The Legal Eagle
Lunch features a daily roast-in-roll, Irish potato flatbreads (think bacon, cabbage & parsley sauce / think roasted squash, fig & honey / think smoked haddock brandade, fennel & duck egg!) and meats from our wood oven, traditional meat platters (hay-smoked ham, corned mutton, haslet, pickles) and delicious Seafood platters filled with the best from our coastal waters. Dinner adds roast bone marrow, rump heart, cauliflower rarebit and Shropshire Blue soufflé. There are 20 craft beers on tap, over 200 wines on a stellar list written with love and a small but considered and decidedly timeless classic cocktail list.
Definitely worth to visit. Everything was perfect, amazing food, fantastic service, beautiful decoration and great location.
I am hoping that soon this place will be number one restaurant in Dublin !
Great sea food and wine
Good place to eat ! I will recommend Delicious fine meals, we loved it !!
Staff is great
We discovered the Legal Eagle in Dublin on a whim and absolutely loved it. The food is fabulous (get the smoked fish platter!), and the staff are super friendly. We went back a second time before leaving Dublin because we enjoyed our experience there so much. I recommend the Legal Eagle to all of my friends, who visit the area.
Very nice dinner. We shared the Rabbit as a starter, it was delicious. Unexpected presentation, but delicious nonetheless. The 'olivepork' was outstanding, accompanied by a unique side named nduja potato croquettes. Fun and quite delicious. Restaurant was easy to fine, on street parking can be available. I suggest you show up 30 minutes early and try a pickled egg and Make your own G&T....
Great food and venue. Dublin Bay prawns were lovely and the roast beef was perfect
Just brilliant, as always
Fantastic meal with friends here. We had the chateaubriand - highly recommended. Amazing meal overall. Staff were brilliant - really know their foods and wine! Can’t wait to go back.
Excellent food. The treacle tart was outstanding.
Fantastic member of waiting staff (female, Spanish), couldn't have been nicer or more helpful .
We were seated upstairs in an attractive, quiet room with great views over the Court and the Liffey. The staff was very friendly and helpful and took their time guiding us through the menu that reads very well, prompting us to order enthusiastically. Enjoying a good beer and a nice wine, we shared a potato flatbread as a starter which met our high expectations. Our mains were voluminous but unfortunately less pleasing. My pork dish was good but not great, with the crackling being a bit tough and the balance between meat and non-meat components a little bit off in favour of the former. My wife's rump steak was disappointing. The steak itself was large, tender and cooked to order, but over-charred, resulting in a dominant acrid flavour. The accompanying Yorkshire pudding was overcooked, and the potatoes and cauliflower underwhelming. Redemption arrived in the form of the desserts: both the strawberry crumble and the treacle tart were delicious. In all, we might very well return but would order differently.
Legal Eagle was a surprise out of the blue quality gastropub. Excellent wine list, short but super menu, and great service. Had the beef rump, steak and ale pie, and treacle pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. (We relaxed our vegetarian diet on this trip.) The medium rare beef was extremely tender and pickled cauliflower and oven roasted potatoes were delicious. Steak and ale pie and marrowfat mushy peas were also very good, and the chips it came with were excellent. Service was helpful, friendly, and prompt. Absolutely would recommend.
Great staff, fabulous menu and food. Definitely worth a visit!
Food was very tasty, unfortunately service was appalling. There seemed to only be one waitress covering the entire floor. As a result, we were waiting almost 20mins to place our order and another 20mins got empty plates to be cleared. One of our sides was also forgotten as was half of our drinks order and when we requested the forgotten drinks, the barman seemed put out at our question, stating he delivered everything that was ordered.
Would be reluctant to come again
Arrived late, after normal dining service, but staff kindly allowed me to order from the full menu. And I then got the tastiest bone marrow I've ever eaten.
