   I flippin' love this place. Decor is gorgeous, food is perfect. Next time I will ask for a corner table so I can sit closer to my guests.

   Food was very good. My friend and I both ordered a cocktail, mine took a long time to come, we ended up getting out two drinks on the house and a free piece of cake XD

   Been here several times for both private and business breakfasts and lunches. Great location. It's a very old shop with an interesting interior. Tables are close together and toilets are a hike into the next door mall, so some disabled people may not be comfortable. Vision-impaired patrons may have difficulty with the dim interior. Service is friendly and polite, but the restaurant is busy so both food and service can be hit-and-miss at times. Menu suits most people- view it online. Special diets are accommodated when possible. More vegan/vegetarian menu choices would be great. No window views. Prices about average. Noise level not too loud during the day. Overall a nice place, but busy.

   We arrived on time and were ushered to our booth. Our spot was closer to the kitchrn area. It was a wet night and cold, where we were seated, thr windows at the bar were open. We (4 cold mums) whinged amongst ourselves but order our drinks and meals at the same time as we were starving and cold. The meals were quick to arrive, so quick we had to ask for our drinks to be served as it was getting on in time. Food was delicious. We had salt and pepper cuttlefish, roasted pumpkin, salmon croquette with fries, and the linguine. All delicious. Our bellies were full and happy that we forgot about the cold.

   The lamb was perfectly cooked & extremely tender, 10/10 for that. The prawn, crab oil in the linguine was like having the most delicate bouillabaisse, but was way too mild, the flavour needs to be amplified and it would be a perfect dish. Also where do you source your kingfish from, it was so fresh, clean & firm. The sauce was a bit too salty, for a carpaccio balance is so vital, a little bit of citrus would make a huge difference. Also exceptional service, all the staff were so overly kind & the interior design was so elegant.

    It was a great evening for both of us, specifically, when we were served by Ebo. He was nit only serving us with the great foods but also making us very computable with his funny words. We highly appreciate Ebo's exceptional service.

    Out of date menu with items like bottom less tea or high tea experiences included that they no longer offer. Service was poor with waiter staying silent when asked questions and not giving alternate suggestions for everything no longer available. We were also dining just before 5pm and they had run out of desserts, but did not mention there was a seperate dessert menu starting at 5pm. Only to see others having dessert as we left after not being able to experience anything we came for. Overall would not recommend, over hyped.

    Character filled ambient cafe in a convenient city location had to wait a good 10 min outside a closed door even with a booking. Quite noisy inside and while staff were fairly efficient they seem robotic and there is no personalised service. Foods quite expensive at $27 for a sandwich with onion rings !! Though it came with fries there was only 1 small onion ring hidden in the sandwich! Enjoyable but could b better.

    Haven't been made aware that the kitchen was closing soon after I arrived. The waitress asked me if I wanted to have my entree and main separately or together, I chose separately. But then she came back to me to rush me because she said "the kitchen is closing so I need to send your main now" while I was still eating my entree. Ending up with a stomach ache for the rest of the night because I had to eat fast. Her service was very poor despite the restaurant getting emptier. I have been disappointed last time I went there aswell, about 6 months ago. I will not return.

    Food and decor were great. Service was so poor it detracted from what could have been an enjoyable lunch. I wouldn't' go back. Why was the service so bad ? We had to ask for the sides to be brought after the main courses had arrived and we were half way through the meals, the meat knife was brought half-way through the meal, we asked three times for servers for the sides (I had to leave my seat to find a waiter), then we had to ask for side plates for the shared dessert (they just brought us extra spoons and we didn't want to "double dip" our spoons due to Covid ); teaspoons and sugar did not arrive with the coffees and teas --so we had to ask for those, they wouldn't let us spit the bill three ways; in the middle of paying the bill the waiter just left and went to another table. What promised to be a very enjoyable lunch became frustrating and tedious.

    Very small portions for the price, we waited a long time for our food. The ambiance was quaint, and food tasted nice but came incomplete, we needed to get up and find someone to help us with the orders errors. Over all it was nice but there are way better cafes to experience in Sydney.

    Our meal was delicious and good coffee. It was hard to get the waiters attention at times. Had to wait some time for them to come and take our order. Otherwise a fantastic brunch catch up in a beautiful setting.

    Great decor and atmosphere but food was average. Had the breakie burger and was pretty average for the price. Wouldn’t recommend grounds of the city based off my meal however other meals might be better.

    Bit underwhelming unfortunately. Place looks and feels amazing but they kinda drop the ball after that. Food was well over priced for what you get. Went twice as thought the first time I ordered badly but both times I paid $22-25 and left hungry. Ordered the peach pancakes second time visiting and there wasn’t even peach on them. When questioned I was told there no longer served with peach…. First time I order the corn fritters. Received one egg, one corn fritter, some condiments and bacon for $25…. Tasted great but was the size of half a meal to be honest. Coffee was faultless both visit and the vibe is great. Hopefully 3rd time is the lucky one!!!

    I don’t recall if we received any customer service. Asked for some water a couple times but turned out no water service until we left the venue. Asked for our bills but asked to go back to table ,waiting for a while no sign of assisting us with payment. Asked once again but didn’t come to our table for another 5-10mins. Positive part was good food but feel sorry for chefs as with this service it doesn’t matter the how good food is, just not positive experience at all.

    The Grounds is the perfect place to meet in a group of 4, as you can get nice booth seats. The food is fresh and excellent, we all had salads and one had linguine - all delicious. The coffee is always worth the visit anytime and one had the hot chocolate which looked amazing. We will be back
