    I have always liked this place. As always the staff were helpful and pleasant. However the menu selection is limited and it is overpriced. Great cocktails but at 14.50 each, they are expensive,. Wine especially is overpriced. Mandatory service charge, even for 2 people pushed the bill even further. This is my second disappointing visit in a row, I dont think I will go back

    Great experience. I hadn’t been back since before Covid and was absolutely delighted that it was as good as I remembered. Staff couldn’t have been kinder, attentive and polite and the whole experience was faultless. Thanks for a great Birthday lunch with those extra special touches.. will be back soon.

    Lovely restaurant, delicious food and great service. Only complaint was we asked for some whiskey to finish our meal and it seemed to cause some confusion and never appeared! I wouldn't let that put me off though. All in all a lovely night out and will definitely go back

    Great food, great service, great fun. Enjoyed our meal and the entertaining wait staff who were so friendly and welcoming. I had the fish special, grilled sea bream & it was a delight - cooked perfectly & the presentation was beautiful. My husband wanted something light so he ordered the gambas appetizer (garlic prawns) but it was dinner sized enough for him. The gambas sauce was so tasty I kept dipping my potatoes in it. Cocktails were strong, ambience took me back to Paris & it was a wonderful last dinner in Dublin after all the delicious Irish meats we’d been eating.

    We came by Green Hen on Exchequer Street for the first time Monday with my mom, and we had an extraordinary experience. The cocktails were excellent and unique. Duck spring rolls were gorgeous and the mackerel, too! Our steaks were perfectly cooked. As for the service, our waiter christopher was just outstanding and his manager Dragan provided exceptional recommendations and explanations about the dishes . A must-visit spot in Dublin. We both can't wait to come back soon !

    Wonderful food and service , I don’t like a restaurant forcing a service charge , should be for client to tip on service not an extra charge of 12.5% , otherwise the food is out of this world

    Lovely place with good service and food. The smoked mackerel rillette, steak and peppercorn sauce were delicious. Although the cocktails were highly touted, they were just average. The atmosphere/decor can’t be beaten!

    Enjoyable setting and atmosphere, decent value all things said but a little bit hesitant to heap praise on the food. While all was tasty, there was a touch of a lack of finish quality you would expect from French cuisine. Pork chop was quite dry with the dressings and sauces being very impressive. Had asked for a birthday message to come with desert on my booking, as well as ringing the restaurant in advance, and this wasn't fulfilled despite being confirmed on the phone. That was disappointing.

    Food was nice, atmosphere good, waiting staff nice but two complaints: I booked a standard table and was put at a high table with high stools. Also we were asked to move to the bar to finish our drinks as they needed the table back, we paid the bill which included a 12.5% service charge (strange to have a mandatory charge even though there were only two of us) and when we moved 3 feet over to the bar and purchased drinks there we were charged another 10% service charge for the drinks which is ridiculous! Only reason we moved to the bar was because they asked us to! Won’t be returning for that reason.

    Total rip off. We queried a charge for drink in the bill for 6 Euro & was advised advised it was for tap water & refill of tap water. Absolute disgrace

    Really enjoyable lunch! Not very kid friendly just for anyone who’s planning to go with kids - only one high chair and the children’s portion was same price as adults even though it was smaller. Staff very pleasant though.

    Service was a bit erratic. I wasn’t sure who our server was as I think everyone served us at points. We were slightly forgotten about while everyone around us had their orders taken timely. Starters came before our drinks etc. I would prefer if the service charge(12.5%) was not automatically applied to the bill as I like to decide myself on the tip depending on service. Apart from the service, the food was very good and I would eat there again.

    My husband & I enjoyed a delicious meal at The Green Hen last night with a very quiet room to ourselves to begin with. Our waiter looked after us very well & was very knowledgeable about the food & wine served. Would highly recommend this French Bistro.
