board and glass of wine before an evening out. We knew it wouldn’t disappoint as it’s always so reliable and it exceeded all expectations as per usual.
We had a family birthday and the wines, starters and service could not be faulted, the mains could be improved but it was Christmas. No hesitation recommending
Late lunch for two people prior to a Leinster match in the RDS. Nice atmosphere, sitting upstairs with a small but more than adequate menu with a good selection of wine. Hassle free service in an ideal location for RDS / Aviva.
French Paradox, serves ultra classic French food....so it is good and the service is very good, very classic too and by the way I am French even if I have not lived there for a very long time.
However, I feel the cuisine at French Paradox lacks a little bit of finesse, and although I enjoyed my food , I was not submerged by sensations, tastes... it was actually rather bland.
They do have decent wine list.
So do I like it... yes, but I am not sure I'll go back, its a good "local" if you live few streets away...
After a match at the Aviva or the horse show at RDS it will definitely satisfy most of us...