Food is generous but not as delicious as the description suggests. We had the meat platter which was excellent, the steak pie which was a bit heavy and dull and not seasoned well, mussels which were plentiful, and a dessert of strawberry crumble which was lovely but small and over-priced (it’s only a few strawberries and a bit of butter and flour). We had exceptional service from the bar to the table. Perhaps it is because we went on a Saturday but the atmosphere was a bit lack-lustre and the place seemed to be filled with tourists (who in fairness looked very happy). The bathrooms were spotless and chic.
As a visitor to Dublin, this was a wonderful place to dine.
A very good spot to have a late lunch. Good ambiance, efficient service
I've been going to The Legal Eagle for lunch since shortly after it opened but this was the first time I went there for dinner. It did not disappoint. The food is spectacular - always interesting things on the menu with fabulous ingredients. I have recommended it for lunch since the beginning (all of the above re food plus service is very prompt - they understand their clientele have short lunchbreaks) will definitely go again for dinner (service more relaxed, but only as is appropriate for a pleasant evening).
Great! Accept David’s suggestions! He knows what he’s talking about.
Excellent would recommend
The Legal Eagle usa vgreat restaurant. Food and service are great and even during the weekend is not too crowded which makes the experience even better
Loved the vibe of the Legal Eagle - very elegant. Food and service was excellent. Eclectic menu.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming, the food was great! It was my friends birthday and they made the whole experience really nice. Highly recommend
Lovely food and service.
The food at the Legal Eagle was very good. We sat upstairs and the ambiance would have been very nice and quiet except for there was a table of 6 people that were very loud and my husband and I cut our dinner a little short to escape the noise. When we went down through the main level it was much quieter and so I think if we would have sat downstairs where there were some nice little hideaways we would have enjoyed a more leisurely dinner. The service was very good as well.
Fantastic food, thoroughly enjoyed it.Staff very friendly.
Definitely come back again.
Excellent food at very reasonable prices. Staff were very welcoming
You just need to go.
Very quaint atmosphere. Service was spot on. The menu is eclectic nose to tail with seafood and options for the less adventurous. The smoked fish platter is a must try. Fabulous
Enjoyed our meal overall, but the food is not great. It seems like they're experimenting in some ways, but maybe getting the basics right might be a better idea. A good example is the Suet pudding, which i found pretty bland and comes with a mountain of turnip, for some reason. Maybe I'm the philistine here, but not for me thanks!
It was a bit of a walk from where we stayed
But well worth it from the moment we walked in we were impressed
Our waitress was very helpful and friendly and explained the menu well
The food was outstanding and very well presented
I had the rump of Irish beef and it was delicious cooked to perfection
It was one of the best meals I have every had
If you are going to dublin it's well worth a visit
I was so impressed with the fish plate & my companions cheese platter & roast beef dish that I went on Google reviews to praise the Legal Eagle already.
On a quiet Saturday in May, they could be forgiven for not really trying, but the opposite was the case, pulling out all the stops in the kitchen & on the floor.
I can highly recommend the Legal Eagle for lunch any day of the week.
Absolutely fantastic service, food and wine list. So very well looked after by your wonderful staff who gave us great recommendations from the extensive wine list, with great humour and a wealth of knowledge. Shall see you next time we’re in town.
We came with 2 coeliacs, which I flagged when booking. The menu was entirely unsuited to those who are gluten free. While there was gluten free bread available it is not the same experience as the baps given to non-sufferers. There were no main meals suited to coeliacs which is an oversight. It is unusual to have such an unenlightened menu in terms of allergies.
We were there on Easter Monday so it was particularly quiet, but we had amazing service and the food was spot on.
The Chateaubriand was sensational, as was everything else. Couldn't recommend this place more. It's service, decor, food and ambience were outstanding.
Excellent food, friendly staff, nice place. Well worth a visit
Great food, Outstanding service, could not have had a better dinning experience
Legal Eagle was unbelievably accommodating prior to our reservation regarding dietary restrictions and providing options; our service during our reservation and quality of food was unparalleled. Our server Sean truly made our experience exceptional, not simply providing recommendations for everything from food to drink but also providing a deeper context to the food and drink. We truly had a dining experience.
