Had a really nice meal and will definitely be back on my next visit to Dublin.
Buzzy and festive
Food cold, tea cold. This is third time visiting and can't understand why food is not piping hot.
I think the problem is it takes too long to go from kitchen to table. I asked for a slice of bread and I had food eaten , tea drank, paper read when bread came.
Great decor nice ambience really poor service good food
A lovely restaurant with nice decor / ambience. Food lovely but way over priced. Rip off Ireland is alive and well !
This was our 3rd time there in about 3 months but this time my friends chicken was pink, service was poor and not timely and when you are spending €70 pp you expect a lot more. Ambiance with and decor are cool but at the end of the day you expect good food and service e which we didn’t receive. Will not be going back any time soon.
Beautiful restaurant. Will definitely be returning
Very good food - everyone catered for - service excellent!
Waiter seemed completely disinterested if not a bit rude
Amazing food, lovely decor and the staff very friendly would definitely go back again
Great evening, delicious food and very good service.
Excellent evening.. staff were so professional. Food was amazing. Venue beautiful. Cant wait to go back!
Enjoyable and reasonably priced. Staff pleasant
First table for 2 was terrible, we asked to be moved and we got a good table. People should not be seated so close to others that conversations can be clearly heard.
Lovely set lunch with a corner window table, beautiful soup and salmon, finished off with delicious chocolate cake - will definitely visit again. Only off note was the service charge protest - valid I think
A great atmosphere and buzz in this place, and the decor is beautiful. Our waiter was very helpful and informative. the food was delicious, the blackened cod was excellent and the cocktails afterwards were the perfect way to finish off our meal. we didn't order dessert as we were full from our starter and mains.
Mess up at check in to our table, impersonal service, lack lustre food.
Had an enjoyable evening. Food was good but could be better. Service was OK, would not have given a tip as large as the service charge that was automatically added. Had to ask twice for a glass of wine, had finished my meal by the time it arrived.
Nice surprise to be able to book a table only the day before especially in this Christmas Season. Booking was easy online . The restaurant exterior looked very festive and the Receptionist was very welcoming and pleasant and showed us to a nice table for two close to the front window . The decor is different , almost colonial and certainly plenty to look at on the walls . Unfortunately, there was some “ lost in translation “ with the drinks orders and some of the waiting staff seemed to be a little inexperienced. However, Scott ( I think that was his name ) was extremely professional and friendly especially when my husbands minute steak was a tad sinewy . Overall, the food was good and not too pricey, which was a nice bonus . I certainly enjoyed my choices of Pumpkin soup and chicken as a main . Chocolate truffles with mint tea were yummy !
The courgette bites were also a lovely accompaniment to our drinks . We would definitely go again .
Great service. Very buzzy. Fab decor. Food was good. Didn't like being charged for service that doesn't go to staff.
Had an excellent lunch, great table and very good food. Staff very helpful
Very disappointed as food came out cold and took approximately 2 hours to serve 3 courses
The food & service was exceptional! We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas party dinner.
Went for afternoon tea with a friend - very good value for money and good food. Service was a little slow at times, though it was quite busy and we were told that the pastries, etc. are made fresh per order.
Beautiful decor and the staff are very friendly.
Would highly recommend.
Average food for gourmet prices. Much nicer restaurants for the same or lower cost in Dublin.
We went to the IVY for a girls Christmas lunch. We were seated at a lovely window table beside a service bay. During our meal a waiter reached up to a shelf of glasses and knocked 5 glasses off the shelf which came crashing down smashing off the counter landing on me, our table and all around us. This was ok as nobody got hurt, we picked the lumps of glass up from table and our clothing and continued on with our lunch. What surprised me the most was at no point did anyone acknowledge or apologise for this incident and the silently brushed the glass up and continued on. Very poor customer service.
Delightful. Visited for a birthday breakfast treat and we weren't disappointed.
Will visit again.
Lovely ambiance and setting but very disappointed with the service. The service would put me off but would try again with the hope it was a bad Saturday night. Thank you.
I was very excited to go to the ivy but it was a huge let down. The food and decor are very good. However my reservation was for 7.45 and we weren’t seated until after 8.15 which would have been fine only we were rushed through our meal. We we’re rudely told to leave our table as we should have known there was a 2 hour turn around (which we didn’t) but because of our delay in being seated we weren’t even there an hour and a half. My dinner and the end of a glass of wine were taken away also very rudely. Eventually the manager realised their mistake and we were given a complimentary cocktail. I’m so disappointed in my friend and my experience of the ivy
Enjoyed dining at the Ivy in Dublin - such a great meal and cocktails.
Our dining experience was lovely, food was very nice and our waiter was very nice and friendly. We arrived early for our table, out starters arrived promptly but we waited 45 minutes for our mains, which we understood as the restaurant was busy. But we were very disappointed when the maitre d can't to our table and said ladies if u wish to have dessert you have 10 minutes left on your table . At this point we hadn't even been given a dessert menu. As We were early for our table and seated 20 minutes late , at no point was it our fault they ran out of time. Overall the restaurant was lovely, a little overpriced, but on our experience we won't be rushing back.
Not a great experience at all unfortunately. Waiting for drinks and food. Dirty glass, hair in one of the cocktails, steak had to be sent back as was way undercooked and charged for the wrong bottle of wine, €80 instead of €60... maybe we just got unlucky. Have dined there previously and it was nice however our party of 6 wouldn’t go back again or recommend.
More soft furnishings needed high volume
There was an urgency to have us leave the table even though we had not finished eating. We were not allowed order deserts or coffee/tea.
I admit that some of our group were late arriving but no allowance was made for this. Although it was busy there was definitely no queue forming and we felt that another 20 minutes would have been nice.
I visited The Ivy a few times now and I always enjoy my experience along with my friends. The only problem with yesterday was our drinks took a long time to arrive at our table. We had to remind our waiter a couple of times. Overall though everything was perfect. Thank you.
Son’s Graduation from college
The food was anything but exceptional. I visited the Ivy in London a couple of years ago and the food was excellent. We expected the same in Dublin. We ordered minute steak which was tough and chicken salad which was dry.
We will not return.
very expensive though, wouldn't go back again because of this
