    Visit here often and yesterday was disappointing 😞 Large hen party couldn't hear yourself talk. Moved tables and it was very cold unfortunately lady beside us had a baby and didn't want the heater on. Service slow had to chase them for drinks, menus at dessert Lovely place and food is good.. just a bad day!

    Lovely atmosphere, management were stressed out due to it seems staff shortages. Thus not as welcoming or friendly as previously experienced from them. Staff serving table were inexperienced, but again presume related to the situation on the day. Coming up to Christmas would explain the challenge. Food was good and tasty with nice wine menu. Would come back again for the ambience.

    The lunch menu is good and there is something for everyones palate. I had the tempura prawns which were delicious.

    Very pleasant lunch. Food was very well presented and tasty although the soup could have been a bit hotter. Service was good. We may have been overcharged for the glass of wine but didn't challenge it. Overall, it was a good choice and will go again.

    Ordered 2 portions of pancakes. Arrived cold came back luke warm and I'd be very hard to be convinced that they weren't pat the Baker ones not freshly made. Coffee luke warm and found it hard to order another drink. Would be very pushed to go back.

    We had roast beef the meat was very tough I couldn’t even cut it with normal knife. Food and service needs to be improved no sugar offered with tea/ coffee hard to get attention from staff

    We had a wonderful experience! The place is beautifully decorated, the food was delicious, with good options to choose from, including a kids menu. The staff was really nice and attentive. We went with two toddlers and they offered us high chair, crayons and paper to paint. We felt very welcomed and we definitely want to come back.

    Breakfast on Monday morning couldn’t have been better or tastier! The friend I brought had never been in The Gables before and was very impressed with the decor, ambience and food. The girl that served us was most friendly and lovely to chat. See you Saturday.. third time in 3 weeks…..not bad?😊

    After looking at the menu online we knew what we were having so we were a little disappointed to discover the menu had changed and we had to rethink what we would like from the new menu. But the food is good and though we sat outside in the covered area - the over head heaters were brilliant- we were cosy. We definitely will go back again.

    Lunch Mains food was extremely poor, no vegetables just a few leaves of lettuce nicely presented! Poor value for money.

    4 of us had dinner. Quite a buzz around. Service was very good. Burger, tempura prawns, salad, crab & lobster tort all tasty and nicely presented.

    The decor and setting is lovely and sets the platform for a good evening. The food and wine menu have good choices - something for everyone. The service is friendly and efficient - not intrusive. Overall a relaxing experience - most enjoyable.

    Food was lovely as always. Seemed to be some confusion with our order, wrong food arrived then waited an hour for correct order. Staff were very apologetic & we were chatting away so not a great hardship.

    I will never go back ever again. Brought my daughter and her partner for brunch we all ordered at the same time . My order arrived as did my daughters I HAD FINISHED EATING WHEN FINALLY THE MISSING IRDER ARRIVED IT WAS ONLY A FRY VERY POOR MANAGEMENT NO APOLOGY!

    From the moment we arrived the staff could not have been more helpful - especially in regards to the table location Food was hot and tasty and we were more than happy with everything We had a lovely server and couldn’t fault a thing !

    Lovely restaurant however few large groups in dining area meant noise level was veyy try loud, also meant service was poor. Long time waiting for a drink order and while food was lovely it was Luke warm. Feel the restaurant was under pressure being so full and will go back as suspect it would be better in a less busy night.

    Overall it was an enjoyable experience. Service was poor but friendly, had to ask for water, wine list and to take our order!! Both starters were cold in spots, as were the veg with the main courses, however, food quality and taste were good.

    Always enjoy our brunches/lunches at The Gables. I was on crutches and let them know in advance via online booking and they very kindly had the perfect table for our party of four which the crutches were not in the way of any other guests - plus I felt safe and comfortable as it was my first outing since my accident. Always enjoy our time there.

    The Service was very poor - for lunch to wait over 20 minutes between courses was very poor. The food was overdue , both the duck and monkfish were rubbery. this is not the first.
