We serve lunch at THE GRILL at both THE GRILL and THE POOL. You may be seated in either THE GRILL or THE POOL. The menus are the same during lunch service. You may make a request to be seated in either room, however, we cannot guarantee seating in a specific room.
THE GRILL is a mid-century American Chophouse created by Mario Carbone, Jeff Zalaznick and Rich Torrisi. It is housed in the only landmarked restaurant in New York inside the iconic Seagram Building and takes great inspiration from it's surroundings.
As it's name implies, the grill is meaningful to the restaurants style, service and food. Major Food Group takes great pride in celebrating the tradition of great food and great fun in one of the world's greatest restaurant spaces.
The food was excellent and the service was impeccable. A little noisy unfortunately.
gorgeous food - the bread rolls!!! - and ambiance, breathtakingly expensive. Slightly miffed that we left an enormous tip - $150 ish - but noone acknowledged our leaving. Which makes you feel there is a perfunctory element to the service. But the room is great and we were given a fantastic table. My youngest son hailed the whole experience as the best thing we did on a week long - packed - NYC trip.
Very nice atmosphere. Very good service The food is completely overpriced. 47 dollars for a lunch steak?
Ridiculous. Good for expence account lunches only
Excellent pumpkin soup
One of the best restaurants I have visited in Manhattan. The food, the service and the ambiance is outstanding.
Service was slow and the food is ridiculously overpriced. (I am saying this even when I am on an expense account.)$39 for a crabcake and $150 for a steak. Aside from price, the food was very good.
What an amazing experience! Pricey, to be sure, but worth it!
LOVED IT. Service was top-notch, gorgeous and roomy venue with high ceilings that still managed to be cozy. Food was all amazing-- top notch.
Beware of subdued, stuffy environment - it's really a place for high-level business lunches. BUT our group was celebrating a special business related event and we were thrilled and in our moment. In spite of the more serious-side aura, we made our own little party right in the middle of it all and nobody seemed to mind. The waiter was fab fab fab, so accommodating (likely enjoyed the antics), and the food was abs delish. Quite an experience. A+ on service all the way around. Thanks!!
We went to celebrate our October birthdays with another couple. First class from start to finish.
We enjoyed the food prep at the table, the way they carve the prime rib table side, and the helpful staff
in explaining the dishes. Most importantly the food was delicious and cooked to perfection.
This is in what appears to be the lobby of a 70’s office building. The staff is full of attitude for no good reason. For example, they have three treatments for their steak and the waiter said “let me know if you need explanations for those.” The food was mediocre and overpriced for being in the lobby of an office building.
The place is the best. Great combo of old-school (table side service), fun, and a bit formal as you know you are in a special place. More importantly, the food is phenomenal and the service is spectacular.
From reception all the way through the meal, attentive and superb.
Food was excellent-as it should be for the price- but wait staff was lacking in attentiveness. Other staff were great (bartender, hostess...) but waiter seemed indifferent.
Best New York steak ever!
Great lunch at the bar. Quiet and the off the menu sliced steak sandwich was excellent
Oscar the bartender was fabulous! Marco our server was great. Food was outstanding
Everything was excellent apart from the nearly hour-long wait for our table.
very memorable experience... the food, environment and the staff were amazing. Shared the prime rib (PERFECT) so we were able to order (and also share) 2 appetizers - the crab cake and the scallop (also great). Finished up with the theatrical Peach Melba (also great and shared). I must also mention a special shout out for the bread basket....... the unsung hero of the meal - it’s really, really delicious! We will be back (I googled to find out where the bread is made and how I may get my hands on it to no avail).
My husband and I came her for our first wedding anniversary. The service was impeccable and I had the best steak I've ever eaten. Most importantly though, the ambiance was wonderful. I loved the room, the decoration, the atmosphere. It lived up to my high expectations. It's a restaurant I want to visit more regularly. The price tag was of course hefty, but it was worth it.
Absolutely fantastic in every way!
Overpriced rip off . You won't get high quality food for the high end prices and that comes with years of restaurant experience and travelling the world. I Ordered lamb chops for $110 and received 3 small chops and 1 or the 3 looked like the chef stepped on it . It was butchered bad. Management told me that was normal for $110 + joke . Nothing blew us away. Prime rib @ $75 was tough and not tender. Apps nothing special. Dessert same .Way better spots in NYC . The place is very nice inside but that's it . Management had attitude when I sent back the insulting lamb chops . He never came back . Joke.
Great service and excellent food!
Service was excellent!
great steak, amazing service. lemon chiffon cake is a must!
Congrats! Food was great and service was magnificent!
Beautiful place food was also great
The wine list is extensive and found a great bottle of california pinot noir. I had a bone in strip steak prepared medium rare as was ordered. It was rich , tender and flavorful. The service was spot on and the timing impeccable. This is one of New York’s finest restaurants.
food was excellent other than the pasta a la presse which was subpar (rubbery noodles, sauce was uninspired). Service a little cold and condescending, to be expected for such a fancy place, but would appreciate a little more friendliness for the couples that are splurging for a special event compared to the usual ruling class, hedge fund chieftains, and dilettantes that frequent this joint.
My husband and I dined at the old Four Seasons both in the grill room and my favorite the pool room. That was closed for an event and so we ate in the grill room.
I was accustomed to the prices at the old Four Seasons, I must say I was stunned by the prices here! $100. for Three lamb chops, I think even the captain was appalled.
Just one roll (not very good) per person and no nibble as they used to give you. Everything was a la carte ! Not a single garnish not even a sprig of parsley.
It was no surprise that the restaurant was fairly empty at lunch.
I will be stunned if they are able to stay in business charging these prices.
Food was phenomenal. Dover sole was perfection as was the chopped salad. Our biggest complaint was that everyone we encountered failed to introduce themselves. Everyone. Bartenders had an attitude problem. No interaction at all. Our server and accompanying staff for dinner did a great job but again “no name”brigade. The ladies at the hostess station were upbeat and friendly. Yeah!
The food is excellent. The ambiance is lovely. My only complaint is that they RUSH you along to obviously turn over the table. Before you have the first sip of your drink, the waiter is there with the menus & a message about specials. People go out to dinner to talk to one another.
Service was amazing. Bread and the crabs cakes were too. The fish dishes were ok at best and the steak was good, but way overpriced. Decent meal, but at $450 for two people expect a great to amazing food. FYI only one person drinking a few cocktails in that bill.
Wonderful great service did not rush us.
enjoyed this restaurant a great deal! Better than the Pool. Food was fantastic
We had a wonderful evening, elegant, sophisticated dining.
Graet time awesome food
Service was excellent and the food very good. However, even for New York, more pricy than it should be.
The Grill is an amazing experience for special occasions! The food was flawless as well as the service. I enjoyed every bite!
Outstanding ambiance, food and service, if not a bit overpriced.
