The Highlight Room’s real showstopper is the spectacular view of the city through a glass wall that spans the entire width of the room and folds back to allow access to the outdoor terrace. From there, guests can lift a cocktail to the expansive views — north to the Empire State Building, south to the Freedom Tower. The north and south sides of the room are lined with two-toned leather and velvet banquettes positioned to take advantage of the cityscape views from floor-to-ceiling windows.

The bar, set off by wooden arches and antique mirrors, complements the greenery, and elaborate, candelabra-style chandeliers allude to the candles that would illuminate the German garden as evening fell. Layers of premium materials — plaster, brass, velvet upholstery, caramel drapery, terrazzo tiles — add a dose of playful luxury. Although the bar is open to the public, the overall sense is of a swank member’s club, a private Eden commanding the sky above the Lower East Side. Must be 21+.

    Recently, I went to New York City for a girls’ trip overnight and we stayed at Moxy on the Lower East Side. This spot has a fantastic restaurant on site, Sake No Hana, a piano lounge called Silver Lining with great drinks, a rooftop bar called the highlight room, and even a nightclub, Loosie’s. The hotel is sleek and modern, blending in the feel of the Lower East Side and SOHO flawlessly. You and your squad will enjoy clean and comfy rooms in a location that is surrounded with the fun sights and sounds of New York, and feels like you’re in the heart of everything. From arrival to check out, the staff was fantastic & we loved every minute of our stay.     @thehighlightroomnyc has the best happy hour! 🍸 Tuesday-Thursday 5-9pm they serve $5 Rosé. We also got the sweet potato waffle fries and they did not disappoint! They were the perfect amount of crunchy and the lime yogurt that comes with it is the icing on the cake! You should definitely try to go during sunset so you can catch it out on their rooftop. Also, as you can see the ambiance inside is stunning and there was a Dj spinning all the hits.     Came to celebrate my sister’s birthday. There was different info shared when I called them and when I messaged them asking about bringing cake or adding the celebration package so that was disappointing since we couldn’t do either. We were given a tiny table that barely fit 5 people and we were a group of 7. They had no more available stools for us to add and said we could stand. I then asked our server if we could move to a table outside (it was freezing but at least we could sit together) and she was able to make that happen. Because of all this we didn’t get time to order food. However, drinks were good, energy and dj were great. Loved the ambiance.

    Went for happy hour 5-7 on 9/23 before concert. Asked for a table w a view. Our backs were to the skyline and sunset outside. HH mini martinis were literally consumed in 2 sips for $9. Menu was very light on happy hour options and portion sizes were small. Best was a glass of Pinot that was a very nice pour for $10. Just wasn’t impressed. Had to Order 4 items to fill up.

    A great time was had, and the Team & Manager were very courteous and accommodating when requested tables to be close/near to our group. Always a vibe -- this was my 3rd visit to THR!

    We purchased the champagne add-on through the OpenTable app, and the confirmation email instructed us to pay for it at the restaurant. The add-on was clearly listed at $106, but when we arrived, the manager claimed it actually cost $650 and refused to honor the advertised price. The service throughout the night was equally disappointing. Our server was rarely around, and despite having a reserved table for a birthday celebration, we repeatedly had to go to the bar ourselves just to order drinks. The music was good, but unfortunately the poor service and the way the pricing issue was handled completely overshadowed the experience.

    I like this spot I’ve been three times. Twice for happy hour and once for a night time party. The happy hour is a good time. The bites are decent and the drinks are good. I do think the pitchers to share are over priced but the mini martini’s are a good value 3 for $24. The view and decor is very pretty and the service has always been efficient and pleasant.
