To the Owner/Manager
My name is Alan and I was a customer last night at your restaurant. I do want to say firstly that I’ve visited many times previously and had a fabulous time. Loved the food, the vibes and it’s the reason I’ve visited on many occasions . Last night however myself and my party had an experience that is absolutely not ok, and wanted to reach out to communicate this to the management/owner. I appreciate it’s a very difficult time for the hospitality industry at the moment with staffing issues; and because of this I decided to email privately rather than sharing a bad review online.
At last nights dinner we arrived at 6.30pm and left at almost 8.30pm with only a plate of very poorly cooked nachos. We waited almost 90 minutes for one starter, the rest of the party didn’t eat at all as we decided to leave to try get food else where. The restaurant was chaotic and many customers were openly talking about how long people are waiting and how uncomfortable the entire night was. At no point did anyone check on us or apologize for the delay or acknowledge the chaos. We were also charged for two rounds of drinks, when we only received one. The entire night was shocking and it was very clear there was no system in place and the running of the restaurant was in disarray. Poor service, shocking delays for food and drink and painfully uncomfortable night from start to finish. The manager also blamed the staff for being new on the issues, which I thought was very dismissive and in bad taste. The length of time waiting on the food is definitely by far the biggest issue here.
I wanted to bring this to your attention and would appreciate an acknowledgment of this complaint.
The food and drinks was great.
The service was very slow, we had to wait over 20 min for 1 cocktail.
After us there was another reservation we where rushed to finish our food and drinks.
I ordered a burrito and churros and it was all very tasty and portions were good. Unfortunately they only had one server for 6+ tables so it was very hard to get the man’s attention. Lastly, he brought me the wrong check and I almost ended up paying for stuff I didn’t order. Good thing I checked. He was probably so stressed dealing with so many tables that he didn’t even pay attention to what he was charging me. Not good.
I think they were a bit understaffed or maybe the servers were new - lots of tables had to ask for cutlery, etc. The grande nachos were kind of … sad. But the fajitas with steak were excellent. We sat in the main dining area and it was packed with people on a Sunday evening.
Service was slow but everything else was great 👍
Terrible experience overall. We were left waiting for over an hour for our first drink so sat at a completely empty table. Food took an hour and 10 minutes to arrive and when it arrived it wasn’t as described on the menu. There were four of us and for our second drink 2 took 20 minutes and 45 minutes later the other 2 hadn’t arrived. Overall we spend probably 20 minutes eating and drinking while being there for 2 hours. Really really bad service.
Really delicious food and value for money but service is painfully slow.
My second time coming here. The food is always really good, lots of flavour and portions are really big. The atmosphere is great.
The food and cocktails are good but the service was so slow, we were starving after an hour we ordered. When we asked the waiter, he was not friendly at all and raised his voice saying we should wait. Overall it was not a good experience and I won't go back because of this.
fantastic evening, some of the best mexican food in dublin that I’ve ever had. the staff are fantastic and definitely one of the better margaritas going.
Pathetic! For a reservation at 8PM, we received our food at 9:10PM. While it’s understandable that delays happen, the server did not even bother to keep us informed. Despite asking her to check at the status of the order, she was ignorant. When the order arrived after over an hour, the food was barely warm. Killed the experience of going to a good Mexican restaurant. Highly discourage for the bad service.
Our food was served 1 hour 20 minutes after we arrived and wasn’t good at all
So much fun, €26 for a litre of margaritas was such a fair price because the quality was so good. Great music (blu cantrell, Beyoncé, Aaliyah) and the staff were so nice. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun restaurant with good food and great drinks. Will deffo be back
The starter prices and main course prices are same but the quantity differs.
Awesome as per usual!
Had delicious food which was a really good portion size and delicious margaritas, our server was also lovely and very accommodating
Food was tasty and authentic, atmosphere was good for a large group
Vegetarian options were little dry.
Good food and cocktails. Service was slow
This is a fun spot, where you can get fed adequately. Service was exceptionally poor on the night. Dec 20 busiest night in Dublin? Waiting time to order even drinks but worst of all 30 mins between service for people at same table. Ours was party of 6. This place has potential though to be great as it is unique.
Unreal food, lovely staff, great cocktails
Food was awful however service was pleasant. Really disappointed and will not be returning.
Excellent food and cocktails. Laid back vibe, good music and sombreros!
What a beautiful hidden gem this place is! Myself and my partner throughly enjoyed our meal here Saturday. Such a quirky little place. Thank you! It was fantastic from
Start to finish!!
Small but atmospheric Mexican restaurant. Nice food and cocktails, and great prices. V nice staff also. Will happily be back!
The female waitress doing everything and the guy was useless He called us awkward when paying, handed us cutlery by the part you eat off, continuously made comments about how he himself was lazy or forgot stuff.
The girl waitress tried to recover his mistakes but our meal was even further ruined when food came out with hair in it. We sent it back and when we got a replacement, that had hair in it too!! So gross; and all they did was not charge us for it. Would have expected an apology & possibly a dessert on the house.
Won’t be back
Great Chimmichangas and even better Margaritas!
Food not great
Service really slow
Won’t go bacj
Delicious food, great service, great value. Loads of vegan options! Recommended!
Great food and drinks, friendly staff, and handy location for Temple Bar, shopping etc. And it was a great price! Only downfall would be the toilets - could do with a revamp.
Went in for my birthday and there was 14 of us. We were a handful and the servers were INCREDIBLE! Every single person said the food was amazing, so happy with everything. Food, drink and overall experience was more than I could have asked for.
Food was very good, only the location itself was quite noisy. For eating and having some drinks with friends it's fine but I wouldn't call it family friendly. Conversations are barely possible due to the noise.
Be sure to order the Grande Nachos. The chili spice on the nacho chips complimented the cheese and veggies on top perfectly. So yummy!! We highly recommend the enchiladas with the chipotle sauce. Disfrutamos nuestra comida.
Best burrito ever tasted, sooo yummy!!! Friendly staff
After living in Ireland for nearly a year, we finally found a place that is good, basic Mexican food. Not fancy, but not fast food either. The habanero salsa is actually hot, which is hard to find in Dublin. The nachos are hand-made flour chips and, while unexpected, are fantastic! Nice wait staff, good service. Cozy setting.
The food was lovely and the portion sizes were generous. The restaurant initially looked very dark and unappealing but after having food there and enjoying drinks, it all works really well. Definitely would go back
The food was excellent. Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for it to arrive while we were repeatedly offered drinks rather cynically in the interim. The waitress was quite pushy when asking for drinks orders.
Excellent food but extremely slow service you might starve to death before it arrives.
Nicest nachos Iv ever had
Really njoyed our night
Will definitely be back 👍🏻
While all looked well initially with a nice lively cantina like atmosphere the food was pretty disappointing. Nachos were very poor with strange Tortilla chips and very limited toppings which meant it was very overpriced at 9.95 Euros. Vegetarian burrito was filled with undercooked rice while the chicken fajitas had dry overcooked chicken although the et of the dish was fine. Pitcher of margarita was tasty though only had a hint of tequila which seemed was bad value at 25 Euros. Overall a disappointing experience.
