   Every year we do afternoon tea as a birthday tradition. The afternoon tea here was very average. Staff busy and less attentive versus others like the Shelbourne. Was told no cloakroom, that they would ‘find somewhere’ to put out coats. Asked for an extra sandwich and they forgot, not great really

   Very poor experience. We have enjoyed afternoon tea in many premium hotels and therefore have an expectation to the standard of food and service expected in such a venue. A couple of items on the tray were stale, the waitress did not check on us and not once topped up our teas and it took me 20 minutes to request the bill.

    Probably the worst AFT experience - I placed a note on my booking for basic dietary requirements, restaurant rang to confirm but in the day they completely messed it up despite me explaining for the 3rd time. I mean basic! The manager then got stroppy with me?! It was my friends birthday and she was aghast at the service. Then the food.... arrived wrong! we asked for another sandwich (as the cakes were awful) abd they told us it would cost another 13e p.p! Wow.... Having been to many AT worldwide, I've never ever experienced this poor service and attitude. Save your money and go to a proper 5 star hotel for the same price.

    A get together between us friends, it has been awhile with the pandemic and among other things. We are all nurses, so it’s hard to meet up between shifts and in moments like these. A peaceful and cosy environment plus there’s more Christmas decorations that we loved to see and take pictures on. The food is always nice and the staff are always the best.

    My friend and I enjoyed a very pleasant lunch in the Lobby Lounge. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and there was a lovely atmosphere. Lots of families and small groups meeting before Christmas. Just the right amount of noise , happy chats and people enjoying themselves. The service was excellent and the staff are to be congratulated on their attentiveness and pleasant manners. The food was perfect for a light lunch but with lots of choice if something more substantial was required. Also the price was correct for the overall setting . Well done to the hotel and we will be back.

    We enjoyed our food and the waiter, Valentin was fabulous. However, we found the Lobby Lounge quite cool. We had to move from the glass and sit more towards the centre. Unfortunately each time the outside main door to the hotel opened we got a blast of artic air.

    We had booked for a Christmas Tea. Somehow this got mixed up and while we had a table, we didn’t have any teas reserved. Unfortunately, half our party was sick so we were fewer people than booked. We were sat and then nobody came to take our order until we flagged someone down 30 minutes later. The drinks didn’t come at the same time. As for food, we originally told one tea was left so we decided to get it for the table. Then we were told there wasn’t one. Then, oh wait there was! But it was “incomplete” so they wouldn’t serve it. Then it arrived at the table. Overall the food was fine. Just fine. We were never offered water. The plates weren’t cleared until the very end. Honestly, nothing was right. It wasn’t a nice experience and I honestly have no desire to go back. Positives: very nice setting and pretty Christmas decorations.

    We had requested a table in the Reading Room and were given a lovely table beside the fire. It was absolutely perfect and we really enjoyed our Anniversary celebration lunch. The staff at the Intercontinental are very attentive and friendly and the food is delicious. Thank you.

    I went there for afternoon tea with my daughters to celebrate my birthday. The whole experience was lovely. The staff are great. The food is beautiful to look at and very tasty. The environment is relaxing but also has a lovely atmosphere

    Absolutely incredible service and ambience. Staff were friendly and extremely accommodating. Four afternoon tea, possibly the best option available having frequented other 5 star options. Will definitely be returning for all our future events.

    Most of the food was great but 1 of our group of 4 is coeliac and the gluten free food was quite bad - tiny, hard scones and the bread wasn't up to scratch at all. A shame as everything else was really good.

    Beautiful hotel, my husband and I had afternoon tea with our son as a treat as he absolutely loves it, but very little was given compared to other places I've been, usually we can never finish, also service wasn't the best. The server who initially greeted us and served us our champagne was pleasant. But when food arrived my son who is 7, had to go looking for someone to get some butter for scones he had gotten? I also asked for tea to be served after some of our food, but could not get anyone's attention. And again had to go looking for someone, even after this, I still didn't get served my tea for some time? For what was spent I'm not impressed to be honest.

    Prawn and crab cocktail 28€. Five prawns and a scoop of mushy crab pate on top of lots of lettuce. Batter on the fish stodgy not crispy. Fish itself nice. Definitely not 5 star standard food. Service and ambience nice.

    Host at check in was rude and had a very aggressive attitude . Booked garden for afternoon tea and was told it was a booking glitch and tea is never served outside even though it was a beautiful day and lounge was empty. No apology given. Young servers were polite and pleasant. Food was very average - warm sandwiches and apple cakes which were hard. Lovely view of garden was where we were supposed to be dining. 175 euros for 3 very average teas. Not worth it .
