Had a superb Lunch at The Ivy in the Lanes. Great service from the staff from Front of House onwards. Everyone was attentive, very professional and courteous. Great atmosphere in this restaurant and so far I rate this Ivy and the one in Guildford as the best ones. We spent over 4 hours on Lunch here so I think that displays just how good the restaurant is

Always love a meal at the Ivy. It was our first visit to the Brighton Ivy & we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The service was great, the food was great as was the wine. When I booked I explained that we were celebrating my husband's 60th birthday & that went unnoticed by the restaurant which was disappointing & I had reduced our booking by one person a few days before on the phone but again that was not noted. However, we had a fabulous evening.

Excellent food and top notch service. The drinks were varied and deliscious and the price is about right for a treat. The staff were patient with us, and the loos were decorated in a fun way. They forgot a drink at one point but generally we had a superb time and I will be going back.

The noise level was insane and it felt like we were dining in a rave. We had to shout at each other to be heard. The bar service was slow and we waited 30 minutes before getting our first drink. However, it was NYE and really busy. The staff were very mindful and attentive which helped. On a positive note, the food was excellent and all the staff were so lovely and worked really hard. The staff are always amazing here. Next time, we will stick to regular dining there and avoid special occasions like NYE. It wasn’t so much the speed of service, more the noise levels. Thanks for a fabulous evening though. Happy New Year!

Myself and my family have always agreed that The Ivy in the Lanes in Brighton was our favourite restaurant. We have eaten there on several occasions and we went on both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve and it was like being in a different restaurant. Christmas Eve night all went very well and what you expect from The Ivy but when it came to New Year’s Eve it was a totally different experience. It was a set meal for £80 per person. Firstly there was very few choices to choose from in any section. The waitress then took our food orders and we ordered a bottle of wine also. The waitress tried to talk us out of the bottle of wine that we ordered saying that we probably wouldn’t like it because it’s a very sweet wine however we have had this exact wine previously and that’s exactly why we ordered it was because we all know that we like it and obviously our taste buds are different so from our waitresses because none of us found it a sweet wine at all and so I can only assume that the waiting staff get some sort of bonus if they get you to order a more expensive bottle of wine? Anyway we did get the wine that we ordered. None of us recognised any of the same staff that were on duty and the atmosphere was 1 that we all felt was chaotic and none of us felt relaxed like we had on Christmas Eve night. Our waitress then said that she was going to get our glasses of champagne. Then during us eating our starters another waitress advised us that she was going to check what had happened to our glasses of champagne but we were still left without them. So when our waitress came to clear our starter dishes I had to ask her what had happened to our glasses of champagne and our waitress said you still haven’t received it and I said no. Then 1 member of our family said shall we just have it later as we had already started drinking the wine but I said no let’s just get it now and our waitress said did we want it later and again I said no and she said let me get it for you now otherwise

The quality of the food was poor. This included the quality of the produce and standard of cooking. It is such a shame that the effort, time and money that is obviously invested in the dining area is not reflected in the kitchen. I can cook better food!

Great restaurant our 'go to' place for really good food, well prepared, well served in superb surroundings. Always a pleasure to eat at the Ivy Brighton whether its lunch, afternoon tea or dinner. We've tried several of the Ivy restaurants and Brighton tops them all. Well done Brighton team!!

Very disappointed this year with the experience having also come for last new years. This year we were forced to have a very limited set menu, and felt very rushed to have our dinner get pushed out. Not what you want on a new years night. If you are going to force someone to pay £75+ drinks for a meal you shouldn’t be restricting them to a time. We left feeling very rushed and like we were going to burst from having rushed down our food and drinks. The meal was also very poor value for money. Last year we had similar order independently from the menu and paid £40 less each with drinks, starts, mains and desserts. I usually love the Ivy but this experience has put a dampener on it for me and me and my friends won’t be returning again to celebrate new years or special occasions, especially when there is an enforced set menu.

Everything except for the ribeye steaks was superb. The steaks were very pour, almost inedible which is inexcusable for a restaurant of this quality and especially considering the prices.

Excellent staff and service. Unfortunately, music was so loud that any conversation at the very small table in the cramped dining areas was next to impossible. Starters were excellent, but main courses seemed slightly lacking and the Lobster Linguine is overpriced and overpowered by tomato. Good choice if you want to eat burger, cod or fish and chips with outstanding service

We have been twice as a family for afternoon tea, and on both occasions we had a very good time in those wonderful surroundings. Staff are attentive and professional, the atmosphere is uplifting, and the tea itself is delicious and attractive, with interesting tweaks around the basic theme. We find we need to take some home with us as we haven't yet managed to eat it all in one sitting.
