The Legal Eagle
Lunch features a daily roast-in-roll, Irish potato flatbreads (think bacon, cabbage & parsley sauce / think roasted squash, fig & honey / think smoked haddock brandade, fennel & duck egg!) and meats from our wood oven, traditional meat platters (hay-smoked ham, corned mutton, haslet, pickles) and delicious Seafood platters filled with the best from our coastal waters. Dinner adds roast bone marrow, rump heart, cauliflower rarebit and Shropshire Blue soufflé. There are 20 craft beers on tap, over 200 wines on a stellar list written with love and a small but considered and decidedly timeless classic cocktail list.

Sunday : 12:00 -16:00 and 17:00 - 22:00
Tried this location given Winding Stair connection. Loved the place and will be back! Great location, lovely food and very attentive service. A real find! :)
Great atmosphere, good friendly staff and food is very good. As we were there for lunch and under pressure for time service needs to be just that bit quicker. Great spot. Love the jelly and ice-cream.
Some of the best gastropub food you’ll see in Ireland. I was completely taken with the unique and beautiful menu. Locally sourced ingredients and some great combinations, I would highly recommend the mixed seafood plate to share, the venison and the scallops with black pudding. Only gripe would be the service was a bit slow (was extremely friendly however) and the haggis flatbread was mediocre.
Great selection of gin and tonics also . A real winner here, will be back!
Warm welcome. Great good. Beautiful setting and an enjoyable evening!
Went for evening meal and a few drinks. Had 2 set menu and 2 sharing plates. Bar service and floor staff very helpful. Gave us a rundown on both food and drink. Will be back.
Eve was an excellent server and gave an excellent wine selection. We had the Chateaubriand and it was perfectly prepared and served with all the trimmings. It says it serves 2-3 but it would have served our entire table of 6. Highly recommend going around 1:30 to miss the rush.
First time at Legal Eagle. The food was delicious and the waitress was very helpful and friendly.
Such a gem - had a cozy dinner that was informal and delicious. The bone marrow was delicious!
What a find. The legal eagle is my new favourite. Nostalgia on a plate.
Great dining experience . Interesting menu with small plates nd big plates to choose from. Very friendly and attentive waitress and easy to hear everyone in our group of 7
The food was good, service excellent. Wait staff were attentive. Exceeded our expectations, will return.
Good but not great! I had high expectations after all the reviews and awards but as a pescatarian I found the menu quite limiting although there are also vegetarian options.
I'm not sure who I would recommend this venue to but as it was busy even on a Tuesday they seem to have found a definite following so well done.
Delicious meal at this easy to find restaurant. Cocktails were delicious. We especially liked the freshness of the food. The cauliflower fritters were outstanding and I liked the salad they were served with which included samphire. Dessert was outstanding with freshly made ice creams and home made jelly. A nice touch to finish the meal. Price fixe dinners are available.
The menu has wonderful and fun variety, and the dishes and desserts we had were all delicious. Would highly recommend this restaurant!
Très peu de monde le soir où nous y sommes allés, donc ambiance très calme, service agréable, belle carte des vins.
Two of us had the bone marrow and escarot starter which was very tasty. The bone marrow had shredded beef on top which was more filling. We opted for flatbreads for our main because they have a stone oven. They were really delicious. Splitting a bottle of wine the bill was €75.
interesting menu, dishes you would not see on other menus. excellent food and service.
Discovered a gem in Dublin. Off the central beat n track. Friendly staff, great selection of craft beers and truly amazing food. They care about their food here, real care and attention to flavour and presentation a truly gastro experience. Demands a visit for lunch or dinner.
We go here regularly and without a doubt it is one of the best gastrobars around and deserves the many awards that it has won.The staff are just brilliant as is the food.
The food and wine were to an exceptionally high standard. The menu is also very creative. Nice staff, nice interiors.
A very warm welcome followed by delicious food & drinks. Everyone was very impressed, steak was a definite winner. Lovely surroundings with great tunes!
Great and friendly service, a creative menu that use well chosen produce to good effect and a superb wine list. Bravo!
The Legal Eagle was a great spot for Sunday brunch. We all really enjoyed the food. Vegan option available too. Staff were outstanding. The chef was also beautiful.
A truely wonderful meal with a very interesting food and wine menu. I can see why they received The Wine Spectator 2018 Award of Excellence. The service was also excellent and we got pastries to take home free of charge for our breakfast the next day. We will definitely be back.
Outstanding from start to finish! Such a wonderful setting! Friendly staff! Really tasty food and well thought out dishes reinventing some classics!
An inventive menu. All the starters were so tempting we just shared them all. Great food in a central location outside the tourist tack.
From the moment we stepped into the bar and were warmly greeted, recognised as regulars of the sister-restaurant The Washerwoman in Glasnevin, I sensed we would have a splendid evening.
We were a group of 4 celebrating a birthday and suffice to say, the food was to be celebrated too! Pork scratchings the size of pillows, sumptuous beef pie, cabbage and ham farl flatbreads and peanut butter ice cream baked Alaska were all savoured and then quickly dispatched, accompanied by several fine ales from a comprehensive beer menu & a remarkable Spanish Penedes Chablis from a cracking wine list.
Attentive service and a lovely surrounding made for a great night, so hats off to Bronwyn’s team for another great spot!!!
We’ll be back.
We were welcomed and treated with congenial
Very glad we made reservation
Have already recommended it to others
Food and service was excellent with an excellent wine and craft beer selection
Great food, service and cocktails...we spent a lovely lazy Sunday afternoon here and will definitely be back.
Saw the place online and had to try it out. Another great decision on my part!!
Great food and venue. Service a bit odd. Great for drinks and starters but then sat with our dirty main plates for 10mins. Staff seemed to go from 3/4 waitresses down to 1. In the end we had to ask her to clear our plates. Then for dessert service back to standard again. Real shame as it took the shine off of an otherwise flawless meal.
Really disappointing and over-rated food. The boom is back 🙄
Really enjoyed our dining experience, certainly not your typical menu and lovely plates to share. Very extensive and impressive wine list
The food is special and creative. We had the razor clams, the bone marrow with braised oxtail and escargot, and fresh irish oysters to start - each dish was fantastic. We split the steak and ale pie with chips, gravy and pea puree for the entree, which was also great. Our servers would incredibly friendly and welcoming. The cocktails were well made. Would recommend to any foodie in Dublin.
Very nice restaurant, well designed and very interesting and good food menu.
Slightly overpriced for its location and food. Different but not justifiable.
Stopped in for a late dinner on a weeknight and had a lovely experience. Excellent service and delicious food, with a good value menu on option. Portions were quite big, which is not always enjoyable but meant we had plenty of leftovers. Would definitely return if ever in the city again.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, menu was interesting and very tasty. Rich food and delicious. It was mid week when we went and it was a lovely relaxing night. Would definitely recommend.
Smashing from start to finish. Greeted with a friendly smile and engaged staff. Comfortable seating and simply tasty food. We we left along long enough to have a great chat but not so long that we were kept waiting for anything. All in all five star service. Will definitely be returning.
Great restaurant. We ordered the rump steak and sole and both were excellent. Nice atmosphere and good service made for one of the best dining experiences we had in Ireland.
