   Food was lovely, but service was a bit slow and seemed a bit under staffed. Slow to take away plates and when I looked up to find someone to draw attention, there was nobody there.

    The Gables is a lovely place to meet friends. I appreciated getting a table indoors as requested as the chairs and tables are comfortable there (the covered outdoor area is bright and warm but the chairs can be very uncomfortable and the wrong height for the tables). I was disappointed at the poor choice on the brunch menu as I had been to the restaurant in early December and there had been a much better lunch menu. I would check the menu choices before booking again. The staff members are to be complimented as we were greeted immediately on arrival and the servers were really friendly. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

    Lovely venue and location for a relaxing Sunday afternoon . Lovely atmosphere and decor . Chicken wings delicious . Food good quality just found service slow despite place not being that busy. Deserts pricy @€9 each so lower score on value for money .

    Always enjoy this restaurant both for lunch and dinner. Only problem I ever have is that I find the place quite cold and drafty!! It was the same yesterday but they finally put on heat after two hours of being there. Still really like it here but they need to address the issues with main doors causing drafts...

    This restaurant has come on so much after the rebrand. I have been a couple times since they changed it and my experience last night was amazing. The food was brilliant and same for the service. After we were seated, the waiter even said he’ll have an even nicer table ready if we wanted it in a few moments. After we moved we realised how much nicer the spot was, so nice on the waiters behalf to notice these things as I though our original spot was perfect. The table was bigger and the lighting was softer/ more romantic and the couches were so much more comfier. Such a good shout and made our experience so much more comfortable. We will be back

    We went for Valentines, it was our first time trying here. The food was so good! The staff were lovely however the service itself was a big disappointment unfortunately. We arrived on time and were left waiting over 5 minutes before being seated. We ordered water when seated and it didn’t arrive until our starters came once we reminded the waiter. 3 times waiters came to our table with orders not for us. The Tomahawk was very tasty but the serving plates were not hot which meant the meat didn’t stay hot for long which was a pity. The wait time from starter to main was about 40 minutes and then when our deserts arrived the table beside us who ordered theirs well before us didn’t receive theres until ours was done. The wait staff were quite young so perhaps they were new and not fully trained up yet. I will reiterate they were all lovely and friendly just the actual service was not up to scratch. I will definitely be back to give here another chance though as the food really was very tasty and it’s a lovely spot in Foxrock!

    We were seated and then forgotten about. When we needed something we had to leave our seat to find a waitress and that included asking for our bill. It was not as if the places was busy as it was less than half full. Terrible experience overall.

    The last time we were at the Gables was pre Covid when it was a restaurant. It now feels like a gastro pub. We were seated in an outside glass area that had young children in its after 8pm. I would say the Gables has moved a bit down market from what it used to be. The same thing has happened with what used to be called Bistro One across the road.
