   Even living in Kildare this is the first time here. So nice to see a menu with different things on it apart from the usual bog standard. The food was excellent, service was lovely and friendly and good pricing too! Definitely be back

   This is our local and hoping to frequent it more now after lockdown. We were there Friday and steak was a bit salty, but decided to return for early dinner yesterday. I wasn’t impressed with the chicken and avocado salad. The lettuce was a bit limp. The bacon was a dried out rasher. Chicken was chewy. Really think a classic chicken Caesar salad would be much more appealing. It was listed on the open table version of the menu but this might be the post covid alternative.

    We were glad to get back to Johnstown Inn for a family dinner. The food was lovely as always and the staff we very friendly and helpful. The only negative for us was the lack of hand sanitizers. There was 1 at the main door when we arrived but that seemed to be it. The fact that women have to open up to 4 doors(depending where you are sitting) to go to the bathroom with no sanitizers along the way or on the walls is not good enough under the current Covid situation. I had to walk back to the main door to find some. Also where we were sitting there was a dyson air which I presumed was to try circulate cool air around the area but it was actually blowing out hot air, I asked the waitress to turn it off. I really don’t think this is suitable in a restaurant again under the current Covid situation. We have been customers here for so many years and have always loved the environment, food and staff but I feel they are not doing as much as they could with regards to Covid guidelines.

    Lovely evening, good was great as was the service. The restaurant was a bit warm though and not sure if any windows open. We thoroughly enjoyed and felt very safe.

    Visited here last Saturday 26th September came down from Dublin the food was so nice we went back the following week with more family members. The food is amazing no complaints from anyone, all thought it was superb my mam in particular was raving about the fish. The staff are so nice and helpful too we will definitely be returning. 😊

    A job well done, visiting The Johnstown Inn for over 20 years. Consistency is what we like about pooping. Service was excellent, friendly and attentive. Quality of food was hot, fresh and tasty.

    Hi food good and service very good, didn't feel good choice of deserts which our group liked, had fudge cake for desert and asked for scoop of ice cream and was charged an extra euro for the scoop, I would perfer to be charged 6.95 in the first place. I felt it looked a bit strange on the bill to be charged for this. Often would ask for this in other places and not be charged extra.

    Staff lovely and all masked . But I was quite concerned about the fact that tables were set with cutlery, salt and pepper shakers etc . When we asked for mayonnaise it was brought in a large Hellman’s plastic container. Distance between tables suspect . Felt Covid safety requirements not being followed .

    Added prawns to a salad and got 5 prawns for €5 - rip off! Very limited menu. Closes at 9 pm. Spent €80 on 1.5 courses for a family of 4. Live local but won’t be back average quality, expensive, no atmosphere. No proper COVID controls in place enter/exit through same door. Better options in Kill. Wait staff only positive

    The food took a very long time to come out, we had 2 young kids with us so that wasnt ideal. 2 of our party ordered prawns but there were very few prawns in the dish, 4 in total. The food was sub standard which was a shame as it was a Christmas night out for our family. Couldn't not fault the service or the staff, they were excellent.
